Hi all.
My first post on the website and it's actually about something I know quite a lot about.
I am a qualified electrician in the UK. My wife and I are due to complete in Jardine 12 in 2 weeks.
In answer to the confusion about whether you can have a mains electrical socket/outlet in a bathroom; it depends on several variables..........
1. Exactly where is socket/outlet to be sited (there are very specific 'zones' in a bathroom).
2. What type of socket/outlet is it (direct mains, SELV, PELV, etc).
3. What sort of protection has been provided to guard against accidental electric shock (fuse, MCB, RCD, RCBO).
I won't bore you all with any more details, but if anyone has specific questions, please feel free to PM me.

Hi TJ (Welshwizard)
Welcome to your first post, I've only been on the site for about a week so I'm still a new boy,
I may well take advantage of your electrical expertise
Does your user name mean you are in Wales, if so North or South, I was interested that you are in Garden 12, I did post under Jardin 12 & Snagging but got no replies from anyone saying that they were in the same Jardin. What number are you, we are 1272 (1st floor-2bed).
Hope your completion goes as well as ours did some 2 weeks ago now.
Cheers
Roy & Elizabeth

Hi guys.
Yes I am a Welshman. I was born and bred in Aberystwyth, mid Wales, (right on the coast) but moved away to join the forces (RAF) in 1986.
I now live in Lincolnshire, near Peterborough.
We are about to buy J1224, 1st floor, 2bed.
I have to say all seems to be going quite smoothly so far.
Got NIE numbers via Lawyer.
Got mortgage with CamBank.
We are just waiting for the hassle to begin, but it all seems very slick and worry-free so far.

I will never complain about British Banks ever again

Shampers,
We got the €17.43 charge through from CAM today as well, times two as it's a joint account. The slips says it's for 'processing the residence certificate' ? No idea what's this is for, I'll email them and ask but does any one know?
Phil

But we are not applying to be residents of Spain.
And under EEA Law the applications are free anyway.
Mañana is costing me
Thanks Gawd I'm off to Turkey on Monday and can just let all this wash over me till after completion, as I now just want the deal to go through and any issues such as this can be dealt with after the event

I was told last week at CAM Bank that the banking is free if you have a mortgage with them, the payments taken are for NON - residency certificates that is required by law by Madrid HQ when you buy property via a mortgage - so you dont pay taxes in Spain
The other charge they said they thought was for NIE numbers but as stated in another post, they made several phonecalls looked blank throughout and then 'suggested' the payment was for that .......they havent got a clue so good luck with finding out
