Advertising for short term rentals

Hello everyone has anybody been given a property end of year tax bill? I have a villa

in phase 1 which I paid 50% and I am not willing to give any more money to the builder until things get a lot clearier,saying that my service supply's have been cut off

so I am unable to use my villa the builder has won the first battle but he will lose the war..

I have just seen a party of men from Murcia Town Hall and one car looking around the site which to me looks promising!! At last we may get the OK in which case we will all have to get the money in place to pay the I.V.A. I thought it worth mentioning that in case anybody had forgotten!

Cormona, what do you mean by end of year property tax bill? do you mean IVA due on the purchase of your property or council tax?  

Did you have use of your property for a time and the developer cut off your supply because you wouldn't pay more money?

   I got a letter from my Solictor stating I owe local rates on my property to the value of 582 euro.

Not sure what type of tax this is I have ask my solictor still waiting for a reply,I can not see how I can owe a tax on a property I have only put a deposit on....

  I have the keys to my property since 05 I have used my villa regular until september.

 I was informed that I would loose my Water/Electricity unless I pay more money by Martha,I did not pay and the services were cut.

So I am unable to use my villa I don't know when I will be back down I had to ask Bob to stop maintaining the swimming pool no point if the water can not be circulated.

My day will come hopfully in January if perdictions are right with the register,the builder will come looking for the rest of his money and he will complete my snag list before he gets his money

Have just heard from my Solicitor as follows "Do not worry,as it seems that this problem is being resolved. Just wait for a further month and I assume that the Deeds will be ready for signature."

Bearing in mind that he has been so non-commital in the past with such remarks as "you will get your deeds sometime but I cannot say when" I am very encouraged by this as he has been largely responsible for my Gloom!!!

We will have to have a national Deed day when it comes through...in stead of celibrating little christmas like the Spanish do in January.

Let hope that the light at the end of the tunnel finally happens and everyone can get on with living the dream,and we can all get back to looking in to each others garden and say I like what they have done?

Hi Everyone

I had an e-mail from my solicitor today. Last week I gave them the name of the notary as posted by exile. The solictor says they have spoken with the notary and they have told him that the escrituras will be available late Feb 2007.

It seems that the date has been put back again but at least the information was from another source other than Trampolin. We will have to see if this turns out to be the case!

Has anyone else asked their solictor to contact this notary? I wonderd if anyone had heard the same.

It has all gone quiet on the forum! How is the commercial centre comimg along?

My Solicitor did get in touch with the Notary and told us not to worry as he assumed that we should wait another month and things would start to happen. I am not the least surprised it might be put back to Feb that is entirely in keeping with Spanish life! However I am encouraged that another Solicitor has been in touch with the Notary and got such a reply as she has no axe to grind and at last we are getting the truth by the look of it.

It would certainly be nice if yet another Solicitor could get in touch with her and verify the story. They are getting on with the Commercial centre. We have had quite a bit of rain recently which slows them up a bit and of course we can not see what is going on inside the houses. Men are swarming all over Ronnie`s house of course! This is a message for those of us of Retirement age and living permanently out here. There was a call from someone to Sky News tonight who said because he was living abroad and did not therefore qualify for theWinter Fuel Payment. That is wrong --everybody does but they make it difficult and don`t tell you you qualify unless you press them. Of course it used to be true but the Govt was taken to the International Court and they ruled that it applied to all pensioners wherever they are. Needless to say it was not publicised which is why some people don`t know the situation.

We have been investigating the question of the flats. The Office is very cagey and only on being pressed would they admit they are not for sale. Raf says they are "My Pension" so they obviously will be rented out. In any case the ramifications of leasehold on one escritura, as this will undoubtedly have, are very complicated.

They originally were supposed to be one storey but of course they are already two and judging by the amount of reinforcing still pointing skywards will probably be three or even more. They are no asset to the entrance I can assure you but there is nothing to be done.The shops and supermercado are progressing. For anybody coming at Christmas the weather is a lot better than it has been!

It's nice to hear from you exile, I don't like it when the forum is so quiet!

Regarding the new apartments, is it possible that we can contact the Town Hall to oppose them? I know this sounds like double standards when we are fighting to get our approvals, but if no-one has actually bought them yet, it won't cause any problems for buyers.

I think there was a posting about them on the Town Hall's planning website but as it is in Spanish, it is difficult to translate accurately. I think it said they were illegal buildings and asked for comments from interested parties. If no one objects, they might think that that everyone is happy with the situation.

Anyone on the forum speak and read Spanish ? If so I could post the link.

I think they do not not look right at the entrance to the development and may prejudice our approvals as well as they are not on the approved plans. It will certainly affect house prices and affect residents parking, views etc. I think the existing residents were having a meeting about them a few months ago. Can you find out what the outcome of this meeting was?
