We had problems with our lift in that the doors would not close. This was resolved by cleaning the magic eye that operates the opening and closing mechanism for the doors. This is situated on the inside of the door frame.

Hi Everyone
Our lift was not working on one occasion but I reported the fault by phoning the number on the lift doors and they were out to repair the fault straight away.

We reported our lift not working twice (in a fortnight) while we were out and as we left it was stuck again! Someone fixed it promptly both times we called but I fear we as a community are paying a fortune for this constant service...

Hi Caroline
I agree. We've had serious problems with our lift right from the start and AEA said they wouldn't be paying the bill until it was fixed. At that time I was concerned that the lift engineers would be paid each time they came out and failed to find the fault as the lift must have had some warranty. Unfortunately we have no way of knowing what was paid out in maintenance for each lift. The engineers certainly seem to do a lot of banging when they arrive.
