Hi All,
I dont know if we have just been lucky or what, but we have had no problems with any of the buying stages, up to now, touch wood ! The only thing that went wrong was our agent ceased trading, but the things he set up for us have worked. Our solicitor has not asked for or had a single cent from us. They are Mayor - Consulting in Mojacar. They even sorted our NIE nos. out for us and just said it would be on the final bill. Of course we know what the nos. cost and the final bill will be 10 to 11 % of the house cost, but that includes the IRT tax for the house. Any time we contact them, they eventually reply and give us the info we require. On the completion side of it, they just say as soon as the builders inform them of nearing completion they will then contact us. So we are just waiting.
We were told when we signed (Dec 2006) it would be December 2008 completion, but add 3 or 4 months on to that, and that looks likely. (Phase X) We realise a lot of you are way past the completion dates quoted, but hang on in there, it will be worth it.
We have been over a few times and it gets better the more we get to know the area.
Roger and Stella, Internet searches are a good indication of competitiveness, as I'm sure you know. Stick with the big names such as Barclays, Santander etc. Cut the middle man out. (Mortgage Agencies)
Hope to meet you all soon over there and hopefully we will wonder what all the fuss was about!!!
Happy Days,
Ray And Ann
