When we were buying our Jardin 8 apartment the Polaris rep did show us a drawing with the spaces marked on and numbered, ours was  at least two spaces away from our apartment. I think we'd only be aggrieved if we couldnt park in the inside area backing onto our Jardin and had to keep parking in the main parking because we've bought a space inside! If renters can use the inside parking the only time a problem arises is if an owner has a private car parked long term and their renters take up a second space. If there's only 30% take up even thats not a problem. Following on from another thread I am now lobbying for a golf buggy (maybe gold) to be in our speck for each time we visit!!

Phil

There are 8 parking spaces at each side of the lift, under the the back of the penthouses (below the first floor which is cantilevered). These are behind the passageway which houses the entrances to the kitchens.

There are also a similar number nearer the road out in the open.

Top and ground floor penthouses have reserved spaces under cover and the 1st & 2nd floors should park in the open.

I have various detailed plans from PW of the actual apartment layout, the block layout and the situation of the block on Naranjos. It is the block layout which shows the apartment numbers within each parking space.

Whilst it would benefit me to park directly outside my kitchen door there is no such advantage to someone on the top floor who still has to go to the lift or stairs.

Hi Barry

Thanks for the information, although I am aware we have a parking spot allocated to us with our 2 bed apartment in the Jardin I have nothing in my contract or plans that identifies its location. I had assumed it was just a random space and in our case it doesn’t make much difference other that if we do have a specific space it would be interesting to know its location for reference, I will have to ask PW and my solicitor about this.

Thanks again

Phil

Hi all,
When we purchased in Nov 06, we were given a map of our garden showing our apartment and parking spaces between our Jardines - each apartments car space number was marked on it.  It sounds unlikely that its ever going to be full with 30% occupancy so hopefully its probably not going to be a problem.

We are also hoping that when the new airport is finally open we wont always want to have a car anyway- weekend and short breaks- because we were told Polaris will have a shuttle bus service. We're hoping that will be one of the Polaris things that does happen (mind you the rep was also talking about Polaris stepping into airtravel next!).

I thought I would bring this thread back up, have PW marked in all the allocated spaces now?   Do we have a particular space we have to park in or do people just park anywhere anyway ?

Yes - they have marked out all of the bays.  It's a pest because many of the spaces are not very close to the associated apartments.  It was far better before they got the paintbrushes out.  That way - you could simply park in any of the (many) free spaces - now you feel obliged to park in your own space irrespective of the 500 free spaces right at the door of your own place!!!!!!!!!!

Can't complain about our space, as close as possible to our apartment only trouble is at the moment there is a JCB parked in it and portaloos in the next bay. Still they won't be there forever.

I can see what your saying Arlene, it' sounds like PW have made it complicated.  On my orignal drawings the parking spaces were marked out where the downstairs apartment , had 2 spaces in front of their terraces  1 allocated for the downstairs and 1 for the apartment above you.
Which seems only fair to me.  But it looks PW have messed it up some places!

On this ocassion I don't think it was Pw's fault.  They were getting people calling and complaining that the spaces were not marked as originally specified on the contract (ie our own personal space).  I think had they been over and seen the situation for themselves they may have thought otherwise as their is always, always spaces close to each apartment.

Oh I see what you mean.  So I have yet to find where mine is.  Does this mean now that I don't only have to pack a pink manikini, but I have also got to bring some white paint with me!  whoops now thats naughty!!!  Oh I don't know we could have a bit of fun here

What I don't understand is why PW have changed all of the numbers from the original plans!!  - My space has only moved about 10 places further from my apartment, not too big a deal, but for some the move does seem quite significant.  I have an original printout of J13 with the proposed spaces marked, and many of the actual markings are completely different.  ...... but I am sure the plans were not part of the contract, and Polaris have the right to change them ......... as usual!!!

Hi Ted

Do you know if this is just happened in Jardin 13 or is it happening on all the Jardines?   I think I am going to take my plans with me next time I go.

Sorry Scapa, I am afraid I haven't got plans for the others, so couldn't check.

Hi Arlene

I see what you mean about the numbering system!!  Crazy!  I 'm in jardines 8 and I had to go looking for mine around the corner on the front. How ridiculous!  It's another world on the Condado!
