Hi Everyone
Just like Danny My wife and myself have also moved into our apartment on Ville Borghese and also like danny we have been
waiting for 2 years for our dream apartment, with all the people giving advice on whether we should pull out or stay.
We decided that we had a reasonable deal and that there would be no going back, and we believe that we have made the right
choice.
There is only one draw back, there is no satallite dish to receive sky or english channels, only Spanish,we are hoping that the
management have realised there mistake and will rectify this matter quickly.
The golf bar is excellent,as are the staff, very friendly and cheerful.

Hi Terry,
Any update on schedules for other facilities?
Sports Complex? Spa? Shopping? Management Company? Anything?
Thought as you now have a property you might actually have some info.
Nowt from VR OR FV!

All included in publicity is part of the contract so if they are not delivered to you can ask for contract cancellation/ compensation: price reduction.
Best,
Maria

Hi Everyone.
I am another property owner at Valle Romano. I have also inquired about the satellite dish to receive sky or English channels and I was told that the company will come up with a solution briefly.
I agree with Millwall that the community fee we pay is really good value for money. My experience is that you would pay at least 200 Euros a month in other communities here on the coast.
When it comes to the golf I can tell you that the golf course is in a top shape. I had a golf round myself the other day as the already allow property owners to play in it.
In general I must says that everything is taking place as planned. The last information I received on the Sports Complex is that everything is going ahead as planned this year; Football pitches, Tennis and Paddle tennis courts, a Gym and a Spa.

Hi Allen
My wife and myself grew up in Peckham, and were childhood sweethearts, and was married
in Peckham, and lived just of the Old Kent Road, until 1978 when we moved to Thamesmead.
I stop going to the Den about 1971/72 when the hooligans took over, but I still look for the
Millwall result on saturday.
We only moved to Spain 2 years ago, when my mother passed away, then we could do what
we wanted to.

You stopped going down The Den before I was born. I was born in '76.
I was a season ticket holder at the old Den and the New up until I got married in '05.
Its a bit diffrent to Thamesmead and Sidcup out here aint it!
If you need anyone for Sky I have a friend doing it over here send me a pm and i'll pass on his details.

Hi All,
I am sorry for not responding to the various posts.I was blissfully unaware that posts had been made.I am disappointed that I haven't been alerted automatically by EOS as in the past.I will have to check that out.
Anyway I spent an interesting few days at VR over the New Year. The weather was variable to say the least. Some real storms which caused flooding and put out my water supply and TV signals.Thankfully they were restored within 12 hours or so.Thankfully there was some sunshine as well .
I felt though as if I was living in a ghost town as I didnt come into contact at all with any other owners.I am aware that 4 of the apartments out of 7 in my portal are occupied. But it seems they all stayed at home during the New Year.
Terry/Lion do you live there on a permanent basis? If so perhaps we can meet up and swop stories.
On the TV issue ,I have e-mailed Annabelle (before Xmas) about installing a satellite dish. She is the "estate manager" and interim President of the community .I have had a quote of 240 euros from Mark at Sky Doctor (tel 07814789573) for UK freeview which is good enough for me.I don't really see why the Community should object providing of course the dishes are discreetly placed on the communal roof.Annabelle has not responded but I will pursue this further now .However I have survived with the very good radio service from BFBS and Gibralter which provides many UK radio 4 and 5 live programmes. Moreover I have a fairly new British digital tv and discovered that I can get English dialogue on many of the Spanish dubbed programmes by the touch of a button on the remote.I also get CNN (analogue)and Sony(digital) in English. My wife and I also got numerous DVD box sets for Xmas. Not perfect but it helps in the interim.
I walked around the golf course several times but I have never seen anyone playing the course.I overlook the 10th tee and 9th green. All I have encountered is the omnipresent security patrols.I have used the range on many occasions.Perhaps " Lion" can let me know who he spoke to that told him residents can play at the moment.I havent ventured into the clubhouse since taking possession as it always seems to be shut at night, but I spoke to the greenkeeper ( he wanted to know what I was doing on one of my walks on January 2nd) and he said the course should open in a couple of months. However I would be delighted to play when I go back at the end of the month if I can get clearance.Has anyone had a meal in the restaurant yet?
What I did notice is that there is a lot of snagging going on in Villa Borghese Phase 1 and 2,they have also cleaned up our underground garages. There is also much construction work going on in Villa Borghese phase 3 and 4 as well as the FV.The detached villas are finished and it looks like the other village Capitolio looks about finished. There is also a big security presence outside of working hours with a manned entry gate and patrols.I took a drive right up the top and they have completed the roads and paths. However I havent seen any signs of a start on the sports facilities or the spa or cultural centre.I raised the issue of advertised facilities with my lawyer prior to taking possession and raised the issue of trades description and consumer regulations. Of course one can sue or cancel but who wants to go down that path at the moment. That no doubt will be subject for further discussion as the community grows.
I used to go and see Millwall when I lived in Bromley when they were in the 1st Division (pre Premier league) and thought Terry Hurlock was great until he signed for Glasgow Rangers that is.
Now I am back in Glasgow (Cumbernauld) and a season ticket holder at Celtic.
Whilst in Estepona I took in the Celtic v Rangers match on January 3rd( it was a glorious sunny day c.75F) on Sky at the Irish Fiddler in the Port.I only found myself sitting next to a Rangers fan on one side and a couple from South London who were Millwall supporters AND Rangers supporters as well, on the other.Made for an interesting match. We ended up really good friends and much drink was consumed. It was probably helped that it was a draw.Anyway I recommend the Irish Fiddler.
I have various trips to VR booked over the coming months and would be more than happy to meet up with any other owners. You can get me directly at carrigand@northlan.gov.uk

I have been told that my contract runs out in March including the 6 month builders grace period. I can then activate the refund process. Is this the case for any others?
danielca
Bromley was a nice place I used to drink in the Bell. Hurlock days were the best for me down the old Den (late 80s). I look after the Spanish properties of an ex Celtic player who now plays in the premiership.

Im not receiving automatic alerts either.

Millwall,
We were told by Lexland several months ago that the first claimants have received their money back.
VR have stated that our apartment would be ready in May. From the website pictures this looks highly unlikely to me.

Hi everyone,
I had a call from a woman called Claudia last week offering me a discount on my property if i complete. What a laugh! I want to cancel, not complete. I also asked her if i could have this offer by email and so far i have not heard anything back.
When i told my lawyers they said that they would not accept any offer unless on paper.
Has anyone esle had this call?

Yes London, we have had an offer too although nothing in writing.
We have also requested information on the guaranteed rental income scheme but heard nothing on that either. We keep being told that it's in discussion but this is now so close to the apartments supposedly being completed we can't believe we have no details yet. There is no information on the Beach Club, Sports Complex or let alone the hotel.
If we had a genuine real discount offer on our property we would consider it but I don't think Valle Romano will give us a value anywhere near a banks. At the moment, signing for our property would put us in negative equity - who would do that given a choice?
