Leigh was over last week to complete. Whilst there checking the snagging, he was told all outside lighting has to be the the same on every apartment.
As he has already bought lights, as we know some of you have aswell, he was not happy.
Any one else been told this?

I think it would be completely impractical for PW to insist everyone in the resort bought exactly the same exterior lighting and impossible to enforce. If they wanted that then they should have installed them before completion. When we were there in July there was already different styles fitted, are they going to be told to change them? I doubt it. I've certainly got no intention of changing ours after going to the expense of buying and fitting them.
Also we stayed at La Torre and the external lights there were all different so I can't see why they'd specify they have to be the same at Condado.

People may recall we were told that there are restrictions on the outside lights- when we went over for snagging 12th August by a Polaris rep and also Terry from SnagitMurcia- but no-one esle seemed to have been told that , so we'd begun to think it was more mis information. The rep said the lights have to be bought from Polaris- cant see how they can Police this

We phoned Polaris a couple of weeks ago and they told us that we would have to get our own lighting for outside, we've ordered ours now ready to be fitted on Oct 1st. So if they insist that all lighting has to be the same they can buy our outside lights and fit new one's for us. They haven't been very consistent with their information have they.

We are over in 2 weeks time to fit our lights furniture etc.
It seems to me that PW thrive on the Chinese whisper approach to resort management. They certainly have been less than fair with some of our friends on this forum regarding Pergola's etc. and they still can't get a straight answer.
So the answer is simple, we all put up our own outside lights in the style we like personally then if PW decide in their infinate wisdom that they all have to conform to their rules we all stick together and simply say "ok you pay and replace them."
After all what they going to do - remove them all and leave bear wires sticking out the walls.

just spoke to Leigh and he said the PARADOR REP told him about not being able to have different outside lights.
we both agree, we should all just put what we want and if they dont like it then yes they pay for what they want.
As it come from the PARADOR REP it might not be gospel.
Sorry if any panic caused, just wanted to know if asnyone else was told the same as us.

Dont worry San, we all keep being drip fed different information. We havent chosen outside lights yet and have no strict preference but Polaris cant have a monopoly on the lights- they have to have competitive prices too.
Feel they have probably let this get away from them- it would have been more straight forward for them to fit lights even if they put a cost on that.
How they will Police the various rules I'm not sure. We were told that no outside tv or internet service could be used and certainly no sky dishes were to be on the outside of buildings, it would all have to come from Polaris. As football and sport is a major part of my husband and son's lives it was important for him to know that we could expect to have wall to wall sport. Yet when we visited CdA we saw that more than one apartment had a sky dish and some are located on the front of the balconies for the 1st floor apartment whilst the wiring dropped down to the ground floor apartment. I felt that was certain to cause disharmony if the properties are owned by different people and how can Polaris 'make' owners change their supplier once they have paid money and entered a contract to a supplier other than Polaris-when Polaris havent got that supply sorted for people already.

I think we will be ok with our own choices of lighting, because when i went to the showrooms in Naranjos, the outside lights were not the terracota ones, they were curved metal, which funnily i had picked out the day before from another company for our apartment.

when you visit the properties you will see everyone has their own choice of lighting.for jardines upstairs appts you need 15 lights incl 4 outside.price including fitting starts at 300 euros from a place near barclays in mazarron.just be careful with the mirror light in the bathroom.only a spot will fit not a mirror fitted light.
