Hi everyone,

I have had an email from Keymare today stating that the pool will be kept open until 15th October now but as the meeting is going to be held on 11th October we can vote for it to be open longer.  Although I personally can't believe we are having to go through this it doesn't look like we have much choice.  I am going to be there on the 11th so I am very happy to put in peoples vote on their behalf.  Please would everyone assist with this and as soon as we find out definately that the meeting is going ahead and how people can vote we need to get the dates extended and agreed.

Thanks

Helen

We got the same information today also.
It is important that people who have concerns about this issue pass their vote onto somebody  else who will be there to vote in their absence. I do not know how much per month the pool will cost, can it be opened all year? Or can we suggest it be open from beginning April-end of November? Any suggestions are very  welcome.
We also need to be presise about the spa area, do we require the jacuzzi to be available all year round??
Please make your thoughts known either on the open forum or by PMs.
Thanks to everyone who has already got involved.
Tricia

I would like to offer a word of caution about managing your expectations about your first community meeting.

Firstly, don't bank on it happening on the 11th October. I know we at Thalassa were told that our first meeting would be held on the 11th September last year & it didn't happen until March 2008. The timing of the first meeting is linked to how many actual completions have taken place.

Also, we were very geared up with proxy votes, from memory, I think I held over 50 on that occasion & we had all our views & opinions on various issues documented. On the day, all that got agreed was the rules issued at completion would be adopted until the next EGM in June, at which point they would be voted on & the appointment of the President & Vice Presidents.

Absolutely nothing else was sorted out & that took nearly 4 hours!!!

If anyone wants any more information, send me a PM & I will get back to you after Tuesday, when I return from our EGM.

Noreen

Thanks Noreen for your words of caution.  I personally am well prepared for things not going quite to plan but I am going to try my hardest to get somewhere at least.

Following on from Tricia's comments, my Family would like the pool and spa to be open 365 days a year.  We just presumed we would be paying for everything12 months of the year.  Obviously if this is not what other people expected and it is not viable because of cost then maybe we could try having the pool from 1st April until 30th November and the Spa all year round?  We could see if this works for everyone and if it doesn't we can change it.  As we personally are happy to pay for all facilities 12 months of the year then we will be happy to get everything open as much as possible but really do see April to End of November as a minimum for the pool and the Spa needs to be all year.

Everyones opinion would be much appreciated

Helen

I think that most foreign owners will be in agreement. It will be dependent on the number of Spanish who live there day to day and whether they are prepared to pay for the facilities all year round!

I totally agree with Mauds comments, so we really need support from everyone who share our concerns about this issue.

Hi everybody,
we totally agree that when we purchased we automatically thought everything would be open all year, and if that is what we have to pay for then that is ok by us,I wouldn`t mind if   the Pool was closed Jan to March as when we were over in vera that time this year doing NI numbers and P.O.A it was freezing cold and blowing a gale, don`t know how anybody else feels about that but I wouldn`t want to use the pool then.As for the spa all year round is fine with us too.We won`t be out untill the end of Oct so won`t be at the meeting if it is on the 11th, we may have sombody to attend for us but not certain yet, if not will gladly give anyone who is attending our proxy vote, everybody needs to express their ponts of view on the matter so that we know how everybody else feels
                    best regards

Hi Richard & Jacqueline,

I have previously mentioned it on the forum but if the meeting does go ahead on the 11th and you don't have anyone to go to the meeting for you I will be happy to put peoples votes forward as we will be there.

We all just need to agree on opening times for both the pool and Spa and once we are agreed maybe sending it in an email with your name and apartment number to myself or another representative is an idea?  I just think if we don't agree on dates before the meeting then people may all put in different dates and we will be unable to get any extension because there isn't enough people to agree on the same dates.  I believe for something to change it has to be a majority vote.

Thanks
Helen & David

We agree with you, Helen, the pool should be open at least to the beginning of November.  We will be in Veranda on the 11th so if the meeting does go ahead we will be there. I also feel the Spa should be open all year.  Look forward to meeting you in October.

We would also want the spa facalities availabe and open all year round. If having the pool open all year round is a major issue of cost, we would settle for it to be open from 1st April until 1st Nov at least.
It is good to know that a couple of owners will be out for the 11th, but  please heed Noreens caution re the first community meeting on Thalassa, should have been in Sept and wasnt held until March. I really hope that will not be the case on Veranda, but until we actually get it in writing dont anyone book flights just for the purpose of attending the meeting.
If anyone else is travelling out for 11th please let us know.
Tricia

We are out this saturday so we will not be able to make the meeting, but tou can have our proxy vote as well.
We too feel that the spa should be open all year round, and the pool from april - november

Hi everyone.
Have just returned from our first stay in our own apartment having enjoyed a lovely time, though we did have some heavy rain towards the end of our stay.  We are well pleased with the apartment with just a few 'hiccups' which we've reported to KM now we are already looking forward to our next visit
With regard to the meeting, obviously having only just come home, we won't be able to make the 11th October.  But if it comes to a vote we would both go along with the pool being open from 1st April - 1st Nov and the jacuzzi/spa all year.
Best wishes,
Pauline

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay Pauline, and sorry to hear you had some rain.

I have read on one of the Thalassa threads that they have voted to keep one of the outdoor pools open until the 2nd Nov, so I assume it wont be a problem for us on Veranda to achieve the same.

Has  anybody actually had written confirmation yet , that the community meeting will be on the 11th of Oct,the email we received from ana stated we would receive confirmation of the date in the post as well as by email, as the date may be changed.
Glad to hear you had a lovely visit Pauline but sorry about the weather, you can always cope with that when your in such lovely surroundings can`t you.
                      best regards

We havnt received written confirmation for the 11th, so  yes the date could still be changed. As far as I know they only have to give you six days notice.  On Thalassa their first meeting was to be in Sept  and it wasnt held until Mar, they were with another management company and alot of their units were unsold. We just have to wait and see.

It may be as well for one of you to contact your administrators to confirm whether the meeting is on the 11th October.

They only have to give 10 days notice & legally, they are only obliged to write to you (not email) at your Spanish address. If you want more notice & advice by email &/or home address, then this is definitely something that you need to establish early on once the community is formed.

Maybe it is worth speaking to them.

Noreen

Hi Everyone,

I for one will be emailing the Administrator today at some point to see if I can get any info.  Maybe they are hoping that the problem will have gone away by now and we will have given up so the more people who email the better.  To be honest I don't mind if the meeting does go ahead on the 11th or not but I wont be happy if they delay the meeting and go ahead with shutting the pool on the 15th!

Helen
