Hello,
We would like to introduce ourselves, we are two families buying a duplex facing towards the Pueblo on the lovely veranda complex. Lee and Andrew, my wife Sam and myself Glenn, are hoping to finally complete this Wednesday, fingers crossed as we are flying out Thursday due to us booking flights two months ago as we thought we would have completed by this time but did not allow for the laid-back Spanish (I guess that is part of the charm and the reason we are so excited to own a home in Spain) I have been reading the forum weekly since the start and feel I almost know some of the "regulars" like, Trisha, Pauline and Noreen from Thalassa who seem to have great knowledge of the area and their complex. We feel we had to come forward now as the situation of the swimming pool times will effect us also and we desperately would like to see an opening time from Easter to after half time in October as we also have children all be them older but still in high school. Also, we strongly feel that the spa area should be open for the whole year as was explained to us as a selling point for this development. So we would definitely be giving our full support as the way forward is as a group but this does need addressing sooner rather than later to make this development a lovely small retreat for us all.
The four of us would also like to add and would like to know if anybody else at the time of purchasing was told that the original pool shape from the model in Key Mare office would be changing to allow for the community once set up to decide whether to purchase and have installed a telescopic winter pool house. You can see an example of one during the colder months as you drive towards Mojacar as the hotel Marina Playa have one (having stayed there in January we saw this first hand and the outside pool was being well used by the guests, I doubt if there pool is heated but it may demonstrate that even on warm days in the winter with possibly some investment we could use our pool also) As Key Mare were explaining this to us it made perfect sense as we are such a small (perfectly formed) complex that to have a heated indoor pool would be too expensive but this was their vision for Veranda, I hope this makes some sense and may be the answer we could all be looking for, I have spent some time on the Internet looking into this and have found a website with pictures etc if anybody was interested (the good news is their main office is in Alicante and the UK) As this is my first time on the forum i don't know if I can post this address could somebody please give me advice if they want to know more, anyway, hopefully may get round to meeting people next week as it sounds as if there will be many people visiting Veranda.
Glenn

Hi Glenn,

Welcome! I am Helen Morris and my family and I have purchased an apartment in Block 5.  It was me that started the thread about the swimming pool after we had been there in July and August.  I'm sure you have read the whole "swimming pool" thread by now!  I think that all the people involved in the thread are in agreement that the pool should be open alot more than 5 months of the year and I agree that the other facilities should be open all year  it's just how we can get it sorted.  We personally never considered having to even think about this as we presumed that all of the facilities that we had bought into would be available twenty four seven.  We weren't informed otherwise when we reserved.  Myself and Tricia have emailed Gemma at Keymare regarding this as the Administrator advised that it is them who have decided the opening times.  As of yet I have not had a reply and as far as I know nor has Tricia so the more people that get in touch with Gemma about this the better.  Let me know if you need her email address.

I have never been told anything about the telescopic winter pool house but would be interested in the pics.  You can send a private message with the website address.

Hopefully this will get sorted sooner rather than later otherwise we are all going to have alot of fed up children on our hands

Best Wishes

Helen

Hi Glenn, you are very welcome to the forum.

We have bought in block 5 and completed the end of July. We are now looking forward to our first visit next week. Myself and Anthony (the other half) and Ciaran (10) will be coming over for the week. We have an older son Brian (22) but he wont be travelling with us this time. We are also going out again in Oct for mid term break with Antos sister, partner and son, so they will be our first visitors, and just yesterday we booked flights for just after christmas for 8 days, so it should feel like home after that.

I remember being told that the pool shape was changed all right but I cant recall anything about the telescopic winter pool house. We bought into Veranda because it was small and had the facilities we wanted, the pool and spa and (stupidly maybe) we assumed that these would be available all year round. I think that now there seems to be a good group of us in agreement that at the first meeting in Sept (i think) we might be able to get this sorted. After all this is our complex and it will be up to the community to deceide what they want.
I dont think you can do PM until you have posted 10 times, but when you can will you send me details of telescopic winter pool house. I will google it in the mean time and see what I can find.
Might get to say hi in person if you still around when we get there.
Best of luck and I hope all goes well with your completion and you get to stay on the complex this week.

Best wishes
Tricia

Hi Colin and Gayle,  you are very welcome to the forum. This is great that we are getting more and more people involved. The more people we can get involved the better it will be for us all for the future of the community on Veranda.
I emailed Gema  in KM office during the week, to let her know of our concerns about the opening times for the pool and spa. I also asked her had they a date picked for the meeting, but I havnt heard anything back from her yet. I will contact her again during the week, and maybe pop into the office when we are out next week if I dont hear anything in the meantime.
I do hope they give us a good bit of notice so we can organise to go out for it.
Nice to hear from you, and please keep in touch and let us know how you feel about pool and spa, and any other issues that arise.
I have just seen your other post Colin, we will be out for Halloween too, and hopefully we will have a pool for the boys to swim in, our son Ciaran is 10 and loves swimming. Good to know there will be other kids out for halloween, maybe we can organise to do trick or treat for them all.
Take care
Tricia

Hi everyone, We are completing this week. We were also told about a possible winter covering for the pool. It would have to be agreed by the community and might be quite a high extra cost initially, however long term it may be worth while.

Best of luck with your completion Maud, hope all goes well.

The covering for the pool is an option we can have a look at, and as you said it will be up to the community to deceide. The more input we have from as many owners as possible the better. I googled telescopic  winter pool covering and loads of different companies are  offering the service, plenty of photos etc to see how it would look.

Best of luck
Tricia
