Congrats!  We too have just completed on Veranda, Block 3 first floor.
As with you, everything seemed to go smoothly for us (time will tell).  We are due to go over in August, so hope all is well with Water, Electric and Aircon!!.
Best of luck to you with your new apartment.
Any advice on where to buy interior and exterior lighting would be appreciated.
Kind Regards
Shirley

Many congraulations to you Richard and Jackie, and Shirley glad to hear everything went smoothly for you all. Our solicitor is making appointment in Notarys office for next week...so fingers crossed. We will also be out in August, the last week and cant wait to see it all and meet some of our new neighbours we are in block 5.  Maybe we can all contact through PM nearer visiting and see who is around. I know from other forums they reccommend not to post exact address and dates of holidays for security reasons.

Best wishes to you all. Tricia and Anthony

Thanks Tricia,

Will certainly PM when we are due to go out there.  We're really looking forward to seeing how things have finished up on the development.
We'll be out initially to get the essentials in place so we can start just going out to enjoy the weather and surroundings!!

Cheers, Shirley

Hi everyone,

We are just back from Veranda after completing last Thursday.  We are block 5 and we are really delighted with our apartment.  There wasn't any major snagging and all the water and electrics, air con etc were fine.

I would like to say a massive thank you to Dave Baxter who came and fitted our lights, bathroom cabinets, pictures etc etc.  He made a fantastic job and on top of that he is a mind of information on the area so helped us out with many questions we had.  We would highly recommend him to anyone and if anyone does want his details then please pm me.  He does a cracking job and at a very reasonable price.

We are back on Veranda at the beginning of August and in October so hopefully we will get a chance to meet some of our neighbours.

Good Luck

Helen & David Morris

Many congratulations Helen and David, so glad to hear all went well for you. We shouldnt be too long now hopefully the next couple of weeks and we will be done. We not out until the end of August so wont get the chance to say HELLO in person.

I agree with you about Dave. Himself and Anita are a great team. We have some work lined up for him too in August....hope he not worn out by then!!!! They were a great help to us when we rented on Thalassa in May (they are keyholders), and even got some shopping in for us for our arrival, again I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. It is such a comfort to know they are there and living so close to our complex...just in case.

Again many congratulations to you both and have a great visit in August. Tricia and Anthony

Hello neighbours!!

Now that we've completed (and for those about to complete), we have been wondering if we should change the locks on the door of our apartment.  We've read too many bad reports of things that happen just as a development starts being lived in....

Has anyone else considered doing this?, or in fact already changed their locks? If so, is it easily done or do we need to call in the locksmith?

Look forward to hearing any views.

Cheers
Shirley

I have just got off the phone to our solicitor, our deeds will be signed next Monday 28th...it is such a relief to know we are almost there. Fingers crossed there will be no last minute hitches.
Shirley I remember speaking to somebody about changing locks on completion, and they did not recommed it. It was something to do with access by the developer if there are any problems or repairs to be done in your absence. Maybe if you post on Thalassa forum someone there might be able to advise.
Best wishes to all
Tricia and Anthony

Hi Tricia

Good Luck for your completion. I hope everything goes well for you.

With regard to changing locks, you will read on the general forum that no question, you should change the locks. However, you are also correct that if there are any snagging issues, access will be required by KM to complete them.

If they do the same as they did on Thalassa, they will issue you with 4 keys & Key Mare will retain one. You can ask for the remaining key to be given back to you at any time.

I don't know if the locking systems are the same as on Thalassa but one of our neighbours is a locksmith in the UK & he has said that it would be very difficult to change the locks because the locking system puts the bolts into the doorframe on BOTH sides of the door.

If it is the same, you also get a credit card thingy which apparently in conjunction with an Allen type key, which I believe you can only get from KM, will allow you to change the locking system code. I haven't done it & I don't know of anyone who has.

Again, I hope all goes well for you & maybe we will see you in August. There is a night out on the 19th & 26th August if anyone is interested in socialising with their Thalasian neighbours. I have about 6 places left on the 19th & 10 left on the 26th on a first come first served basis. Please send me a PM by Saturday evening if you are interested as I have to confirm the numbers.

Regards

Noreen

Thanks a million for good wishes Noreen, and hope to see you in August. Thanks for information about locks, I do think the locking system is the same as on Thalassa. I am going to PM you now re night out.

Hi Tricia, and Noreen

Thanks for the information.  I'm a bit paranoid 'cos I've spoken with people from here who bought out in Murcia - and on there complex they had an increadible number of burglaries which they could only put down to the keys falling into the wrong hands during construction......  Hopefully the way Keymare operate is much stricter security wise.

All the best
Shirley

Hi everyone,
Just got back from Spain last night - the complex is looking great with still plenty of activity going on as they are trying to get all the finishing touches sorted out eg the grass around the pool is a bit patchy & lumpy in places but it's good to see that it's being dealt with.
Unfortunately we were let down on our completion date which was a bit annoying and also quite stressful as I had flights booked and suddenly nowhere to stay.  Thankfully Debbie & Kevin allowed us to rent their apartment for 4 days which was a God send.
We should have completed the previous week and kept emailing and phoning Juan who kept saying not to worry he'd keep us informed.  Finally on Friday when we phoned he informed us that he'd made an appointment with the Notary for the following Friday (the day I was coming home!) which meant I had 2 days to sort out accommodation and bearing in mind the schools had just broken up - it wasn't easy but thankfully Debbie & Kevin came to the rescue.
In the end I decided signing on Friday would be fine.  It would give just enough time to get a few basics sorted before leaving for home.  Then on Wednesday Juan rung me on my mobile in Spain to say that the Notary couldn't do Friday after all and it would be Monday at 12.00 (probabaly the same as you Tricia), so I could get the keys next time I come out (September).  By this time in addition to all the stuff I had carted out in my suitcase, I'd also bought a whole lot more!!!  In fairness I don't think it was entirely down to Juan but that didn't help.  Key Mare were very supportive and did actually allow me into the apartment again so that I could at least have another look and check with Dave Baxter where various light fittings etc are going, but understandably they couldn't acually allow anything to be left there.
As it is, Dave has kindly agreed to collect the keys from the Notary for us so he will be able to go ahead and sort out a few jobs for us.
Anyway, despite all that, we had a lovely few days enjoying the sunshine and the pool and a bit of time off work and also meeting a few of our neighbours - now as you can guess, I'm already counting the days until our next visit and in fact might just keep an eye out for reasonably flights in the meantime, just in case I can manage a few days.
Hope everything goes smoothly for everyone else.
Take care,
Pauline

Many congragulations to Pauline and Noel who completed yesterday also.
Best of luck to everybody else close to compleation.
Take care, and looking forward to meeting some of our new neighbours over the next few months.
Best wishes

Many Congratulations Tricia & Anthony!

I imagine you will be counting the days until you go.  It's great when you get there and it's actually all yours.

We go out again next week and hopefully this visit will be a little more like a holiday as we don't have anymore bits and pieces to buy.

Have a great time when you get there and hope to meet you soon.

Helen & David

It certainly is a great feeling to know that there is your very own 'place in the sun' to escape to.  With all this talk of everyone going out in August, I wish I was hopping on a plane too but I think we'll have to hang on until September.
Those of you who are headed for Spain soon, have a great time.  It's all looking pretty good there and the pool is lovely.
Pauline
