I have information today that suggests it is game over for SJ .It seems the whole chain is about to go under .Their  own shareholders have  taken them to court for misappropriation of funds , fraud etc .What can we do ? We don't have to  pay SJ right now if they go down so does your money. Why would you pay your money , when there is no guarantee that utilities will in turn be paid for  .
I hate to predict but no matter what you pay you are still going to be cut off  .Please be careful\ .The situation right now is crucial . Do nothing now !!!!  you will need your money to take care of the  mess SJ have left behind them. . JA

Julie Anne - I don't know where this latest information came from but I'd like to just add my comments/opinion.   As you probably know, two Spanish guys resident at El Pinet have arranged with SJ administrators that we all (that is, those who have the deeds to their property) pay 60 euros a month from September to December, to try to safeguard the supply of water and electricity.  This amount is regardless of whether you live there all year, part year or hardly at all and regardless of size of property.   I know some people are saying this is unfair, and of course it's unfair, but in order to support the guys who are acting on our behalf, to whom I am most grateful, and to keep the supplies going,  I feel we should all go along with this as it would be impossible at this stage, without meters, to work out who should be paying what.   I don't know what your situation is regarding El Pinet, Julie Anne, but if you are an owner, then all I would say is that 240 euros is a small price to pay to keep the utilities going until such time as we can all have our own meters or at least can work out a fairer way of allocating costs.    If you are still waiting for your property to be finished, then I sympathise with you and can understand your frustration, but that is a different scenario.    If SJ do go under, as you are saying they will, then ok we lose the first 60 or 120 euros or whatever we'll have paid, but hopefully would be able to set up the payments to go straight to the electricity and water companies direct.   All this is nothing to do with what we feel about SJ or what's legal or not, it's just common sense and trying to make the best of a bad job.

Carole I completely understand your point and yes there is no choice but to pay to keep supplies going for all .But it does not change the fact that SJ have acted  illegaly in the past  and I dont think they can be trusted to pay the utility companies. I think they will use the money in other ways . Is it not possible to pay the money direct to the water and electric  companies on behalf of residents thus whatever happens the supplies would be safer . I really dont know and like you appreciate  the time and effort Felix ,  Cherry et al put in to help and keep everyone in the loop.I really hope I am wrong but I think SJs situation is much worse than they are making out .I dont see what choice anyone has but could the supplies still be cut can  SJ be trusted to pay the money  over I am not convinced.

Hello

It is the administrators who are now in control of San Jose finances so if the electricity is cut off after the residents pay  then it is the administrators who will have acted illegally. It is the administrators job to keep the business afloat and get as much revenue in as possible, they have been appointed by the judge to see that things are done right and i do not see why they would lie to the residents as they are independent of San Jose.

Julie Anne are you a owner or part owner at El Pinet?

To everyone on this thread.

Make your own minds up about your particular circumstances on El Pinet, dont let the cybebullying get in your way.  The best help you can get is from your lawyers.

Just got back from El Pinet on Friday. Nothing has changed. A small JCB was uplifted from the building compound area on Thursday morning which I am told by a friend in the trade may not necesarilly be a worrying sign (plant equipment sitting doing nothing for a few years makes no money for anyone.). For the record, I have paid the 60 Euros per month that has been requested, as like many others a feel that not to do so would leave us in an even worse situation. 240 Euros more is worth the gamble!! The value of our properties will drop far more tha 240 Euros if the site is left unfinished. No-one would touch it with a barge pole and the properties may become un-sellable. I cannot see that there is any choice but to go along with Felix's agreement and at least call the administrators bluff.

Has anyone heard from Felix or Paco about the meeting the other day with SJ and the admin? Roomer has it that we will be paying more money for the next year

If  this is their flag ship site and they want it finished why are there only two people going around El Pinet pulling weeds and turning my water off (after I had just paid €120)

I would like to thank Felix, Paco and others for keeping us informed and their time spent emailing and attending meetings.

I also think that €60 is a sum that is fair for now !!  But just think what they doing with the €72,000 and if we paid for another year that would be about €216,000

As for the administrators, did/has anyone's legal advisors spoken out against SJ ??
