Back from Condado

We are J784  if you are close i'm sure you will hear the kids before you see us!! they are sooooo looking forward to getting out there.

Any ideas where the bar is? I only know the cafe and supermarket.

I'm in garden 8, next garden.  The bar I believe is a bar/cafe next to the supermarket.  I don't know about your kids I'm sooooooo looooking forward to getting out there again

welcome to the forum and congratulations on your completion, feels good doesn't it?

The bar is the Cafe, you can't miss it if you are in Jardin 7,  you'll meet lots of nice people in there as there's nowhere else to go yet!  Once everyone has a couple (of expensive drinks) people start chatting and we found everyone really friendly.  Quite a few were from this forum, but no one know what each other looks like even though we've all been chatting for ages.

It's a long story but we actually bought the Terrazas apartment before the Condado one.  The Terrazas apartment at the moment will be about a year or so late and the Condado one a year early from the original dates we were given. I have moved 4 times in relation to the Terrazas apartment but I have adopted the Spanish way of thinking in relation to that one - oh whatever, whenever, sometime, maybe !!!!  I personally don't want it yet until the economy recovers so it suits me that it is not built yet.......

what will you do when you have to choose between the two?? or are you renting one out?

Don't know to be honest, we will probably see which site we prefer and keep that one for ourselves and rent the other one out - or I might just get selfish again and keep them both just for firends and family although come to think of it some of my family don't stand a cat in hells chance of going - if you know what I mean !!!!!!   you can choose your friends etc etc

Just back today [8th] Just a little info for you all. Concerning the flooding problem, under the door, if you look at the bottom of the hinge side there is a little button that sticks out when the door closes this button is pushed in by the frame and it lowers a rubber seal, if you have had a water problem try unscrewing the button a little at a time [don't unscrew it too much] and look under the door to see if you can see a gap if you can try a little more. If its working properly you can hear it scrape the floor just the last couple of inches before it shuts. Also after having a water problem in our bathroom I can tell you that the construction of the walls is double thickness of 12mm plasterboard on each side of metal framing and all pipes and electrics run through the middle of the framing.

dont forget to get your discount card with your welcome pack from the snagging office after completion which gives 10% discount in the bar

We returned from visiting Condado on Monday. Fantastic weather in between 2 heavy weeks of rain!
Did NIE with PW on Wednesday - they were helpful and took us through the queues to the front although it wasn't too busy.

Went to look at penthouse with Parador but felt rushed and restricted. Pool was great but lots of midges by fence to course.

I escaped to look at area near clubhouse (no activity) and went on roof. At this time she was calling my mobile trying to find out where I was but I didn't have it with me. Made her drive to Foro which she didn't know was there.

Went back on last day to do snagging - one thing she did do was arrange that while we were over although it was 3 weeks before completion. Did snag with PW rep who didn't think it was a problem that there was paint and marks everywhere.

Decided to pay for a clean immediately after notary (16E hour).

Washer cupboard wasn't as big as expected - boiler takes up a lot of room. Grass on lawn knitted together well. Apt looked bigger than expected. Some strange positionings of sockets and light fittings.

Golf course looked good on 1st visit but 5 days later could see the progress made. 10th and 11th holes really taking shape and looking green. If your ball rolls off the fairway near the lake don't expect to see it again!

 Great views from block 10. Met someone from block 6 who were very disappointed with their outlook. Didn't realise they were down the hill and really loved our position at the top!

Were putting concrete in the footings of the Foro - should be laying bricks shortly. 

Couldn't find our way in to the bar - drove round the road could see it but couldn't find a way in.

On our way home went via Totana and could see penthouses at the top of the hill from miles away!

Went to Mazarron and it was completely dead - very few bars/restaurants open.

Nice little bar under the rocks in Bol Nuevo which didn.t look much until you went round the back and found a beautiful pool with about 12 gorgeous hol apartments surrounded by bouganvilla and other mature exotic vegetation.

Glad to hear most things went well and glad to hear that block 10 has excellent positioning.  We originally went for block 4/5 and our sales rep, not PW told us these blocks were in front of the driving range so we  chose again and again it was our sales rep who advised Block 10 overlooking the lake, said best positioning out of all the penthouses, sounds like he was right, yiphee

Have you managed to buy all your furniture, or is that pleasure still to come.  

Flying over Sunday to shop till we drop, sorry we are going to miss you both.
