Hi Everyone,

We said we wouldn't do it but we did, we have our keys( had to get my handbag reinforced to carry them) with no Hab Cert.

Simon and I had a ball, we shopped from 8.30am till 11.00pm one night, didn't eat much as we had very little time, slept very little due to no aircon in hotel room (aircon switched off for winter), and we clocked up around  800 miles in 4 days.  We have purchased everything except outdoor furniture. We did get  Red Leather sofa bed, TV unit, and tall wall unit, lamp table shelfing, dinning table + 4 chairs, lighting, lamps, pillows, duvets(just incase in gets cold) kitchen goods and crockery, fridge freezer, washing machine,  THE LOT and under budget. Penthouses living area can take more furniture than the jardines, so therefore will cost more to furnish.  Simons not a happy man.

Simon now knows to the minute how long it takes to travel from one junction to another.  He hates the RM2 + 3 as we were never off these.  His conversational spanish lessons certainly helped when conversing with the locals.  His driving is just the same over there as it is here, erratic, he was trying to tell the locals how to drive in their own country.  Well he is a man,?

Our solicitor was late arriving at the Notaries, so we decided to do some shopping while waiting for him, but in our rush to return to the Notaries, Simon didn't notice Grampa Jim trying to beat him round the roundabout on his push bike and I had to scream at the top of my voice LOOK OUT, Simon turn his head, and swerved to avoid him but  in the process  didn't notice the other person on the crossing  on another push bike, yes I said crossing just after the roundabout and proceeded to collide with them instead.  Fortunately he had slowed to a conservative 20mph by that time and the collision was only tyre to tyre.  No injuries or bumps on car but what a day.

Carol was just scrummy and Ash and Tom a delight. He gives free lessons on how  to defend yourself if you ever get broken into, so now Si has no excuse to even get out of bed, he will just send me, thanks for that Tom.

Our snagging was completed by Snagitmurcia on the Friday before we flew out, and on the Wednesday when we visited our apartment there were two men in it hard at work on our snagging list and the same on the Friday.  Shootie in boys.

The golf course, god help you all.  When we visited and blagged our way in on the Monday the golf course was looking good. By the Friday, the tee position, green and walk way in front of block 10 had all been marked out, rolled and covered with whatever they are using.  The course is very undulating to say the least but in looks fantastic.  We were advised that the first 9 holes will be ready to play round about Springtime.

Penthouse Show apartment has now moved from block 10 to block 7 but was closed for maintainence the week we were there, so I had to stamp my feet, when she told us to come back next Tuesday.  I was not amused. A few choice works were used like,
get to fxxx, no my husband calmly asked to speak to someone in authority, explained our situation and hey presto we were allowed in to measure up. Thank god for my lovely husband.

We laughed at every situation that arose and came back two very happy people as Carol will tell you.

We are back out in December to dress the rest of the apartment and if I can get myself a part-time job hubby has advised we will not have to rent. So i'm away to apply for some jobs now, as noone is getting in not even family, only me.

Ali & Si

Hi Ali & Si - Congratulations once again on completing - I think we're slowly coming round to maybe completing if our HC doesn't come through soon - Today is another date we were given but if it doesn't happen I think we may give them to the end of the month and then give in - I just can't bear the thought of going out there again in November and it still not being ours - Logically, we keep thinking, PW have already got 40%, our solicitor has the other 60%, what have we got? Nothing! So if we complete, HC or not, then at least we'll have somewhere to go and chill and until the HC comes through, PW will be paying the bills???? --- PS It's nice to see yet another positive post, oh! and welcome back

Hi Carol,

Thanks for the use of your loo, my mother always said I should write a book on lavatories, cause she says I speak a load of sh_t. My youngest daughter was 9lb 14oz when she was born so I find it hard to hold on.  Need to do some pelvic floor exerises, does Tom know anything about that ( maybe you shouldn't ask him). I have told Lucy that I have found her a boyfriend
and she is looking forward to meeting up with Tom when we come out, tell Tom she will be 7 in January, she has blue eyes the size of swimming pools, and blonde hair.

Lulu ( this is how we spell in in Scotland)

Hi Ali & Simon - Have you come back down to earth yet? Can almost feel your excitement from here, loving it - Just a little question - What is the whole area of Los Naranjos looking like now? Especially up the top round the villa Jana area? Just wondered how much it has changed, only been about a month since we were there but things change so fast. Also, how is the foro going? Many thanks

Hi everyone

Firstly, thanks Carol for letting us know the beds have arrived. At least we'll have something to sleep on in December, even if nothing else arrives.

We are just about calming down, being back to work in the Financial Services industry on a cold wet Glasgow Monday morning certainly helps!!  We can't wait to get back out there (8 1/2 weeks and counting).

Thw whole area around Los Naranjos is looking good.  When we were there they were putting in the kid's play areas between Block 14-15, and all of the outside lights in the communal stairwells and outside of the doors.  The pools between Blocks 9-10 and 12-13 were completed and full, but in my opinion could do with draining and cleaning as I think a lot of dust had blown in and settled at the bottom of the pools.  There was still a large area of open ground opposite Block 12 &13 I think.  Not sure what this is going to be used for.  There is a gap for the future clubhouse to be built but no sign of any work being done though.  The Foro and Golf Course on the other hand are coming on a pace and between our visits on Monday, Wednesday and Friday you could see new things happening all the time.

Must confess we didn't see too much of the Villa Jana area other than to notice that they are up but still had to be painted etc.

We didn't take a great many pictures as most of what we could have taken outside has already been posted, and as you will have read earlier, we were being timed for our measuring up of the show apartment so it was in and out as fast as we could.  We did take some more of the golf course from the balcony and I'll try and post these, and we'll definitely post some in December once the apartment is furnished.

Having now been and seen the place at first hand, my thoughts about the glass being 1/2 full have certainly been confirmed.  Even at this stage the place looks great and in a few years time I have no doubts it will look even better.  I for one am certainly pleaed about our investment.

If any of you are out between 19-24th Dec (I know it's near Christmas), we'd love to meet up for drink or 2.  if not I'm sure we'll see you soon enough.

Cheers

Simon
