Decided to call this posting good news as there is a lot of negative threads on this forum. More on the good news later.
Like Kev and Elaine we visited Condado for the first time since signing as it was only a building site a year ago. Like wise we where unable to complete as our COH for our penthouse in block 11 (1136) was unavailable. We stayed for a week arriving late Sat (18th) at a fellow forum members place on Jardin 13.
On the Wednesday we went with Polaris to get our NIE numbers in Murcia, straight forward as Polaris did all the work, we went for a coffee, came back to the government buildings to pick up NIE numbers at front door from Policeman. Later that day we met Trevor from SnagitMurcia to snag our apartment, found no major problems, cracked tiles, breakfast bar not square, warped shelf in wardrobe, and splashes off paint. Before we left we could see from the roof that the builders had replaced the tiles on the balcony.
On the Thursday we met with Banco Popular to sign up for the builders mortgage, all went very smoothly, a lot easier than previous experiences by email and telephone. I would recommend if taking a Spanish mortgage it would be easier to do it in person.
On Friday we went to the notary to sign our POA with our solicitor. Our solicitor insisted that a paragraph be add that stated that the reason for the POA was as a result of Polaris World and no breach of contract on our side.
The rest of the week was spent touring around dozen’s of furniture shops, we final went for our furniture with DFS who gave us a good discount on individual items.
Also visited Murcia, Cartagena, San Javier, Port Mazzoron, and Camposol, plenty of DIY, electrical appliances and furniture stores.
Now for the good news, after three attempts to get into the penthouse show apartment and a heated debate with the customer service rep, we where shown around by a very talkative and informative gentleman who was also very enthusiastic about the development and wasn’t needing any prompting to give an update on progress.
1. Goff course to be completed May 2009 and playable August 2009.
2. Second golf course to be laid out May 2009.
3. Foro expected to be completed in May 2009.
4. Next to the foro is a sports area with 2 x seven a side football pitches, cricket pitch and bowling green.
5. The public area out with the perimeter fence, a decision will be made in Jan 2009, but he thinks they will be starting with the government office first. The plans are also for Medical Centre, Fire Station, Sports Facilities, and School.
6. No mention of OASIS.
7. Plans are still for golf club house in between the penthouses, was a little confused when this was expected to start as he talked about a temporary clubhouse (Breakdown in Language Barrier)
8. Further access gates to open November 2008.

Based on our visit we are now convinced we have made the right decision. A car is essential for Condado due to the location and also the vast area that the complex covers.
