For everyones Info.
I have been contacted by Azure Property, our keyholders, to inform me that the Key for our mailbox can now be collected from the Call Centre. you need to take along your passport for ID.
Also PW have posted a notice stating that they are installing all the electric meters in the Jardines from 19th November.

Hi everybody
We are planning to go over on the 19th/20th December for two weeks and we know that we have our water meter connected. We have emailed PW Customer Services to ask for electricity to be connected and they have replied back that they will not be able to connect us to builders supply because the metres are being connected at the moment. They have told us that ours should be connected by the 19th. We feel a bit worried about this as we don't want cold showers in the dark for 2 weeks. Can anybody let us know how far they have got with the metres and what Jardins are they up to at the present time. and are they working one Jardine at a time.
Would be grateful for any info about the progress.

We are in Jardin 5 and they fitted ours while we were there on the 26th Novemebr.
Only got one free day on the builders supply

We know Carol was asked for our key this week, for the meter to be installed. However nothing has come out of our account yet- so cant confirm anything- we are Jardine 8.

We are in jardin 8 and ours was fitted on 28th Nov when we were over. Workmen wandered it, twiddled in the box, left wire on the floor and went.... I assume that was what they were doing

Hi John/Val,
We were over last week from Sun 23rd to Thurs 27th. I had confirmed with Polaris for builders suppy to be connected. We arrived to no electricity because the entire block had been handed over to Iberdrola for meter fitting. After first three days on candle power and sports centre 'refreshing' showers, I insisted they re-connected me to builders power so I could service test the electrical appliances more than anything else (can cope with roughing it a little now then). What with the cool evenings and a double bed 50% narrower than ours at home, it was the closest Mrs E has got to me in a couple of years !! Was re-connected on the Wednesday morning and up to leaving on Thurs p.m. there had been no sign of meter installations. Sounds like they have started doing it in Jardines 8 around about then according to what Kazzy says here. I think they were working their way up from jardines 4 when we were there.
I picked up our mailbox key while we were there.

Hi Guys,
We spoke to PW last week and they said that ours wouldn't be done until early next year and that they were only up to jardine 4. We are in jardine 7 and don't want to get there in 3 weeks time and arrive to no heating? I thought it would have been a straight changeover. De-connect one after the other was fully functional. Am I being a typical woman here and is there more to it?

I thought once we were connected to the mains then that would be an end to the occasional power cut but halfway through drying my hair on sunday it went off again (1 side curly 1 side straight )
So I'm not actually sure we were on mains or they just installed the main switch in the fuse box, I didn't go to see if the meter was going round. Maybe it still is builders supply, they were in and out of most of the apartments and maybe the swich over will all be at the same time once they are finished the mains swiches.

It is no big deal for Polaris to put you back onto builders supply. The electrician was at our apartment for no more than five minutes where he re-connected something in the main fuse box just inside the front door and also did something in the meter cabinet on the outside wall of the back patio. They are obliged to keep you connected as part of habitation cert' conditions.

Hi everybody
Thanks for all your replies and messages. As Will & Jackie said I think you are absolutely right about asking PW to put us back on builders supply if the meter is not connected before we arrive, as you say they should be obliged to do that under the habitation cert. So therefore I think we will insist, as we cant be the only ones in this position that will be going over at Christmas and dont like the idea of no heating in the chilly evenings.
As for Mike & Dawn, you were a bit unlucky to have only one day free electric.
We'll keep the pressure on PW to do something about this.

Hi All,
I am not sure if this is connected ( excuse the pun) , but did anyone notice that the huge generator on the right on the way out was not running over the weekend, maybe this is an indication of the amount of properties that have been switched over to mains power, I should also mention that I did plug out the water heater just in case we would be switched over and for safety reasons when we left for home.

Although we were ok yesterday, friends in Jardin 2 had been without electricity for 3-4 hours when we spoke to them. Maybe related to the generator that wasn't running ?
