Well done Sping.
It certainly brought back some memories. I really enjoyed the video. Its so cold here at the moment I think I can feel a water bottle coming on and a nice warm blanket, Think we are going to get some more snow/sleet tonight. You are very lucky to have sunshine because I have heard there has been an unusual amount of rain fall in spain this year.
Thanks for brightening up my evening,
Chrissie

Hi Chrissie,
Unfortunately, like you I sit at home looking at the frost on the car, the ice on the roads and weighting for the predicted snow to fall.
The Video was shot last September when we were over last. Hopefully I will keep shooting and post the results from time to time so that we can all sit back and dream of the Sun, Sea and Sangria…….
Sping.

Sping (love the name)
We were also in Spain last September, it seems like years ago. We had a look around Playa Golf and really liked it. We have some options open to us but as yet we dont know where we will end up. The bad economic climate is being felt all over the planet and it's hard to know what to do at the moment. We will just have to wait for a while and dream of the warm weather.
Keep up the good work with the pictures and vids. Wrap up warm, it hasnt really thawed out today from the heavy frost last night so it should be fun and games on the way to work tomorrow morning.
Regards Chrissie

True - but we do have a wonderful Spanish restaurant - Don Marianos - and a spanish bar - Los Angeles.
What I like about the place is that there is a lot of choice - we are in a peaceful location but close to both the commercialised areas (yes, mainly British) and the spanish towns like San Miguel and San Pedro del Pinatar. A lot of people come here because it is close to the beach and three amazing golf courses The population is mainly British, Irish, German and Scandanavian but it really doesn't take much effort to get into the Spanish way of life, if that is what you are looking for.
I know it's not for everyone, but we have the beginnings of a real community here and I think I have the best of both worlds!

Hi claire T . I don't mean to criticise but alot of the "Urbanisations " I have seen in Spain are very stand alone and are not truly a part of Spanish life or society . They seem to be little enclaves of the UK all be it in Spain but life goes on as if the residents are still in the UK . I find the whole Urbanisation thing distasteful in the extreme .Regards JA I

Well, you sound a little critical, I have to say. Urbanisation may not be to your taste, but different opinions don't make one person right and one person wrong, just different and thank goodness for that, otherwise the price of every rural finca in Spain would be sky high and the urbanisations would be empty.
Vive la difference!

Hi Julie Anne
Correct me if I'm wrong - and I know you will! - but aren't you buying a property on an urbanisation, albeit not on on Playa Golf?
I agree with you, in so far as we have realised that life on an urbanisation is not for us, and now that we are living in the Spanish town of Jumilla, we have decided that is what we want to do, so it is fortunate in a way that we won't be living on the urbanisation at SADM (at least it will be fortunate if we ever get our money back!).
However I can see why many people don't want to do what we're doing - especially when we are struggling to make ourselves understood in Spanish! - and also agree with Nikki. If everybody who has bought in Playa Golf had decided they wanted to live inland, the prices of property in Spanish towns would escalate and put them out of our reach.

I and others have said this on this and other forums; before you think of buying a property abroad think hard and long as to the reasons for your decision. Visit the area you whish to purchase in and if possible rent a property there so that you get to know the area.
As Suemac and Nikkiseal have said, we are all different and have different needs. We bought on Playa Golf because it is close to both the golf courses and the beaches, also it is central to some of the Spanish cities like Alicante, Murcia, Cartejena. So for us it’s a great place to buy. It might interest you to know that we do have several Spanish families that have bought properties on playa golf for the same reasons as us, e.g. as a holiday home.
If you have watched the video and found the place not to your liking, well then the video has served its purpose and informed you.
The other positive side to buying a property on an urbanisation like Playa Golf is that we are not taking away the traditional homes of the Spanish people and hopefully not having too much of an impact on young people who are after a new home to start their lives.
I hope you find the property of your dreams and are happy with it.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Feliz Navidad y un feliz año nuevo.
god jul og et Godt Nyttår.
Wesołych Świąt i szczęśliwego nowego roku.
Joyeux Noël et une heureuse nouvelle année.
Frohe Weihnachten und ein glückliches neues Jahr.
To each and every one of you!

Well well well !
Julie Ann isn't content with spouting her vitriol on the Santa Ana website - she's now honouring us with her 'expert' opinion on what's wrong with every urbanisation in Spain.
Apparently if JA doesn't like it then its not right regardless of what the rest of the world thinks. (Read her constant bitching and criticisms on the Jumilla message boards if you want evidence of that).
Were you not buying in Jumilla JA ? If so, what exactly did you expect that 'urbanisation' to turn out like?
If you were not buying there, why did you feel the need to poke your nose in? The same goes for Playa Golf. If you aren't buying there - please butt out ! I happen to like Playa Golf.
I think it is time for you to try a new hobby. The hobby you have right now of trawling message boards just to have a gripe is really quite sad. You say you don't mean to criticise, but that in fact is ALL you do !

Well said, Tomaso17.
It is great to have such loyalty and friendliness surrounding our community at Playa Golf and THAT'S why we all love it.
Our director moved out to Playa Golf ll last Saturday and has been greeted with so much help and friendliness - it's truely remarkable and heartwarming. Great community spirit abounds in Playa Golf. Long may Playa Golf continue to attract like-minded individuals who are prepared to help each other and extend the hand of friendship whilst bonded in their common quest to explore a foreign land
All best wishes to fellow Playa Golf owners and a big thank you for those who are supporting us in our new venture
Nikki
