How has this community of owners been set up, are they a company employed by PW? Its good that this problem was dealt with but how do they decide what needs to be 'dealt' with?

Hi Geoff & thread readers in general,

That can be the trouble with e-mails or the 'written text' - it isn't always read in the spirit that it was written. I think you will find that as things get organised, there will be clarification of the rules that are 'cast in stone' and those that are to be treated with a degree of discretion. I don't think any resident has the right to tell any other neighbour or otherwise what they can & can't do - this will be the duty of the property management/community of owners. If they apply the conditions as they have been accepted in contract by all of the buyers, then everyone should live happily ever after. Got to remember that threads on this forum are only opinions, and that's all.

Never actually thought of being part of the committee either way Geoff, but If I though I could spare the time (work full time in UK and nowhere near retirement yet) for the greater good of all, then maybe would be willing to help out where possible as things develop.

Regards,

Hi Bill,

I agree with you totally and you sound to me like you probably have the attitude and knowledge, that could potentially be an asset to a committee. (time permitting) Best wishes. Geoff.

I just pi** myself laughing every time I see this picture.   If Geoff needs any eveidence of why  we need a few key rules on the develoment this is it!!

I am amazed this hideous construction has survived as long as it has without a hit squad going round & pulling it down.  I am pleased as punch I don't live on Jardine 9.........Imagine living next door to that.

Happy Christmas to all on Jardine 9...........

Nick

It  might be worth keeping  in mind that in the summer temperatures regularly reach 40 plus so some kind of canope is a must.

The other thing to note is that come Oct/Nov/beg Dec (changes sometimes )and Feb/March we have tremendous winds that will rip most canopes/pegolas/awnings,and maybe even that wooden structure cleanly away.  So if you are thinking of erecting some sort of sunshade, make sure its taken down during the winter months.

Think its on the far end and to one side of the Jardine overlooking the perimeter road so not as noticable as bang in the middle of one of the blocks. Its the overhang that makes it appear so huge although we thought it seems worse in the pictures than in real life. Going to be fun for someone if they have to try to persuade them to take that down! We also saw several end ground floor apartments that had started to enclose their terraces with lattice style partitians or fencing. I suppose it'll come down to what is considered 'alterations' and whats acceptable for privacy

Hi there,

Paulhill that photo made me laugh so loud my family,

who were in another room came to see what was wrong with me!!!

This thread has been very entertaining.

We will be bringing our 4 rottweilers over with us at Xmas and New Year so don't approach them if you see them because they bite..........just kidding. Just kidding but seriously we double checked before we signed for our property that we would be able to bring our dog (a wee Chihuahua, who doesn't bite) if we chose, and we were told there wouldn't be a problem. We wouldn't have wanted to buy otherwise.

Irresponsible dog owners are a pain, we're certainly not like that.

Incidentally, if our dog ''goes'' in your jardin, it's only small ones so you shouldn't have a problem picking them up. Just kidding!!!

Avril and Stewart

Hi All

Flying out a daft o'clock in the morning and will keep an eye out for the Jardin 5 bloke and his dog.  I know it has nothing to do with Cassie as Cassie is my neighbour on Jardin 2 and has a very responsible Mum and Dad who look after her properly.  I have packed a very large cork in my case and it will be placed in the appropriate place if I catch the dog being allowed to do whatever in any Jardin !!!! and it won't be the dog that gets it !!!!!!

Hi Paul - good work. That is one mighty piece of beef. With a little bit more 'artistic improvisation' I can see images there of a hang glider with pilot or 'Angel of the North' structure quite easily.

Hi Avril - you bringing your chichy-wa-wa in your hand baggage then ?

Hi Smivs - will that be you going to see a 'man about a dog' and arresting him then ?

Regards,

Ha ha Billbo, nope I wont be taking Tanya ( the dog) in my handbag, Stewart carries her in his and if he sees any of that crap going on he's liable to whack that bad dog owner with his handbag, hopefully not with Tanya in it!!!!

Are any of you people with a sense of humour over for Xmas and New Year? It could be fun.

Avril
