Lack of lights at back of Jardines

On Sept 21st there was a 21 hour power cut that affected some of the Jardines but not all. At that point the street lights at the back of the Jardines went off, plus many of the car park street lights between the Jardines.

We have now been back 2 more times since, and they are all still off. We reported it in September, October and now December. Christina in the portacabin says the same thing every time, 'there is a fault but they are working on it'. How bad can the fault be - when all the lights in New York went off, they had everything back on in a couple of days if I remember correctly! 

Has anyone else mentioned this - we'd be interested to know what the response was. Right now it looks like a dangerous cost saving exercise to us.

I got this reply from customer services today about the lights.....

I am writing you to inform that the issues you reported to the Call Center, the outside lights and the bath tap have been sorted out.

I don't know why I got this reply... In fact, I didn't ask them a question about lights....!!!! How responsive is that?? Super service...

I have reported the lack of lighting every week since they went out and yes answer is always we are trying to fix it?

I have blamed Polaris World for damage to my car (another thread) had street lights been on perhaps the other driver may have noticed??

Hi Mick.,

It doesn't matter how dark the roads are, whoever hit your car and caused the damage they knew that they had clipped you and choose not to do the descent thing, although this may have been a contribution, cars still have headlights.

Lights between Jardin 4 and Jardin 5 Calle Iris have been off since September.

Lots of others still out.

I have given up reporting them.

Yes you are right!

We were out over Christmas and the lights were not working then either!

We are going back out on the 14th February so will check. again and If the lights are still not working we will go  to Customer Services and report the problem

I am in Jardin 4 and have reported lights have been out like Mick since October.I fell  in car park when I was out in October as I was carrying shopping to apartment and cut my knee. I reported this and was assured they would be fixed.Next time I was out in November my friend fell at the same spot, ripped her jeans and gave herself a nasty knee and cut elbow.I reported fault again and was assured they would be fixed.I was back out in January and they are still not working.Have given up!Beware if you are carrying shopping as level of pavement in car park is higher than at home and its easy to trip

It is obvious that the lights not working on our Jardin is becoming a health and safety issue

When we were out over Christmas we went to the cafe a couple of nights and I must admit  it was not very nice walking back to our Jardin as the lights were not on and it was pitch black. 

Did you take any photographs of you and your friends injuries?

Just got back from the Ama. (last night) We are in Jardin 5 and the lights between 4 & 5 were working ok.

I am not sure which Jardin 4 & 5 are referred to below, but i can catagorically state that between Jardin 4 and Jardin 5, Calle Iris (Jardines de Alhama) the lights are OUT and have been since the electric storm on 21st Sept 08.

It is a problem as it is very dark, I have reported this to no avail several times.

My guess is as soon as we pay the first community charge they will suddenly illuminate?

Any one driving around Jardines at night will notice quite a few streets are unlit?

This was a real problem last October.  Has anyone contacted the General about it?  Maybe he can pull the right strings.

Just back from 2 days at the apartment and the lights in Calle Iris between Jardin 4 & 5 are definitely out, and its pitch black at night.

Strange because some of the side streets are lit and others are not.  Didn't have time to report it -  I spent have the time on trying to deal with customer services by making 4 attempts on 3 separate days to pick up my mailbox key from the white portakabin but it was locked every time!
