Hi everyone,
been back home a week now - cant wait to come back to the apartment!
Hi Max and Saskia - hope you are well and truly moved in now and Isa is liking her new home. Looking forward to seeing you all in January, any news on our apt snagging! Thanks for all your help whilst we were out in September.
Hi Rene hope you all moved in now and your dad likes the apartment, hope to see you again soon.
Hi westport, was pleased to hear your mum ok after her lock out! Say hello to her from us. We just booked last night to come out from the 27th January - 3rd February, maybe you still out then? We need to do some ikea shopping, hopefully the crowds may be better by then.
See you all soon
Denise and Den

Hi Janmet, Davmunster & others
Bachir and I hope to be in Don Juan - if our lawyer sorts out the electricity(!) - from November 21st until about December 1st or 2nd. We're driving via Bilbao so not sure yet which day we'll be leaving. Would love to meet up for a drink with the neighbours, send me a PM and I can let you have our mobile numbers.
Although we've been driving down to North Africa for over 30 years this is our first time getting the Bilbao ferry as we normally slog it from Calais. Has anyone got experience of this route? I've looked on the general forum and some like it others hate it. It's no quicker than driving just seems less hassle at this time of year.

Hi all
For everyone who will be at Don Juan for Christmas/New Year any suggestions for where to meet ?
I know Westport, Davmunster and of course Max are there but do not know about others - Perhaps we can discuss some of the issues arising prior to the AGM
Anyway see you soon ( 26th - 2nd )

Hi Mozza
Having missed the Calypso meetings we haven’t met many people. We are also aware that some already have commitments for New Year’s Eve and others will want to go into Fuengirola and experience how the Spanish bring in the New Year. With this in mind we’d like to issue an open invitation to friends and neighbours to join us for a drink at our apartment (Blk 6 SSC) for a drink between 8 and 9. As well as an opportunity to meet it is inevitable that informal discussion about the Community will take place. New Year’s Eve is not however an appropriate time for serious discussions and I am happy to join anyone that wants to have a serious discussion – perhaps during the day sometime?
On another note if you want some entertainment on New Year’s Day. Vangy Gary and I will be taking part in a sponsored swim at 2.00PM at the Caribbean Bar – something we agreed to in October when it was still nice and warm!

You really expect us to:
a) be so civilized as to visit you between 8 and 9 and not sit there all night drinking your complete wine and gin collection
b) have some entertainment swimming (sic!) the next morning in the freezing sea with a hangover
It's obvious David didn't meet as much neighbours as I did. It's not uncommon that people leave our house at four o clock in the night only to return 15 minutes later because they locked themselves out on the balcony and had to climb three floors to get back to our frontdoor and their trusty keyholders. Or me to leave at seven in the morning feeling like a twenty year old only to discover in reality I'm early fifty and after doing an allnighter I feel like dying. Or accepting one glass of beer ending up singing along to a bottle of whiskey with my new client. Working for Wetakecare is obviously a dangerous job if you don't want to turn into an alcoholic :)
I know most of you and you seem to have one thing in common...(and unfortunately I seem to share it)

Rereading my own post I realize that it could suggest that David and Vangy would really force you to swim on new years day in exchange for small beer :) Knowing them very well I can assure you that the opposite is true. They will be happy to entertain you endlessly with the small restriction that you have to remember which apartment you are in as they have limited sleeping space :)
It would be nice if we all met at David and Vangy's place for at least one drink as it's a great way to get to know each other. Like I say I know them very well so I'm pretty sure some of you will stay and won't be able to swim properly the next day, but you can always donate to charity without the actual swim. If you're fair you pay twice the normal charity donation if you refuse to swim. I for one will choose that option if it's available :)

Just in case anyone is confused by Max's light hearted posts.....there is no connection between visiting us on New Year's Eve and the sponsored swim we are taking part in on New Year's Day. I am told there will be around 40 swimmers and about 200 who simply turn up to watch - or in the hope of getting themselves on local TV.

Hi Davmunster and others
Having finally got ' over ' our Christmas celebrations we look forward to meeting you all at 8-9 on New years eve - We will definately not be talking 'shop' but just having a good time !
I only mentioned talking about things prior to the AGM because some of us cannot be there and this break will enable us to at least vspeak face to face with our proxy voters - We would like to think we will see you before New Years Eve to maybe have an informal chat.........................We definately do not want to make thing too serious over the holiday
You would not believe how long it is taking me to send this as we have been out all day visiting and to the pub and it is only now that I can relax - We had our Christmas day yesterday
Really looking forward to being there now...........................see you soon Feliz Navidad

Hi everyone
Just wanted to thank Davmunster, Vangy and Gary for their hospitality on New Years Eve and for braving the cold sea for the New Years Day swim !
We had a wonderful evening with some of the neighbours and it was great to meet up with some old faces but to also get to know some new ones -
I don't think any of us disgraced ourselves too much but just in case please accept the apologies now
Again thankyou and we looking forward to seeing you all again soon
Happy New Year to you all

We counted around 30 people who we have met over the New Year period which is really great. All different but all nice people. Don´t worry Mo no one disgraced themselves (well not more than is allowed on New Year´s Eve :)) and the apartment was all clean and tidy before we went for our swim the next morning.

By the way this would be for a social get together, a happy event, to meet some neighbours. Maybe meet in a bar for drinks. The Calypso bar is usually a good place to meet if anyone interested.
