Hi everyone
Just got back from a whistle stop tour to the Condado to check on our latest furniture installation and to see the progress of the site in general. We
weren't that lucky with the weather (best day by far was the day we flew home) but once again left for the airport wishing we could have stayed longer!
Anyway, the site is really starting to take shape -
Golf - work is well under way on the Signature golf course and from certain angles, the fairways are distinguishable (and going green), the buggy tracks are
in place and the greens/bunkers are covered and marked out. There were several Polaris staff in the sales office and they are really starting to gear up for
this year by the sound of things. The temporary clubhouse is scheduled for opening in Aug/Sep with the first golf available in October. The course will
probably 'look' like a proper course in August, but Polaris seem very keen to make sure that it is viewed as the premier Spanish course so they're giving it
a further 6-8 weeks to 'bed in'. Sergio in the office was hinting that there will be an opening ceremony so best check out flights/holiday for October.
The Foro Centre - work has really rattled on at a pace even since our last visit at Xmas. The walls are now up and although we couldn't see exactly what was
going on, it was obvious that work was being done on the 'interior' as well as the outside walls. Estimated opening for the centre is May/June and if they
carry on at this pace then we suspect it will be the former rather than the latter.
There has been a slight change in plan regarding sports facilities. We got the impression that Polaris are having to renegotiate arrangements for the sports
centre with the Murcia government authorities and the complete centre is over a year away. In the meantime, the squash courts in the Jardines are now
completed and the gym will be the next project (the tennis courts are in use now). Also, grass has been laid on the track of land next to the Foro and there
will soon be one full sized football pitch and two 7-a-side pitches.
The La Isla site was very busy and work has begun on the 'moat' which will eventually run around La Isla and around to the main shopping centre. The
nurseries are fully stocked ready for the transfer of trees and plants back onto the site (some of the tree lined areas have been redesigned to have many
more trees than originally planned and will in fact be small woodland copses). The smaller villas are nearing completion and we also noticed a few more
security personnel around the site.
We have also had our roof top awning installed and ordered a dining table for the roof so all in all we are quite pleased and very much looking forward to
our next visit.
We have uploaded photos of much of the above so have a peek and let us know if you have any other info.
We also have a few questions if anyone knows the answers...
Are there any plans to add a Resorthoppa bus route to the Condado from Alicante or San Javier airports?
Anyone know where we can get further info on Corvera airport?
Does anyone know where we can get some inexpensive sunbeds?
Does anyone know where we can buy a road map which includes the RM2 and the RM23 roads?
Thanx
G & B

Really like your awning, if you don't mind my asking, who fitted them for you, and were you pleased with them?
Regards a map, best place to purchase is a petrol station forecourt, they usually have quite a selection, and normally let you have a look at them, before you purchase. We bought ours at the petrol station at Polaris garden centre.

Thank you
We ordered the awning through Murcia Furniture Home Planners and we're very pleased with it. If you call them, ask for Jemma. They have delivered and installed everything in our absence and we've been impressed with the quality and the standard of the work.
We got the overhead cover when we ordered our initial furniture pack but we added the side panel just last month :-)

Hi Gary & Becky and welcome to the forum,
Thanks for the great photos, I don't think any of us ever tire of seeing new photos. So more please.
You asked about a map? The one we have is the Michelin 'Spain & Portugal' map book, (Got ours from Amazon) It shows all the new roads and it is the one that quite a few of us have purchased and recommend

We are in Block 7 of the Penthouses and we completed in November. At that time we were told that 9 holes would open in May and the full 18 in November. It seems from the posts that they are now aiming for October for the full 18 ? As for the Driving Range, this was supposed to be finished in February. Anyone have an update on this? We`ll be down for 3 weeks around Easter, so it would be a welcome addition...

Hi Gents,
Walked the full course yesterday, feedback as follows........
The big plus point was that I was very impressed with the layout - I think it will be a real belter, with some classic risk & reward holes. Although I am I am disapointed with the progress over the last 3 months. Work has definatley slowed up. I personally think there is very little chance of golf on Condado this year, despite earlier postings & PW still talking the talk. I know grass can soon grow under the permanent sunshine & watering but the fairways have not been seeded yet. A couple of them have some scabby grass covering in places, but other than that no covering at all. Greens are looking good & seem very healthy. Some holes on the back nine 14~17 still being landscaped. No work taking place on the course over the w/e just added to by doubts about an early opening.............Sincerley hope I am proved wrong of course but I for one expect to be playing golf at Roda, Hacienda dl Almo etc again this summer. My best estimate is Apr '10. Also visited Sensol Golf at Camposol - although it is handy & quite cheap I was not impressed with the condition of the place. Course in March are normally in good condition at this time of the year but this one is in very bad condition.
Regards
Nick
