Hi Kevin and Debbie.
We were out in Spain last week and after giving the bus service a trial run at New Year we made good use of it again this visit. As it is they run hourly 25 - 20 mins to the hour to Vera and 15 - 20mins past the hour to Mojacar. The times do vary a bit depending on how full they are but if you get to the bus stop about 5 mins early then you should be Okay.
On the way to Vera they stop at Mercadona and opposite Intermarche before Vera Town Centre. Going the other way, there are loads of stops including one at the Consum, Pueblo Laguna, The Plastic Cow Restaurant, Garrucha and several through Mojacar and the cost is really reasonable. I think we paid 80c each to Garrucha. Great if you want to go out and have a couple of beers without worrying about driving. We are keen to use them now as much as possible so that they will continue the service, though I must say they seem pretty well used anyway.
A couple of nights last week we got the 7.20 bus to go out for a meal, once at the Plastic Cow (Do you know where I mean?) then another night to the sea front at Garrucha. It was great. We had plenty of time to enjoy our meal then got the 9.20 bus back.
What we haven't discovered yet is whether or not they do a sort of 'Day Rover' ticket which might be quite good.
Have a great time and 'Happy bussing!'
Pauline & Noel
