KeyMare cannot prevent you installing a satellite system providing that the dish is installed on YOUR wall/patio and all subsequent wiring runs within the confines of your property only!

They can prevent you from installing a dish on the roof of your block if the owners of the apartments above you do not give you written permission to run the cables down their walls onto your property. You must have ALL their permissions. If KeyMare "own" any unsold properties which are above you...you will not get permission.

Easiest solution.....ask your installer to come on a Sunday (KeyMare don't work then!) Be aware that if any of the cables are visible on a KeyMare apartment wall..you may find it gets cut!!

Should you install on your own "casa" then you cannot be ordered to take it down by KeyMare, but the residents committee may request its removal, but this is a highly contentious area. Just remember,  KeyMare are not your "neighbours" but the committee are!

Best of Luck!

Pedro

Hello Pedro,

Thanks very much for the info, I only wish it was that simple !!

For anyone interested in getting Sky TV there is an issue going on at the moment.  I suggest that you contact Fincadelia who will give you more information before going ahead and installing anything.

Thanks

Helen

Hi all, I am not sure if people have contacted the administrator for an explaination re satellite dishes, but here is my take on it.

6  of the residents in our block agreed to a company installing one dish on our block as was agreed by the community at the meeting, and most of the work had been done, when an individual from KM approached the contractor and told him to leave the site.

It seems that although decisions were taken at the community meeting that KM are now suggesting that we have one dish for the whole complex. Why wasnt this brought up at the meeting, and discussed and voted on? What right do KM have to over rule the decisions taken by our community? If they can do this about satellite dishes what other decisions can they over rule, or just deceide on? What is the point in us as residents setting up a committee, taking decisions, paying for the running of the community when KM who are owners like us can over rule any decisions we make?

I would love to hear others opinions on this situation.

Tricia

Hi Tricia

Completely agree! What are KM gaining from being so petty about the installation. It would take months, possibly years to get enough people together to make a communal dish financially viable. A single dish discretely positioned will be far better than people attaching their own separate dishes all over the place, which is what will happen, if this is refused. Some have been installed on the roofs already, but you have to look hard to notice them. Other developments have them everywhere and they look terrible!

I would have thought they would have had more important things to worry about if they want to sell properties i.e the pools.

Anne

Surely KeyMare  would have to have approached the committee in order that they propose the installation of a communal dish? If they did not do this at the last community meeting, then I strongly suggest you ask to see where it was mentioned as it should be documented in the minutes of the meeting.

It is your right to listen to current news in your mother tongue (European Law), so therefore you are endeavouring to do so by installing your Sky dish!

Don't let KeyMare bully you into submission.........get your dish installed on a Sunday....that'll scupper them!!

Regards,

Pedro.
