I agree with the general consensus of the thread, and I would certainly like to know for certain where the second 'association' got our email addresses from. I too have given my contact details to Sergio and I am grateful to him for contacting the Alhama council on our behalf, yet I am unsure about the second group.

However....despite my email address obviously being given out to a third party, I am at least grateful that somebody ( still not sure who) has at least taken the time to contact us , and get off their backside any actually do something about challenging something that we should clearly not be paying for.

We are fortunate to know where to find the forum, and we therefore benefit from the knowledge of others. I have to say though that firstly not every owner will know where EOS is, and secondly those who do will not log on as much as the 'die - hards'  and as such, may not have even be aware of a deadline to apply to the council on the 20th March ( what did we have - 3 or 4 days notice via EOS?). I am grateful therefore that at least 'they' have tried to do something about it, although I agree they could have gone about it in a slightly different way most notably making themselves more visible. They may even have got additional signatures that Sergio has not , therefore only boosting our case on this issue !

The big question for me is why have RPM not either contacted us , or petitioned on our behalf to get the external assets transferred c/o the council rather than simply do nothing- are they not supposed to be representing us? Presumably they could have applied in January on our behalf ( or certainly Feb 20th when they were unveiled at the meeting) and thus potentially saved us a bit more of our hardearned. If nobody ( sergio or the other group) had done anything we would all be paying approx €20-30 per month for charges we should not be paying!

On that issue , nobody seems to know whether the application / appeal was successful so it might all have been a waste of time yet, but at least we / they did something.

If the other group want to compalain about facilities that is their right, and you do not need to support them if you disagree with their strategy. I for one do not know what Sergios strategy is going forward - (does anybody ?) , but I was certainly more than happy to support him on this issue.

Sorry about the rant, but I feel it is important that we pull together at this stage rather than get into them and us. despite differing strategies I am sure the ultimate objective is the same - A first class resort with good facilities, all for a fair community fee??

I have just found this letter on another forum , think this maybe what the other group have lodged, must say I find some of the comments rather confusing , particularly as a lot of the points raised seem to be ongoing projects by PW.
Also the letter still does not disclose any names!!!!

I understand this is the English version of a letter that has been sent to Polaris earlier this month by the Condado de Alhama Association, a group formed after the 20 Feb General Meeting. I will copy this letter to the other relevant thread viewtopic.php?f=4&t=908

Dear Sir:


We would like to convey our gratitude for their presence at the Annual General Meeting Alhama County, held last February 20, which will be able to channel development.

As you found the Board had become very tense, given the precarious situation in which the services of more than 2,000 dwellings have been delivered and the gardens and Los Naranjos, according to figures from the Manager of the Resort "The County of Alhama.

The owners, under the slogan that has become popular that you buy more than one dwelling, ie services that differentiate from the rest of the Polaris Resort, we found that so far have not met expectations his motto was intended, but what is more worrying, a breach of the terms offered in the many publications and promotional brochures for the sale of housing Resort Condado de Alhama ", as we will explain below, the approximately 130 owners we have gathered to give a list of priority needs in order to proceed to resolve them, as we requested in the above reunion.

We feel extremely serious non construction of shopping centers in the forum, the Agora and Oasis contained in the various promotional brochures and buying cause serious deficiencies in services for homeowners who are currently residing in County Alhama.

Without abandoning the ways necessary to build these shopping centers, we understand that the mall The Forum must meet certain minimum conditions and essential, given the precarious and provisional understandings of the supermarket and bar currently constructed in the space of the gym and constituting an element of bad image, which is derived not only clear penalties for the owners but also for the very Polaris World.
Therefore, we consider a priority that the Forum should be equipped with the following services:

• Supermarket food.
• Restaurants.
• Bars, cafes, ice cream parlors.
• ATMs.
• Spa.
• Nursery.
• Dry cleaning and laundry.
• Pharmacy.
• Center for medical attention.
• Books and newspapers.
• Clothing Stores
• Other ...

You must understand that our demands are not only the result for the services that you offer and advertised in its day and that were critical to making the decision to purchase, but also because County Alhama is isolated from nearby cities or towns that could eventually fill the gaps in services that currently suffer from the nearly 2,000 current owners of the Resort.

Another priority that we consider of vital importance is the Club House, which must provide services commensurate with the level of the designer's name for the field of golf: Jack Niclause. Therefore, the Club should provide the following services:

• Sala Vip.
• Cafeteria.
• Restaurants.
• Gym.
• Bus to play at other golf courses of Polaris and stopping at Mazarrón.
• Jacuzzi.
Indoor swimming pool (important for living in winter).
• And other services required by the golf course.


The golf course, for everybody's sake, should urgently begin construction of the final 18 holes and imminent launch of the first 9 holes and driving range, which may provide an incentive for prospective buyers of homes or to rent the same .

On the latter we call your attention that almost all the owners acquired the house by our love of golf and others, as mere investors, but betting on the 3 "great" golf courses that claim to perform many customers.

Finally, we would like to make a reflection on the current services we offer and that Polaris World are reduced at this time exclusively to the custody of keys and clearing houses. Where are the rest of the services we offer and offer for the purchase of housing, "such as: houses full of life, his home care, better care for your garment, a luxury, service, babysitter, a world undiscovered natural and a long etcetera. we do not want to expose too long not to our letter. It would be beneficial to either party that the dissatisfaction was installed at the owners and the public beyond the grave consequences it would bring to market future phases of Condado de Alhama.
Ultimately, Mr. Hernández, please carefully consider our requests and will provide a prioritized action plan and execution, to resolve existing problems, without resorting to unwanted situations by any of the current owners.

I have since had a response from both associations and am happy in myself that they both have our best interests in mind, I'm a little miffed at how the 2nd association came to get so many peoples e-mail addresses but thats for another day,

To save any confusion I am going to deal with one Association only and Sergio gets the nod as I know people who have met him and share his ideas.

I'm the same as you Dan - been in regular contact with both parties. I am sure both groups are working for the same result and I hope that in the near future they are amalgamated and reinforced by many more of the residents/owners as we get to see more of the true picture as it develops. I admit, I would also like to see publicly just who is representing each group. It is pretty obvious to me that the prolonged silence from RPM can only mean 1 of 2 things:-

1)They are too embarrassed that as 'so called proffessionals' they have done absolutely bot all about this situation to let us all know what is going on.

2)They are just plain incompetent and don't care anyway because they are far from independent and in the pocket of Polaris ?

RPM - please let me know otherwise !! I am quite willing to eat my words.

Have just received following from our friend Sergio

Dear Owners:

  Unfortunately I could not attach the document submited to Alhama Council last Friday (20-03-2009). The document was supported by 143 owners that provided the correct requested details. To protect the privacy this information is kept confidential. Here ia a sumary in English.

  The document is an appeal for the modification of the “Statutes for the Partial Development Plan of the Sector US 14-02-01 Alhama County” from which POLARIS statutes are legally based.

  Based on several laws we suggest that several services, including illumination and maintenance of streets, should be charged to the Alhama Council. This appeal is also based on the evident delay of projects like Mirador, Golf Suits, Villas, Commercial Centres, La Isla, which have resulted, to date, in a very low population to sustain the services in such extensive area.

  We also suggest a modification of the index applied to the commercial sector for the calculation of community fees (0.5), which in our case is 1.0. It is supposed that they enjoy the same services and run lucrative activities. In this point we also ask about the golf course status.

  Finally, we let the Alhama Council to know that most owners do not know these statutes and we had not enough time to examine the document properly.  

  Myself and my colleages here at Condado, are gathering information to relay on to our friends and I make it clear we are not associated with the ** EDITED - Forum Rules - Please do not post individuals email addresses ** . It seems that someone is passing e-mail addresses to that group.

I'm not opposed to two 'associations' representing us but because I havent had any direct contact only the generic emails from the gmail.com address it made me uncertain about what was going on. In that respect I felt that gmail adress association were moving in the direction of raising that 'breach of the Trade Description Act' issue and I'm just not sure thats for now. I may be persuaded otherwise if anyone can add relevant information and I'd now be interested to see any response from PW..  All this said, we have had no contact whatsoever from Sergio and it only as a result of the clear support he has on the forum we are being swayed in his direction.

We, too, have wondered why RPM has not raised the issue of the need to have representation sent to the Mayor regarding the costs of the outer road etc. It almost doesnt make any sense- did they  not know they needed to do this or did they intend not to advise us?
