Hi all,
We have used doyouspain.com for booking our hire cars in the past and normally they seem to supply us through Auriga Crown. However, this time they've used Centauro. Has anyone used them in the past and are they any good ? Is there anything we need to look out for in using them ? Thanks for any input !

We have also used Auriga Crown on previous occasions but when trying to book for Easter, their website has indicated that they do not have any cars available (in any category) - not even the most expensive group (although we wouldn't have gone for that anyway!). Even tried to see if they had anything available from other airports and every single airport throughout Spain, for every car group, for every date had nothing available!
I know Easter is a busy time but didn't think it would be so busy, so I e-mailed them to ask if there was an error on their website. The response I received says "SORRY WE ARE IN STOP SALES PERIOD, NO CARS AVAILABLE". I e-mailed them back to ask what they mean by "stop sales period" and they just responded saying "sorry no cars available at all".
I am hoping that they are just very very busy, and not that they are going out of business, as we have always found them to be excellent.
Not heard of Centauro before, but that's probably a good thing as it means there hasn't been any negative comments! We have had to book with another company as well - all we could get was with Goldcar and I am sure they have had some negative comments in the past but we didn't fancy walking from Alicante!!

Centauro are the very next window along to Auriga Crown at San Javier. Sometimes Centauro have had a massive queue whilst Auriga Crown has not, and sometimes its the other way round !
We have used Centauro once, and the tank was not full as supposed to be. Did complain, and didn't then have to bring it back full as a result, but this has since happened to us at Auriga. So they're as much of a muchness as far as we're concerned.

We have used Centura loads of times with no problems. We like them as when you have used them 3 times booked through their own web site you are then a "Gold" card member and don;' have to queue, you go to the window on the left and there has never been more than 1 person infront of me, whilst the usual queue might be longer.
When you are stood their wiaitng to get your car whichever car hire company you use, you always seem to wish you'd paid that extra tenner to the other company without a queue!
Soon forgotten when you get to Condado!

Hi Debbie, i hope auriga crown aren't going out of business, we pick up our car from them on Friday in Murcia. Will also question the 300 euro's refundable deposit as well, if there's been a rule change they should have informed us.

We used Auriga Crown when we went out 9th March for a week. we have used them before and have never had to pay the 300 euros refundable deposit before but we did this time.
I got our credit card statement yesterday and guess what the 300 euros has not been refunded. I have emailed DoyouSpain, and predictably no reply. I shall be telephoning Auriga Crown tomorrow

i booked on the aurigacrown website for last weekend , pickup friday at 11.30 am from alicante airport and drop off on sunday at 20.00hrs at murcia airport , no payment or deposit of any kind, you get your price when you book and confirmation is thru e-mail.
You pay by credit card when you arrive just bring the e-mail confirmation , I have never had any probs , maybe I am lucky. I will say that I checked for reviews of the car hire companies before I used them first.

Hi all
We are coming out in June for 5 days. We have booked our car with DoYouSpain. Our car is from Auriga Crown so it will be interesting to see if they charge us 300 euros deposit or even if they still exist!!
Chris and Tracey you must tell us what happens when you pick your car up.
Dave and Carol really hope you get your 300 euros back - please let us know.

We have used doyouspain 3 times now and the hire has always been through Auriga Crown at San Javier. The last time in early March, they had just introduced the €300 deposit clause (there was a sign on the desk) to cover windscreen, wheel damage etc. One couple got caught out as they didnt have sufficient limit on the credit card to pay the €300.
You do have the option instead of paying a non refundable €3 per day
We have also booked for late May and having checked the doyouspain voucher, it does say the hire is through Auriga Crown again

We used Doyouspain and they put us to Auriga Crown, when I arrived at desk the guy asked if I needed the extra insuranse to cover windscreen,tyres etc and I told him no as I have an annual car hire insurance policy and he got very stroppy, he told me I would have to pay a 300 euros deposit and if there was any damage to the car I would't get it back, I was worried when he said that but luckily the money has been returned today after putting the car back on Tuesday morning, the only thing is I have lost about 12 quid on the exchange rate.

When you handed back your car to Auriga Crown did you just the keys in at the window or did you need to do something regarding the refund?

I have just had an email from DoYouSapin.com to say that Auriga Crown have today confirmed that they will be giving us our 300 euros refundable deposit back but it can take 4 weeks or longer for the refund to be processed - its outrageous!... Especially as we returned the car on the 15th March, 3 weeks ago. So it could take 2 months for us to get our refund.
Had I not rung DoYouSpain several time we may never have got it back - not that we have yet!..
Needless to say we wont be using them when we are back out at the end of this month!...
Other please beware!....

Well they are all trying it on at the moment with the extra insurances for wheel/windcreen undercarriage etc.
I bet in the summer they will get a lot of tourists just falling for this scam...
Had a long arguement with Goldcar 2 weeks ago, whilst I used them for the last 5 years at least 7-8 times a year.
just got a very rude reply.. if you don't like it don't take the car!!.
Saying that I rent cars a lot for my work in various countries and have been stung by the big boys such as Avis, europcar, herz... they have your credit card details and think they can get away with murder is some cases. Best thing to do is apply for as many credit cards as you can and cancel the card used as soon as you bring the car back or a bit earlier... the only way to stop them..
Problem with having an annual hire car insurance, is that the car rental companies charge your credit card without any explanation. Getting information is drawing blood out of stone...
