Tennis Facilities

I'm sure that Calidona have suggested that they are building some tennis courts somewhere on the resort which may ( or may not)  be completed for the summer.

Does anybody have any info?

On the basis that Calidona don't get courts up and running, can anybody give me any details on public courts near Roda? I'm sure I've seen some close by but would be interested if anybody has any details.

I am not in Roda at the moment but was told by my son who was using my apartment that there is some work going on at the hotel site area and when he enquired he was told that it was the work on the tennis courts which will be open in July.

Failing this my sons have played in the local tennis club in Los Alcazares which is reached by driving towards the market square but taking a right off the main road just past the Mar Menor Bodega, turn left, then right again and tennis club is on your left. it has several clay courts, grass court, squash court and fees are very cheap.

The tennis facilities that Don mentioned are very good but you may need to book as it does get busy.

Another alternative , that never seems to be busy, is the three courts next  to the new local authority pool /spa which is on the road between Varazu and the beach ( from roda - turn left to Los alcazares - go straight on for 2 roundabouts and it's on your left in about 600 metres). It's 4 euros per hour per court - I hope Roda tennis courts will be  this cheap !  

We have also been shown a Tennis Club as Mar Cristal which is a about a 25 minute drive away towards La Manga.  There are many courts (can't remember what surface) and there is a Clubhouse and cafe/bar and it is right next to the beach.  Think the prices are quite reasonable as well.

Building has begun on tennis courts and looks to be moving fast it is predicted that they will be complete by July this year.

just back and the progress is good with the courts.

not sure how many but looks to be at least 2.

the roads and parking are complete for them too.

i would think they will be ready by end of june anyway.
