has anyone noticed any problem with the enamel on their bath tub ? Ours seems to be 'pitting' in the area where the shower water to mostly fall. Not sure what to do and hate the idea of them having to rip it out and put an new one in. If I compain will Polaris replace it ?

Hi Jeb

We had similar proplems. We went to customer services and they fixed it without taking the bath out. It did pong for a day or two but it is as good as new.

Jeb,we have just returned from the completion of a penthouse in block 15.

Just by the lift, surprisingly below a notice that clearly ststes "No builders rubbish to be left here" was a new bath covered in plastic, mabe it had the same fault as yours.Later in the week i saw one of the fruitpickers asking "Where can i fill this up".

I think its worth you looking at this bath to see if there is a problem then at least Polaris are aware of it.

Wishing you happy soapy suds

Jill

Hi,

Polaris will replace it if you tell them that you want it to be replaced.

If they repair it just make sure that you are completly satisfied as it is just enamel touch up paint.

The problem with steel baths is that if they chip or thepaint cracks or crazes water will rust the steel.

My advice is get them to replace the bath (I work in the industry) as it is in the bathing area. Water will not make the enamel pitt unless you have got some hairline cracks in which the water as penetrated.

Hope this helps contact meif you have any more Plumbing queeries.

Simon

Hi Jill,

I have been told that you have 12 months in which time you can find as many snags as you can and they will fix them?

Don't know how true this is but so far every time I have mentioned something to them they have corrected it.

P.S any tiny little blemish of paint that is off your bath get it touched up at least.

Simon, Jill,

I found things after my initial snagging once the water & electricity was connected. Allowed me to see things where it was dark before and test the plumbing with water in the pipes. Ended up with a leaking shower head and dripping bath tap that the chrome was also damaged on to add to list. No problem with getting them fixed, just getting them to come round while I was there to point the faults out. Got it sorted on the second visit to customer services and they renewed the bath tap & shower head no problem. The key point was that I was there and told the plumber that is was not acceptable to just fix the dripping tap - I wanted it replacing due to the fact they had scraped all the chrome off the nuts when fitting it.

regards,

Hi,

We have also had to report some things since completing. Some damp just inside the front door(caused by the cleaners using power washers outside our front door), a hole in the copper pipe in the air con pre installation, and the boiler's dial only reaching the halfway mark. To be fair to PW they have fixed these things within a week of reporting them.

Hi Jill,

Sorry to hear that you have had such a problem with PW - one of the things we have been really impressed with is the speed that any complaint we have made has been handled.

We paid for snagging last July when we completed and there were loads of things missing from the snagging list and I have been into Christina in the after sales office on every visit  and each time (including Easter just gone) my complaint has been rectified before I leave.  What I would say is that if PW had been a bit more careful with their building standards then we might not have so many problems.

Keep putting pressure on them by e-mail and by telephone and hopefully they will get you sorted out.

Michelle
