BTW how do you ususally get to the resort from Belgium? Have you also been finding it increasingly difficult to get cheap flights from Belgium to Alicante?

I just noticed recently that Iberia can be very cheap from Brussels to Madrid, but the connection to Alicante is much more expensive. But it's only about a 4-5 hour drive from Madrid down to Condado de Alhama so it's an option worth considering.

Just to let you know Iberia have some great deals just now from Brussels to Madrid on certain flights. We booked last night for Chrismas and New Year (23/12 to 3/2) and for 4 of us it was only 337 Euros return all-in, which works out at only 84 Euros per person. Flying to Alicante from Charleroi with Ryanair at the same time was more than double that. We've got the added advantage of living near Brussels airport so we'll save on airport car parking costs as well.

So we decided to book a week in in the November school holiday as well and we got them for the same price.

Unfortunately the connecting flights from Madrid to Alicante are much more expensive so driving to and from Madrid to Condado is a bit incovenient, it takes about 4-5 hours, but at these prices it's worth it I'd say.
