External Ring Road

I know there has been a lot of talk about the external ring road and the costs already, but wanted to float a suggestion - I am sure some will not like it, and am ready for lots of flack, but we pay over €700,000 for this external area.

Can we consider whether we really need it all?  Why not close off the right turn at the first roundabout, and everything after the ISLA roundabout, just have the one entrance, and later 2.  I accept that this would be less convenient for Jardines 1-5 - and maybe they take a bit more of the saving, but it would cover about 70% of the external roads, and we would still have full access.  We could sto all gardening and road maintainance.  We could also close off all of the external car park areas for further savings.

I realise that it would make the Polaris Sales office impossible to reach - which is a real shame, but then they are not paying the costs of the roads!!

hmmm... I guess that would have been a good suggestion before the road and gardens were put in. But now that they're there, they've got to be maintained properly. Especially the garden side of things. Half of the appartments from Jardines 1 to 13 overlook this road and their gardens. So allowing the plants and grasses to grow wild doesn't appeal to me.

Sorry... not in favour of that idea.... But, keep proposing how to save money.

I’ve said it before and I will keep saying it if we are paying for this road and its car parking areas then we should get revenue from it, like charging for parking if PW achieve any golfing events, particularly if, as is there plan attract any big events.

Couldnt we have the lighting reduced on the ring road/Jardines after a certain time of night. Not turned off totally because there is a security issue with lighting. Wouldnt it be possible for the lights to be set so that only every third one on the ringroad is on from 11pm or something similar. There a a huge number of lights spread across all these access roads..

When we were there all the Jardines are very prettily light up all through the night only going off around 6.30/7am which is important for security but even alternating every light after 11pm would still provide a reasonable amount of light and make savings.

Sorry Ted, on this occasion I cannot agree, this road is visible from the motorway and should be maintained at all costs, how are we supposed to attract new buyers if the outer perimeter looks a mess. Do agree with Jann, no need for all that lighting, maybe we could get them to turn off at least 70% of them, especially in the summer months.
