Outside water

 Calling anyone who has a ground floor apartment. Does anyone know whether there is a stop cock to isolate the outside tap--we have been faced with a huge water  bill and we have not been there since last October!!  153 cubic metres of water is a lot to use when one is 2000 miles away!!

Any ideas gratefully received ---jhw

We are on Thalassa,ground floor and our stop cock is under the water heater in the kitchen ,but there is another one with your water meter in the outside box ,these are not for your access as far as I know.

The apartment on the second floor had huge water bills and apparently it was a leak in the supply pipe which went under our floors and they had to dig them up and repair it.

Speak to Keymare,also you might have a toilet ball-valve that is passing water ,they can be isolated individually under each cistern

I'm on Pueblo Salinas in a First floor apartment my stop tap is above the kitchen ceiling there is a square tile in the ceiling if you lift that out of the way you will see some pipes 1 has a stop tap  on it. It may have a screw driver slot to turn 90 Degree to shut off the water or a spindle to screw down like a normal tap. How this helps

We always turn our water off ,to prevent use of our out-side tap and because of the potential for the cistern ball-valve to suddenly mal-function,when they do the water over-flows into the pan.

As an idea get your keyholder to turn off the water at the stop tap where the water enters your apartment

get the meter checked after a week and then 2 weeks to see if there is a leak between the meter and your

stop tap in the apartment ,

As ken understands from his complex there could be a leak there

my understanding is from looking after a number of apartments that may be the problem , i would think that the amount of water you are being charged for is a lot more than the cleaners , or the gardners could use with out having your water running many many hours

i have seen the cleaners on some complexes trying the outside taps to get clean water but i would be amazed if the odd bucket would amount to 153m3
