hallo,
we already filled in all necc forms 2 times (once nov 2008 and once march 2009) Until now, did not receive a thing and every time we ask customer service, "they are going to pass the question". When we mention the free green fees, nobody seems to have heard aboun them. I am sure there are already people who received the free cards and the free green fees.
Can someone who received those give me a PM, so we have a proof that others already received this.
Thanks
Linda

Linda, I completed in June last year, never reeived the free green fees, welcome pack or discount card. I asked polaris and they basically said there is nothing they can do!
Just had to pay 140 Euros for the new discount card!

Geoff, I have had my moneys worth from the card already. You get a 10% discount at all polaris bars, but more importantly you get "buy one get one free" on all meals at all polaris restaurants!
I have dined twice at Hiroko at MMGR and each time saved over 25 Euros on my bill, I have also dined a couple of times at the Italian at LTGR, again saving over 20 Euros each time.
On top of the discounts you get a free night at either of the intercontinental hotels including breakfast for two. I stayed at The La Torre intercontinental last month and it was lovely. You also get a few other freebies, such as a free massage (worth about 50 Euros) a free golf lesson (worth about 35 Euro) and some other intercontinetal hotel discounts.
Looking forward to a restaurant opening at Condado then I can use my discount their, although it seems like the foro is going to open with just the Clover Bar and supermarket, so may have to wait a while longer.

Are the original cards that cost nothing still valid, i.e. the card that many of us applied for when picking up the welcome pack towards the end of last year ?
Thanks

Darren,
Is it definite that we are only getting a supermarket and Clover bar at the Foro, as not so long ago it was said that we were getting two restaraunts as well? I for one am hoping that we will get the restaraunts as to be honest I'm a bit sick and tired of having to go to Camposol or Mazzaron every time I want a decent meal out.

Cherrie,
Its also the fact I cant drink, I would love a few beers during the day on my terrace and maybe some wine in the evening with my meal, but knowing I have to drive every night means I am having my first beer of the day at 11pm when I get back to my apartment. I am sure I dont have a drink problem, but the soberest holidays of my life have all been at Condado! ..lol

I agree 100%. I brought my elderly in laws out in May and I can tell you that was one of the soberest hols I have ever had!! Even the surgery was too far for them to walk to. (We are in block 2 penthouses) At least when Nigel and I are both out together we can share the driving.
We have friends who have a house on Lanzarote, and they are a short car ride away from bars etc. When we holidayed there a few years ago, I remarked to my husband that the only thing that was a problem was the distance between their house and the shops, bars, etc.!! Here we are a few years later in the same boat.
Not wishing to start a negative rant here, but when we signed up we thought our town centre would be opposite the golf club. I can understand why PW have combined the original town centres, (which now is a good 15-20min walk for us ) but I'll be pretty p..... off if they don't have a restaraunt. I suppose that the golf club (WHEN it is built) will be nearer to us and may serve meals, but they're not starting to build it until next year.
I feel better now that's off my chest.

Getting back to the PW Discount Card - I'm dissapointed and a little annoyed they've changed the card
It's likely I'll only be getting out to CdA twice a year or so and therefore shelling out E140 per year to be a member is unlikely to be cost effective. Assuming I'm out there for three weeks of the year I would anticipate eating out with my family every other night or so and will probably try quite a few places at Mazaron, etc so in all I would have eaten at PW restaurants 3or 4 times a year and under the old shceme would have got 10% off each time - Happy with that!
The issue now is that I have a choice - do I pay out E140ish to get 50% off on the odd occasion I eat there or do I not bother with the card. The problem with not bothreing with the card is I am then aware that I am paying full wack for a meal that I know is overpriced to allow PW to offer discounts to PW card holders!
If any thing the new PW card is a dissincentive for occasional visiting owners albeit great news for residents and frequent visitors
Of course I am assuming prices will not be cheap inexpensive! I hope the pricing is sensible and does not dissincentivise non-resident owners who occasionally visit or renters.........
we shall wait and see - like you Darren I would far prefer to have a lazy day with a few drinks to then meander down to the foro for a meal with a couple of beers without having to 'count units' before driving back

I agree the card is a little unfair, would have been better to price the restaurants lower. I will spend less than 20 days at condado this year and I find myself traveling to La Torre every night I am out there simply to get my moneys worth. I suppose this was what they wanted people to do? I have dined far more at Polaris Restaurants since I got the card, infact its more expensive for me to eat at Camposol than MMGR or LTGR!
You mentioned you had a family, so I would not recommend this card, No matter how many of you dine you only get 1 free meal, great if there are only 2 of you (effectivily 50% off) but if there are 4 of you (only 25% off) you still only get 1 free meal. They say "The card Holder Dines For Free"

Just had a look on the clubhotel website http://www.clubhotel.com/ to get a better idea of discounts / costs etc and your right with only a 25% discount when 4 people dine so it's even less appealing.
The annoying thing is I didn't apply for the old card because I thought i'd leave that until my summer hols - now its seems thay aren't available.
So I'm back to hoping that the card is simply a way to attract more customers into the restaurants rather than keep prices artificially high for non card holders.
But it wont get me down - I still love the place and can't wait to get back out there and see all the improvements since i last visited for myself rather than get mildly excited every time somebody posts a few pictures on one of the forums!
