I was told recently that transporting a gas bottle in a car is illegal in Murcia and police are stopping cars at round-a-bouts to check car boots for gas bottles. Can anyone confirm this to be true or enlighten me on laws about using gas there as this throws a spanner in works for a gas barbeque. I dunno if a gas bottle is safe enough to be left on the roof terrace in the heat etc., any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Geoff.

Hi Geoff,
Why not just buy a normal barbie, its much more fun and the food tastes far superior to a gas one, this then solves all your problems with transporting, licences and leaving your gas bottle on your roof terrace.
Just a suggestion

IF THE RULES ARE LIKE THE UK AND BASRA, YOU NEED A DISPLAY STICKER AND SOMEWHERE TO FASTEN THE GAS BOTTLE TO,
PS. I AGREE WITH ALI, HOWEVER THE MURCIAN BREEZE IS A LITTLE TRICKY TO DEAL WITH.
If it helps it is generally windy here and it is very difficult to keep a gas barbie alight if you are an upper apartment you will be better of with charcoal the wind will blow the ashes a bit but wont blow it out also the more portable the better so you can find the least windiest spot.
Is there a link anywhere to the illegallity of carrying gas bottles?
