Hi

As we are coming out without the Brady Bunch next weekend we would like to check out a few things without the usual moaning from the kids!  What is Alhama de Murcia like? Is it worth a visit? Does it have a shopping centre etc?  Hows parking there?

Also Cartagena.  Same questions as Alhama really.

Are there any other nearby towns worth a visit or is there only Mazarron?

The Macro question again - is it worth the trek there to get TV etc? and is it the same as the one here?

Thanks

Tan

Aguilas is well worth a visit, massive beach and plenty of shops, also Lorca has a new shopping centre is a nice place to go.

TanRog, Cartagena is beautiful. Nice marina, easy underground parking, restaurants, (Burger King for the kids !!), small windy streets, Roman Ampitheatre, open top bus tour - large shopping centre on the outskirts - not a bad day out.

I'd be confident that Cartagena has more to do for a day out. But I found 2 handy pizza restaurants in Alhama De Murcia, (which is closer than Puerto De Mazarron) with a burger bar in between them if you need to feed the posy. And there's a really nice Spanish restaurant 20 yards up from them on the same side, called El Chaleco. They're dead easy to find too, you simply drive into Alhama De Murcia from Condado De Alhama and when you come to the roundabout with the water fountain, you go straight over and 300 yards up the street on the right, are the pizza restaurants etc. one is situated on the corner of a side street on the right, opposite the street cafe and El Chaleco is a little further up on the right, there are a couple of shops along that street, (not many) and if you go to the top of that street and turn left, you'll pass the fresh food market and if you keep going up past the 'police station and underground pay parking' and take the next left and on your left left there is a big free car park. There is a kids play park opposite the police station and what looked like an open air theatre also and at the bottom of the car park is where the Spanish meet to play 'Boules' in the evenings. I also saw a handy supermarket if you turn left at the water fountain and it's not far down that road on the left hand side and beside that there is a big chinese restaurant. I hope this helps. Geoff.
