We all know how you all like to articulate the prose and cons of your own and others teams, so this is a thread for you to do just that. Hopefully this will help prevent the need to hijack other threads. I am not having a go, but as hard as it is to believe not everyone is interested in football.

Good idea, I think the problem started when people participated in a thread about a topic then ended the post with a comment about football and then that quickly escalates into tribal warfare[verbal not actual]. All my comments/retorts will now be confined to this thread when discussing the beautiful game. You have shocked me though! do you really think some people are not interested in football!

Great idea Phil.
I'm a big football myself but I agree that the constant hijacking of threads with football banter can be a bit of distraction at times, so a dedicated thread is a great idea.
I follow my local team, Greenock Morton of the Scottish 1st division (which is actually the 2nd division), a.k.a. the 'The Magnificent and Majestic Cappielow Cavaliers'. Actually we're neither magnifient nor majestic, but supporting your team is like loving your children, it's unconditional nomatter how bad they are. I've become convinced over the years that I must have been a serial murderer or something terrible in an earlier life, and supporting Morton and Scotland in this life is my punishment. :)
I don't really have a particular dislike of any other team, except of course Rangers and Celtic for other reasons nothing to do with football, and perhaps our nearest rivals St Mirren.
So look out for us next season. :)

So far I've been happy just using this site to keep up to date with what's going on but now we're talking football I feel obliged to get involved. Redhot was reference to my support of Liverpool and the quality of football they played in the 2nd half of the season and hopefully next season if we keep Alonso. If the new bar has the footy on I'll probably be in there, if it's Liverpool there won't be a probably.

Good idea for a thread.I found myself looking at a heading for furniture then reading about Everton etc.!
I have supported the mighty Spurs all my life,and regularly go across to worship at White Hart Lane. Normally a very early flight,Stansted express,tube and bus.Y muchas cerveza.
It would be great if matches were on in the new bar,a great way to meet like people. I think hate is a very strong word,but let's say I am not terribly fond of Arsenal.

ok ok ok ok - so my banter with that little devil Dakey hijacked a thread so this is a great idea and I also will keep the football chat to this one. However, since this thread is about football it probably means Dakey can't participate !!!! I'll miss him.
As for Arsenal and Arsene, better I say nothing as I'd hate to get booted off EOS !

It's Leeds for me, but as no one cares about them anymore I'm a fully paid up member of the ABU Society.I
I love watching Spanish football as I enjoy the superior technical ability of the players compared to Premiership and was fortunate enough to in the Bernabeu the night Barcelona beat Madrid 6-2. It was the most complete attacking performance i've ever seen.
Of the other English sides I enjoy watching Arsenal (Sorry Guys) just wish they would shoot from outside the 6 yard box every now and again.

I have to agree about Spanish football especially when Man Utd get beat by a far superior Spanish side

great idea pgm,
but don't you think you are being slightly racist (for the want of a better word) to newcastle fans, talking about kicking a man when he is down, with the words, football= no chance, supporters=no way, scum= they may get a response?
PS. i must say that the best side in the world won the premier league this year . liverpool with alonso are fantastic to watch, arsenal will be champions next year ? oh! and the scum will be relegated,  again

I think a Real Murcia fan club would be a great idea.Tryed to get a game in last year,but fixtures did'nt fall my way.As a life long Fulham fan,we are coming off the back of our best seson ever,can't wait for the euro tour!

Hate is a negative vibe and it's negative vibes which hold certain clubs back!!!
I'm a football fan first because without the game there wouldn't be the tribe mentality or the good fun banter that comes with it. However that said love beating the lot of ya whenever we shoot from inside the 6 yard box!!
The only thing now is the money that's so rude in the game and i'm seriously thinking of not renewing my season ticket of 18 years. Russian gangsters, biliionaire financiers and opec controlling shiesters are everywhere.
It's ruined and we all know it!!!

Hi all.
Would love to take in a few Real Murcia games.A meal and a few drinks before the game sounds like great day out.
I tend to agree about Jay's comment re money in football,I think the game is going away from the fans and towards the corporate bodies who invest the money.However something like the Ronaldo thing creates a lot of interest doesn't it?
It's certain that there will never be another Notts Forest,coming from relative obscurity to be European champions.So some of the romance has probably left the game.
Looking forward to boozy nights in the Condado bar watching footy and getting to know all the other fans.
