Dave,
When you watch it again try to watch it from a balanced perspective (first time for everything) - it helps. Better get the cup out of your trophy cabinet ready for someone else - it was feeling lonely in there anyway. Hopefully it'll be another 40'ish years before you have to find the key again.

Great game to watch as a neutral. Had the lot and some very good goals. Not sure scholes is the answer, looked well rusty to me andI'm hoping our blast from the past has a little more impact tomorrow night. Down with the DIRTY Leeds!! Have a good week lads Jay

Jay,
Was a good game for the neutrals.
Topped off by the fact if the red card stands Kompany misses Spurs visit...that with Toure gone could be a help.
And of course nice to see Utd draw Liverpool in the next round.
Actually hope old Henry puts in a performance...was always nice to watch (except in the derby!)

I don't think you will have too many problems with "Dirty" Leeds, we are absolutely awful at the moment, something is not right in the dressing room, might have something to do with our managers extra curricular activities with a member of staff at the club.
Not sure we deserve the "Dirty" tag these days either, we hardly put a tackle in at the moment, (watch us kick lumps out of you tonight now I've said that), I'm sure there will be a good atmosphere at the Emirates as whatever people think of us, we always bring a good crowd and are still a big club and a good draw, if only in name and not on the pitch. Will be nice to see Henry again even though he always seems to score against us, eleven in his last eleven if I'm not mistaken, almost a hand picked opponent.
On yesterdays game, Ref wasn't even going to give a free kick against Kompany, there was a long delay and he turned to follow the play and only blew his whistle after shrek chased after him screaming for a red card, if he was so convinced it was red card he would have blown the whistle straight away, watch the replays. As neutrals it spoilt what was set up to be a great game of football and the early Rooney goal had only made it more interesting. Football has gone soft.

Hi Simon Sorry mate only showing me age with the "dirty" tag. Them days are long gone. Leeds are a big club and sorely missed in the premiership. You managed to build up a rivalry with all the bigger clubs across the country and that says a lot about the stature of the club. Not wanting to pity you but to have Ridsdale and Bates at the club over the last decade.......blimey you lot must have some bad karma!! Enjoy tonight but not too much!! All the best Jay

Watched again last night for about 2 hours!!!! Didn't help to cheer me up
Dakey, United had a definite stonewall free kick on the edge of the box when Kolarov brought Valencia down. No previous mention of young Jones putting the ball in his pocket and taking the lace out, with 5 mins to go????!!!!. ha ha
Watched at normal speed the Kompany challenge was an excellent tackle, well anticipated by Nani who waltzes off with the ball. He screams in annoyance to bew brought back for a foul only to see his team mates disgusting behaviour. Simon read it perfectly from then on.
I laughed a bit watching the half time punditry when I found out it was Keane and Reid trying to work out how it could possibly have been a foul.
KEV!!!!!! Shame on your comments last week about the end of football as we know it when young Mancini asked the ref why no yellow was shown for a pen. You obviously didn't see the 5 hounds baying for blood around poor Mr Foy then
Big game Wednesday now. What is our game coming to????

Dave,
You must be worried, out of CL and FA Cup at the first hurdle, beaten in community shield, draw at West Brom, then spanked by Sunderland and Utd. Not much of a return for a billion quid is it mate.
Oh and by the way Citys first goal was a Richards foul on Evra not the other way round and to compound the error Evra gets booked!

Dave,
Your wasting your breath with Dakey Lad whilst he is still wearing his red coloured blinkers/blindfold!!
I say blindfold for he has omitted to mention the recent pasting off Newcastle and Blackburn they took, now if memory serves me right Blackburn were rock bottom when they embarrassed Man ure and still are!!
Whilst we on the other hand are Rock Top!!

It had to happen...didn't see the game but from what I heard it was a typical Henry goal. Into the box and curled into the far corner.
And the difference the commentators said...with a lot of players you gave them a good chance but with Henry you just expected exacxtly what happened.
Unfortunately that might be the only fairytale for Arsenal this year!!

Hello Shane mate I was there it was literally like turning the clock back. A really special footballing moment. I agree that there might not be too many more moments like that for us this season but I will be living off that for a very very long time. Football drives us all mad from time to time but every now and then something happens that can really make you smile and it puts all the pain and frustration far from view. Thierry Henry and artist and a legend. Jay

I guess the script was written, I did say yesterday it was almost like we were a perfect opponent for his comeback game and so it transpired that number 12 scored his 12th goal in 12 games against Leeds with 12 minutes to go in his first game of 2012. How many times have we seen him score like that over the years? He has always been one of my favourite players to watch, I saw him for Barca against Madrid when they destroyed then 6-2 in the Bernabeu a couple of years ago, Messi got all the plaudits but Henry was amazing that night and his elegance of movement was joy to watch, and I hope his return is a success
I also said we were a poor team who are certainly not Dirty any more (in fact i think we're soft) and we proved that, we may have defended ok but if you compare that to last seasons two cup ties and the games against Spurs n Man U the year before, where we actually had a go you can see we are not even as good as we were then, so we are going backwards not forwards.
Anyway well done on the win, good luck in the next round and we can now concentrate on our mid table mediocrity in the Championship for the rest of the season. MOT
Simon

I completely agree. Leeds defended bravely and put up a good fight but without much going forward. You were certainly better equipped last year and were more of a threat to us then. I hope things improve for you and your very noisy fans who were excellent.
Good luck

...hmmm. So after reviewing all the video evidence, etc the FA still believe Kompany challenge was worthy of a red card. Decision must have been correct eh? C'mon blue moaners accept it gracefully and get on with it!
Don't often say this but.... C'mon Liverpool tomorrow!
HA HA as some would say!

mmm Rooney deliberately kicks out at an opponent from behind (cowardly) and FA back him for reduction in punishment!!
Kompany tackles opponent face on (nani chickens out) and he gets his hat nailed on!!
What's that footballers name now?? His 1st name is Marcus I think!!
Thats what the FA are!!

Not on for a couple of days and wow the thread has gone mad
Jay had a tear in my eye as well when the goal went in and the memories came flooding back.
Right we need a unbiased opinion on the manchester debate.
If thats a red card most teams will end up with 9 men each week and thats after the FA cowarded out.
Valencia free yes without a doubt no argument.
Jones handball yes did it hit his arm yes... was the arm moving at the time in the direction of the ball ...yes it was attached to his body that was moving look up the handball rule it is simple.
Dave fraid you made a rod for your own back with the trophy cabinate remarks and they must now be downsizing or even putting it on hold abit like the CDA clubhouse looked good a while ago but probably not happening now. The europa is a losers competion and should not be counted you only qualify if you FAIL to make Champions League position in the Prem of FAIL to qualify from group stages so even if you did win it it would be in the new cabinate as a reminder of how you failed in the CL.
Dakey
congrates on FA cup win highly entertaining to watch and on the whole ignoring the contreversy deserved just, The performances are still scratchy and inconsistant and the defending at time is nearly as bad as ours(not quite) so I reckon that this together with Rooneys unhappiness could be your downfall.
I think Rooney and Ballaloonie at city need a night out together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the headlines would make intresting reading.
NOW PLEASE WILL SOMEONE STOP SPURS I HAVE HAD ENOUGH, KICK THEM. JAIL HARRY OR SOMETHING BUT THEY ARE NOW A THREAT TO ALL AND THIS HAS TO END.
Back to blighty for 2 nites but returning for weekend footie at the Club
Neil
