Ant&Andi,

Actually you may have something there with Peter Andre, Because the more I study the likes of Pamela Anderson the more convinced I am that I married a man! [ Good job my other half does not use the forum]

Dave and any other city fan out there, I need your input to a perplexing question, in a week when you have won in Barca and you play your first home league game of the season, with a side packed with high priced world renowned stars and when wolves sold out their allocation weeks ago, why was there only 47,287 fans in a rented ground that holds just short of  50,000? Then it struck me, practically every City fan in the world was at the match, you have not got any more fans and once the novelty wears off you will be back down to the 30 odd thousand diehards.

By the way United took their full allocation to Wigan and a lot of the home allocation as well. I was not there I watched in my local on foreign TV. it was packed out like hundreds of other pubs around the manchester area that put on these foreign channels  every united  game  for the fans that cannot get near a ticket.  That means you can watch united live on tv every game and we still get 76,000 in the ground every other week.

In conclusion, your new owners must be thinking, what have we bought into? all this investment and we still have empty seats, they must be gutted. It will be interesting to hear your rose tinted explanation.

Cheers Dakey

My team won their first league game yesterday so I am currently over the moon, as opposed sick as a parrot which was my mood immediately following defeats in the first two games of the season and our midweek defeat in the Alba Cup, a.k.a 'the wee diddy cup'. Suddenly life's not so bad after all.

Yes, I am indeed  that shallow. :)

Good bit of waffle to the untrained eye. As you well know, City's current capacity is 47,310 due to segregation restrictions. Most tickets have already been sold season ticket wise. How on earth did the league manage to feed United, Birmingham (struggled) Burnley (struggled badly) and Wigan (booed off first half after struggling again) as the first 3 games. Soon be Lancashire derby!! Manchester v Trafford looking forward to it again this year. Would love to see you for a pint round the ground but will only be me there again I'm guessing. Wolves put a good second half in yesterday we should have been 4 or 5 up in first half. Full points no goals conceded we've had it worse.

Kennellys in Camposol will show all of the games mentioned below but hopefully satelite will be fixed for Clover. Great result for Rangers with 10 men at Hearts. Must be plenty of Fellow Jocks on here. Lets hear yer comments. Rangers treble again??

Dave,

talking of waffle, one thing I have learned being around City fans is because you cannot fill your ground then I think you all trot out the same line, i.e. however many fans turn up each week you change the capacity to suit the number, so one week when a big team is in town with a lot of fans then the capacity is 49500, the week after against, say fulham, the capacity changes to 42000. A good trick but one that everyone can see through. To juggle the capacity is one conjurers trick that you have mastered. The other is paying vastly inflated amounts for journeymen players. 26 million for tevez and 24million for lescott, no wonder you are the laughing stock of football and that will never change Dave.

cheers, your mate Dakey

Top 6 predictions..

1..Chelscum.(Too many matchwinners)

2..ManUre..(Haven't bought well, and Giggs Scholes etc 1 year older)

3..The one,the only....the mighty Tottenham..(Naughton,Bentley,O'hara,Hutton,Crouch and Pav on the bench...Jenas,Bale,Woody and Daws still to come back, along with whoever 'Arry brings in.. Most strength in depth in the league??) ..Also no Europa league  as a distraction..

4....Dirty Goons..(I nearly hate to say it,but I respect Wenger's stance on not gambling with his club's future just to bring in overpriced players.)

5...Hub cap stealers...(2 man team and Benitez hasn't the dosh to change that, poor bench when injuries occur, and stretched by Euro football)

6..Citeh,cos they have dough.(Somebody elses)

John..

PS,I take that back about Wenger.

Jaydee, somethin that bugs me from previous thread but shouldn/t really. City to finish 6th cos of dough(somebody elses)????? Where exactly is the dough from Chelsea, Lliverpool, Man U & Spurs from???? We wouldn't be lookin outside of North London would we. Russia, America, Israel, Iceland, Ireland etc what is somebody elses.

Dakey glad you skirted the issues again. Someone should buy a big book of attendance figures for you. Full allocation of tickets at Wigan???? what were the empty first 5 rows about. Couldn,t even get 20,000 for Lancs derby. Burnley and Bolton will take more.

Only team in Premiership after 2 games not to concede. Scousers result last night?? Sunderland still lookin good.

Dave

Dave, mate

I have got a book of attendance figures, it shows that for well over a quarter of a century Utd have been the best supported team in England by a country mile, even before we started to win things. It also shows that last season City were 8,000 below capacity for the full season average. You can argue about some things but support is not one of them.

I bet, like me you had a little chuckle at Liverpools expense last night, did you see the fat Spanish waiters interview? he has not been as upset since someone nicked his tips bowl years ago before he became a football manager. I cannot wait for City against Liverpool, It will be sold as a clash of title contenders, that will be the same as two bald men fighting over a comb.

Cheers Dakey

Citydave.

The point I was making was that the sudden influx of money into the City coffers didn't happen naturally,or through good business.

Chelsea at one time were the same but lately ran more like a football club.Man U and the scousers big gates and Euro income..

My own team run as a very successful business by Daniel Levy..Turnover of I think £108m last year, and apparently the lowest wages to income ratio in the diivision.

All I'm saying is that for City to suddenly spend £100m or whatever it is on players, when previously that wasn't the case:then the money comes from an outside sphere and isn't generated by the football side.Surely that's a fair comment.

It tends to distort the playing field for others,we were in for Santa-Cruz,but according to 'Arry,"we was blown out of the water".

Fair enough but that was for financial and not footballing reasons..

Isn't it great to look forward to continuing this over many pints in the Clover???

John.

PS I hope Citydave isn't a real big lad.

Seein as were just makin things up now like shoolboys, we'll say uniteds attendance figures were 25,000 down on average cos they couldn't get 100,000 in???? Where's our mythical 50,000 attendance from, concerts maybe???

Think a few of those West Ham lads have been watchin Green Street. Why can't we simply have good banter be upbeat or gutted at the end of the game and watch a sporting event.

I was in South Africa for Lions test and those Afrikana lads live and party hard. Awesome atmosphere and all of the trouble on the pitch!!!! Those cockney lads will be takin the p*** out of each other at work today and havin a laugh. Why can't they do it at the match.

Dakey, you are not keen on scousers. One thing that Liverpool Everton and City have in common is our mutual dislike of Utd. Possibly Everton may be a little peeved about us at the moment.

too right we're peeved - Lescott and Jags were magnificant for us last year. It now depends on what Moyes does with dosh. We have to get over Lescott going (plucked from obscurity at Wolves and now destined for obscurity at City), and move on. Looks like we've got that unpronouncable Russian bloke, plus Banega and now we need a centre half (Distin or Taylor ???). We'll be fine once Yak, Arteta and Jags are up and running (fingers and everything else crossed) !
