Jane,
Harry's defence in court last week was pretty flimsy but your lads managed to be even worse last night.
Perhaps you should get rid of Arsene and bring in Big Sam. You see the problem is who do you replace him with? Ah - wait a minute, Mancini and AVB will both be free in the summer.

Jane.
Who is the replacement that is thje problem. He has built an empire and we are on the best financial footing of all the clubs. ( that is the clubs that only use the money they earn and donot exist of false economy from hand outs )
All the city fans are shouting how great they are but remember I have like your hubby been in for life its a horrible thought to think that a north london boy will spend his life supporting his local team. ( how can you tell a utd fan in a bar in mancester..... He's the one with the london accent)
Dakey states no trophies for seven years would we rather be liverpool who aqlthough have a few more pots in that time have failed to qualify for CL year in year out and have never won the prem. Or Chelski or Man C who without big bailout s year after year would be bust withinn a month.
Can we be the only Club in the country that is still in the FA Cup (that is up till today) and lying fourth in the league and people are talking about sacking the manager. bearing in mind that two of the clubs above us are some of the riches in the world and Chelski and liverpol are below us. Madness
We have a big problem at the back that is evident and have stagnated this seasons but please give the man time to sort it out. If we sacked him then you watch the mojor clubs home and abroad clamber for his services. It is not without reason that he his thought of so highly world wide.

George,
You are right about one thing, it is boring not being involved in the FA cup, but it was a tall order for us what with City away, followed by Liverpool away. It just doesnt come any more difficult than that and we were just a whisker away from doing it. never mind.
Because I am bored, I am going to throw something in the hat to start a debate, I know we are all passionate about our clubs but the way I see it this weekend is a watershed for both Chelsea and Arsenal, as the so called 'Big Four' has changed, it is now Utd, City, Spurs and perhaps Liverpool. Chelsea and Arsenal are in real danger, if it has not already happened, of being classed in the group below the top teams and unless something drastic happens at both clubs, sooner rather than later, they will find it very difficult to get back up there. Am I correct or is there an alternate view.

Dakey dakey dakey!!!!
So as someone who says they know about football you think one or to good seasons make you one of the big clubs. How long were Everton a big club when they qualified or Spurs for their one season before. and now Spurs are having one more good season and its not even over and you now are changing the big clubs... your best joke yet! You have spent so much time in the past taking about records and history and when its suits you change completley the other way. So when you 'throw something in' try and remember were you have stood in the past because now you look silly. Its like saying as City are ahead of Utd in the league at the moment THEY ARE THE BIGGER CLUB!!!!!! see how stupid that sounds are do you agree.
Yes George as much as it hurts of course Chelski will be on.
Neil

Agree somewhat with Dakey.
The Big 4 has gone. City obviously has crashed the party and Spurs will compete for CL spots now and in the immediate future.
I look at Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal and they don't have the same aura for lack of a better word.
Arsenal have been thrashed more than once this season, Chelsea aren't the same force, and Liverpool are struggling to win games.
In the future I see City at the top, Utd chasing, and the other 4 fighting it out for the last 2 CL spots...probably along with 1 other team which would change each year. Very much depends on Mr A's cheque book at Chelsea and whether any more money men enter the game.
I've read rumours about AEG buying into Spurs...not quite the money like others but could help them maintain their position.
Then again QPR have the possibilitiy of a lot of money, don't they?? That would throw a cat amongst it!!

Fellas,
There thats livened it up a bit, Neil was indignant at my questioning the status of the Gunners, even though I was a fan for a short period this week, then his team went out and proved once again why they cannot be considered a big club any longer. Their season is over before the end of February and that is a step backwards even conpared to the dismal showing of recent seasons. They keep going on about qualifying from the group stages in the CL but then they always get beat when they come up against better opposition. How can that be classed as success from any viewpoint.
George, One season out of the CL knockout stages due to complacency in the group is hardly a crisis, we dont mind winning the Europa League this year as its the only one we have never won ( probably because we never finish low enough to qualify for it) besides it will allow us to play Barca or Real Madrid next year in the European Super Cup. A draw at home to Birmingham also proves my point that even with the owners money, your club has imploded and can no longer be classed as a big club. Both Arsenal and Chelsea are on a downward spiral and it is going to take something really special to reverse that trend, worrying times indeed for you both.
Cheers, Dakey

dakey- great result for me. had money on the draw as it makes a bit of money for birmingham and gives us a good away day out. and with arsenal losing its only the yids to worry about. not quite sure why youre watching the fa cup. didnt know youre team were in it.thought it was one one competition too many. oh sorry - youre only in 1 comp. and for cfc fans we are happy when we win the occasional comp. we arent interested in football as glory hunters mate. thats what makes it interesting! we stick together through thick and thin.

George,
We dont mind standing aside now and again and let someone else have a crack at winning it, as just like the league title, we have won it more times than anyone else, 12 times I think it was at the last count, so good luck on your nice little trip to the midlands and your European venture next week. I know I said last week that I couldnt support Chelsea in Europe due to how the club is financed and run but seeing as how you are our last team standing I may bite the bullit and change my mind. Go on call me a sentimental old fool if you like.

Fellas,
Just sat here a bit bored, mainly due to there being no premier league football to talk about so I thought I would analyse the run in for the title for us and City (not ignoring Spurs, as they could sneak in and nick it) From our perspective the next two games are crucial, we have tough away games at Norwich and Spurs while City have Blackburn and Bolton at home. They have got to be thinking they are going to stretch their lead, but they didnt over the last four games where the fixtures were broadly similar. After that and leading up to the showdown at the Etihad on April 28th, we have a run of eight games with five of them at home and no one in the top half of the table except Everton. City have eight games, 5 away including Arsenal and also Chelsea among the 3 at home, hopefully those two clubs will have recovered their big club persona for those meetings! All in all a fascinating end to the season, It could go to the last game and that would favour City with QPR at home while we have Sunderland away, so we will just have to wrap it up before or at the Etihad just to be sure.
Cheers, Dakey

We are definitely in a slump right now to put it midly and it will now be 7 years without a trophy. My heart say's keep the man who has been so successful for us in the past. Our operating budgets have not been comparible to UTD's disgusting leavereged business model nor chelski and now citeh's disgusting sugar daddy approach. In that time the Arsenal have relocated spending over 400 million on a stadium as well as probably close on that on regeneration programs and relocation programs for local businesses to facilitate the move. Nobody knows exactly what the Arsenal's financial situation is and where the money has gone from the sale of players and the 3 million pound a home game profit we make. We have repeatedly qualified for the CL and challenged for the title and but for a for key injuries at key times to key players may have prevailed.
Alas It has been bridesmaids for us of late but when you look at in real terms and on money spent on both transfers and just as importantly wages our books balance. The problem has been our brand new trophy room remains bare. The positive is; we are totally self sufficient and not reliant on scum bags like the Glazier's, a russian gangster's blood money or the whim's of some Arab's!!!!
We might not get much joy out of that just now but we can look at ourselves honestly in the mirror and know that we are in control of our own destiny. The business model of UTD could all go pete tong if interest rates or other financial influences take a turn for the worse or a slump in form and their payments might not be so easy to make. If simple boredom or frustration sets in chelski or citeh what then??? We're currently one season away from the so called Financial fair play regulations coming in so maybe we ought to have a little more faith in Arsene especially now that Stevie Bould is coming in as assistant in the summer.
After this last week my head says time for change, not neccesarily the change all the media and 85% of the fans seem to be demanding but a change in the boardroom. Apparently the "old guard" are to step down as well in the summer and I for one can't wait. For a club to be successful it has to be right down the spine of the club from the chairman to the tea lady/kit man etc. If that's not right then you'll win F A and it's really very clear to me that it's not right at Arsenal now.
Lastly a note on the big four debate. Who gives a shit if there's a big four or a big six or big eight. Only people with fragile ego's would even be talking about it. A league should be competitive and and most teams should be able to have a realistic chance of winning trophies in the premiership. NO ONE TEAM HAS A DIVINE RIGHT TO WIN ANYTHING. (not even UTD Dakey!!!!) I've watched Arsenal since the mid 70's and during that time we were awful, competitive but awful and I had to wait until I was 19 in 89 to witness us win the championship. In all that time UTD were a not bad cup side at best. Spurs could win the odd cup and Forest, Villa, Ipswich and Everton all weighed in from time to time. That was a better time even with Liverpool's dominance. It was a time before "the big four" yes there were the bigger and more powerful clubs UTD and Arsenal included but it meant nothing. Spurs are now having a wonderful season playing good football and are on the verge of doing something really special......they might come 3rd and earn a lot of money in CL they might beat Stevenage at home and eventually get to Wembley for the FA cup first time since 1991 so if that means there in the big 4 then great.... bully fot them and all that!! But who really cares if Spurs who haven't won the league 51 years are now "big four" or citeh who have not won the league for not far short of that; now because they have limitless funds are deemed "big four".......really it's all a load bo**ox.
Roll on Sunday the Scum are coming down the grove and we've never been less ready for them so fix bayonet's and let's have it!! ( and if we get beat which on current form we should then at least I've got tickets for Joyce Simms at the Jazz Cafe in Camden for sunday evening)
Have a good week
Jay
