Well done City. On the day the best team won. We had our chances and didn't take them - the difference was Yaya Toure. You've won nothing yet though ! As for the balance shifting - it'll take more than one win, come back in 20 years time when City have won the Premier League 10 - 15 times and the Champions League 3 or 4 times and then maybe...

Dave,
As the 29 coaches trudge back to Old Trafford along with the 18 coaches returning to Eastlands ( sky sports news} we have to remain dignified in defeat as we have always done, as painful as it may be. So i have to concur with Kev and say that the best team won on the day and deserved to go through. I hope you can see it through now but it would be just like City to lose to Bolton or Stoke, that is me being churlish I know but I think you know what I mean. Will our banner come down in May? you will never have a better chance.
on the Utd front, how did Berbatov miss those early chances? my old granny would have stuck one of those in. Our best players in recent games have been Rooney and Giggs, one was an enforced absence although unjust, but how can Fergie decide to rest the other and not even bring him on? rare mistake for the chosen one there I think.
After losing to Chelsea and Liverpool we won 7 games on the spin so I can see us going unbeaten now to the end after this latest setback.
To finish, Congratulations Dave enjoy your day out back at Wembley, try and take a few more fans with you next time though, there are 29 coaches in Manchester doing nothing on the day for you to use.
Cheers, Dakey

dakey we have everything to play for.getting into the champions league is worth a fortune especially as you need to be in it to attract the best palyers in the world. . the season is far from over. remember you still have to play arsenal and chelsea in between 2 tough games with shalke. and the rate your players and managers are getting banned you may have trouble getting a side out!

Dave,
Dont let George worry you, your last gate in the FA cup replay at Eastlands was 27,000, so I am sure Wembley can accomodate every living City fan on the planet, with plenty to spare.
Cheers, Dakey

Jay, Georgeh, Dakey and lads what a wonderful wonderful day. Extremely proud of both players and fans dig in now for top 4 and lets mebbee win it and have to build a trophy cabinet
Dakey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a laaarrrfff you gave me with your fan/coach drivel. Don't want to dig it in too much but obviously living in Middleton you will have been reading the evening new each day and coverage of what was happening
Facts for the lads who hadn't read it, MUFC supporters clubs hired 29 Abbotts coaches to ferry 11500 fans to wembley true (Dakey must have glossed over the rest of the information.)
MCFC supporters club 18 coaches from eastlands via Finglands.
As you know one of our major sponsors is Thomas Cook who take over the vast majority of our euro / big game logistics.
7 special trains from piccadilly none from united????? and a further 10 coaches from Aytoun street. National buses wrote under the heading city9-1united that we took 9 times more fans than your drab colourless lot
The most surprising thing on the day was that on the way down and around the stadium we saw hardly any of your lot about. Granted we set off and arrived very early, but even after the match you exited so quickly that you must have been back in the houses of London for tea by about 9 (chuckle chuckle)
Game wise, Berbatov should have scored chance 2. That's probably why baconface doesn't play him in many big games. Scholes again an utter discrace. United fans talk of him in the same breath of some truly gret ex players. A lot of premiership fans regularly see him get away without even bookings for similar tackles. We played some good fotball from 20mins onwards
I thought Ballotelli had quite an influence on our performance. I hope that Ferdinand gets F.A.disciplined for man handling at the end. He took a lot of stick and it was wonderful watching him kiss the badge in front of some of your lot, just past the halfway line. Years gone by we've had to put up with Neville running the length of the touchline after Owen scored to goad us and even after Roonesys wonder shin goal this season, he didn't run to your fans to celebrate.
Hope Bolton make it today but got sneaky feeling for Stoke
Love you all xxxxx Dave

Back to consistency - Gary Neville got a £5,000 fine from the FA for kissing the badge in front of Liverpool fans. Balotelli should expect the same even if it would be peanuts for him. Must say - on TV looked more red then blue in the stadium. Good atmosphere though and best team did win although Dean should have been tougher early on with some of City's wilder challenges. Beware the mighty Stoke !

Believe me the stadium was not nearly half and half. Possibly with United getting there so often but the fans were just subdued. Most of my harsh comments are to try to get Dakey's raw nerve. Somethin we've done for over 30 years and he's a great mate. Talks alot of drivel however and easy to wind up.
My honest point with Ballotelli though, was that he should not get embroiled in controversy all the time and would have been better off running down our end. What he did though bares absolutely no resemblance to Adebayor or Nevilles stupidity. No more than 5 metres from the half way line after being congratulated by back room staff, he turned to the opposition fans who had been giving him stick all afternoon, lifted his shirt and kissed the badge. Big dopey Rio spat his dummy out and manhandled him. No retaliation from Mario and had Dean seen it, it was a straight red after the whistle
Even after Neville was sensored by the F.A. and fined for running the length of the pitch against Liverpool, he stll found it pleasing to run from his seat on the bench, 50 metres to our noisy corner to howl abuse after the 6th munute Owen winner.
Not for one minute can you possibly believe these are similar incidents.
I've tried texting my mate who is on his way back from Wembley after watching Bolton. That one had to hurt.
Dave

Dave,
I agree we have been batting it back and forth for many years now and I dont remember one argument where your stance is based on anything like the facts, although i do thoroughly enjoy our spats.
Plenty to chew over, so lets begin. I have to admire your dogged backing of your lamentable support, any one else having suffered a 27,000 home gate for a FA Cup quarter final replay and a below 30,000 gate for your exit from Europe, not to mention below capacity gates for all your recent home league games, despite being in the best position for over 30 years, would keep their heads below the parapet, but not my mate Dave, no, he enjoys trying to defend the indefensible and long may it continue.
On what I first thought was a bad weekend, on reflection has turned out brilliant. Alright, we went out of our third priority competition to our noisy neighbours but there is nothing like an Arsenal game these days to lift the spirits. Liverpools equaliser in the 12th minute of Fergie time probably handed us our first priority competition on a silver plate and it just goes to show the integrity of North West clubs as Liverpools performance gave no thought to us overtaking their league winning total and everything to courage and integrity. Well done to that team.
To finish, I will just respond to my Chelsea mate George regarding "no more talk of the treble" I completely forgot our thrashing of Chelsea at Wembley in the Community Shield, a trophy that is always talked about by our scouse friends when commenting about 5 trophies in two years under Gerard Houllier. So we can count it as well. The treble is still on George its the quadruple thats gone!
On further reflection, now I have got my second wind, It will be a lot more amusing for Stoke to beat City in the final than us do it in the Semis. So as I say what a great weekend, onwards to St James park.
Cheers, Dakey

I noticed that was arsenals 16th pen this season ag liverpool. had to laugh at arsenes rant . they showed a clip of managers rants this season afterwards and he dominated the ranting. what is wrong with him? btw chelsea have had only 3 pens this season even though dakey mysteriously think chelsea get millions. . interesting to know how many man u have had.
btw dakey pre season friendlies arent real trophies unless you are desperate . you aint won nothing yet mate and we are still the double winners.however i do expect you to just about manage to win the league. but to beat barca you will need a new team. you will be thumped imho. viva messi!

Guys - back to Jay's comment way back on the balance of power shifting. It has - South to North !
Four northern teams in FA Cup Semis.
North West team flying the flag in Europe (I'm sure you'll all back the reds to glory now)
Northern team won the League cup
Northern team on verge of winning the Premier League
C'mon Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea - get your acts together.
Perhaps that's why they built Wembley down south - so they can see a decent game ocassionally !

or kev to put it another way
3 of the top 5 teams in the pl are from london.
london provided 3 of the 4 cl places last season.
not one of the top 6 in the championship is from up north
4 of the last 7 winners of the pl have been from london(chelsea 3 arsenal 1)
4 of the last runners up have been from london ( chelsea 3 arsenal 1)
and barcelona is the best team in the world according to most pundits (and they are very southerly).
