our record ag bayern is pretty good, but as far as Im concerned this is just a superior version of the charity shield so not too bothered. nice to see the 2 best teams in europe ( as far as uefa are concerned) going head to head though.

George,
I dont mind saying this until I am blue in the face.... World Club Cup; winners of CL v winners of other world federations. Community Shield; winners of PL V winners of FA cup. So both games are deciders contested by winners. Euro Super Cup; winners of CL (fair enough) V winners of the LOSERS cup..... NO NO NO a thousand times NO!! Not a credible comp in anyones eyes, just a money making exercise concocted by Eufa to help pay for their constant jollying.
Also, I can just see Chaddy in February saying..."We were in the group of Death" "we were unlucky" "the refs are blind" etc etc as they tumble into the Europa league for a crack at that. Mind you, that would be an improvement on last years feeble effort.

What dakey and all arsenal fans forget is the fact the because chelsea won the europa league last year England are 2nd in the uefa rankings and so get 4 cl spots. If we hadnt won it arse would be in the europa league. So yes chaddy youre right, dakey doesnt know what he talks about. Thanks chaddy for your support, same as i support all british clubs in europe.

George,
I can see that would be relevant to the gunners and I would expect Jay to thank you profusely for your valued assistance in that matter. However, seeing as we usually win the PL and never ever finish below 2nd then I dont see how winning the Losers cup has any relevance to me or other Utd fans. Get your head round the fact that you won a LOSERS competition with hardly any teams of repute in it. I will applaud you when you win something that matters as I have done in the past, even though I dont agree with winning things by buying them with money not earned by the clubs efforts.

George,
As you often do you've let your enthusiasm for talking nonsense get in the way of facts again. Chelsea are 3rd in the rankings, not 2nd, behind Barcelona and Bayern. Whilst the rankings are a joke and you lot are so jammy they could make dodgers at least make an effort to get the facts right.

Kev,
What sort of a ranking system is it that places a team in 3rd who have finished 5th and 3rd in the last two domestic league campaigns and failed abysmally to get past the CL groups stages last year! who chaired the rankings committee? Basil Fawlty!

George,
I agree it was a valiant backs to the wall effort in the same manner as you won the CL the other year, but there is only so many times you can ride your luck, get absolutely mullered by these top teams and nick the result.
As CL holders, losing both the Euro super cup and World club cup. now as Europa league holders, losing the super cup yet again, I have to hold my hands up and admit you are truly olympic standard losers at this level.

No 1 in the losers rankings for sure. A great end. The ITV commentator had it right - "if you live by the sword you eventually die by the sword". After two of the jammiest seasons ever hopefully their luck has run out. They'll struggle to win anything with Mourinho's super defensive tactics. I'll be surprised if they send someone forward for the toss in their next game. Good to see Ramires hasn't lost his timing though.
Ps Where's your racist centre half when you need a fifth penalty taker?

Kev,
I was thinking that mate, but didnt want to pile on the agony for George. A real captains role played there mate wasnt it. In fact when Terry came on I thought it was two fold, to see it out till the end and if not possible, then to take a crucial first penalty to set an example to his team under pressure. Obviously being captain at Chelsea doesnt mean any of that it is just a means of being the highest paid player on the books.
Now that the dust has settled, I wonder how long the mad Russian will put up with packing defences, ultra boring football, playing systems with no centre forwards, etc etc. He wouldnt put up with it last time and I cant see him putting up with it this time either. Contrast that to the Moyesiah who played Three centre forwards and a winger against Chelseas ultra cautious approach last monday. I know what system I would rather watch going forward. Shows how much fear Jose has for Utd, plays a system with no forwards at O/T and then plays the current CL holders and plays a standard system with a target man! quite rightly he considers us a more potent threat than Bayern.

Last nights match stats are undeniable with Bayern outstripping Chelski by a country mile in every area. It is certainly not often you see a 75% / 25% split in possession but with 3 times the number of passes and shots the most progressive team obviously took the honours. Looks like Jose is taking his bus around the UK and Europe ready to park up in front of goals everywhere this year.

George,
I know we all have a certain bias towards our teams but we expect highly paid professionals to be a bit more objective.
I have just seen Joses rant on tv where he proclaims that the best team lost and they were the best team by far without dispute. I just thought,bloody hell I must have had the wrong game on so I checked the stats;
Bayern, 41 shots in total; Chelsea, 15 shots in total.
Bayern, 15 corners. Chelsea, 5 corners.
Bayern, 75% possession!!! Chelsea 25% possession.
He has been in charge now for a handfull of games and apart from bringing back boring defensive football to the bridge, he has completely and utterly lost the plot big style already! Oh for a sensible cool calm and calculated manager like the Moyesiah eh?

Kev,
Great minds think alike, we must have posted our last contributions at the same time on exactly the same topic with the same opinion. That is just telepathic mate, just like the interaction between Utds players.

At least Jose's Bus Tours aren't going to park up at OT again this season with the aim of boring the pants off everyone. The guys lost all sense of reason by the sound of it.
