Fellas,
After last weeks, then this weeks action it appears that two teams from the Manchester area, both with great tradition and history, will be locking horns in pursuit of the silverware.......I am really looking forward to the rivalry between Utd and Bolton blossoming as the season unfolds. (once our new young keeper settles down and finds his feet that is!)
cheers, Dakey

Shampers,
Must admit he looks a bit dodgy at the moment but so did Schmiecal early on ( could never spell his name correct) On the plus side, after his mistake and with our full first choice back four missing second half, he did well under pressure, so I am not going to judge him too early. To start with an away win after only five all last season will do for me at this stage.

City played well in the last 30 minutes but aren't you worried they were often outplayed by Swansea up until then? If Swansea had had any class upfront City may have been punished but they lost their way once they got into the final third. Nice to see City being investigated by the FFP panel at last though as requested by Liverpool and Arsenal (we rise above such things but obviously hope justice is done).

Fellas,
The easiest game you can get on the first weekend is at home against the team that scraped up from the championship playoffs, so to not break them down for over an hour tells the true story. It also tells me that Aguero after he came on fresh against tired legs once the deadlock had already been broken would be a good goalscorer at championship level. Lets have a look after Bolton and Spurs away which are the bitters next two games, then we can make an early assessment.

Never let the facts get in the way of a Flakey post ....... the 3rd place team carry more momentum at the start of the season, but generally fall away badly as the season goes on .............
2010 - Wigan 0-4 Blackpool
2009 - Burnley 1-0 Manure
Lets all talk about Ciddy .............................. not how Manure didn't dominate West Brom - a team packed with quality !

Bingo ! Reel 'em in !
Chaddy - never said he wasn't a class act (read my post). Needs to do it over a season not 30 minutes. He looked great over that 30 mins.
Shampers - we did dominate West Brom. Great stat at one point of us having 90% possession for a period - never seen that before (other than Barca)! Judge us over the season too...
CityDave - No problem with City trying to buy success. Chelsea did it. Just need you to abide by the rules (not Utd complaining but Arsenal and Liverpool!).
We do need the big clubs to clash now to really spice it up ! Arsenal / Liverpool will be a good start followed by Utd / Spurs.

Kev,
you are quite correct in your interpretation of the facts, We need to see Aguero do it regularly against the better teams to understand why both Real Madrid and Barca let him escape from under their noses, or could it be they did not rate him as highly as City do? If he does it over a season and City win one of the big trophies I will then rank him alonside the likes of Chico, except that Chico cost £6 million pounds and Aguero £38 million pounds.
Chaddy, why do you think that the big teams win a lot of games late on? its because the lesser lights and especially a team that has scraped in through the play offs, work their little cotton socks off for as long as they can to try and neutralise the better skills of the team that has cost the most in the World to assemble. So yes, they were tired and also demoralised when he came on as City had just scored. All I said was lets wait and see for further stiffer tests before we can accurately assess him. There is absolutely no need for anyone to get upset. If that is all it takes to get you lot at it, then wait while the gloves really come off.
Cheers, Dakey

No Chaddy,
Prestigious as the FA Cup may be and taking into account that you deservedly knocked us out in the Semis', beating the likes of Notts County and Stoke and was it Leicester City? after replays would hardly qualify it as a big trophy and would not count high in my list of achievements, even though we hold the record of FA Cup wins. The BIG trophies are the League title that you have won only twice in your entire history and the Champions League that you have never got anywhere near. So when you actually bring home the bacon with one of those is when and only when you will get praise from me albeit through gritted teeth.
Cheers, Dakey

Fellas,
Another interesting weekend of football coming up, hopefully it will give us all some interesting debating points. Before that, can somebody tell Samir Nasri to stop phoning Patrice Evra asking why Sir Alex does not want him. We will take him, once his contract runs down in less that 10 months. He surely cant expect anyone to be so stupid as to offer £25 million and £200,000 per week when he is about to become a free agent in a few months can he? I personally cant think of anyone that stupid fellas, can you?!!!
Seriously though, if he does move to City, it will be interesting how the supporters react to not only having players in the squad who are openly hostile to Manchester and its local people, but also having a player who would prefer to be at their rivals across the City! Whoops, sorry already got one of those in Tevez!
Yes, I know, mindless vitriol and bile to follow from Chaddyowl, City Dave and Shampers.
Cheers, Dakey

Hello boys and girls. Just thought I'd chip in like I did this morning on the 11th with my thoughts on tonight's vital qualifier as I lay round the pool in garden 7:-) it's 35 in the shade by the way!!! Now that little mercenary greedy French pr*ck has gone to Citeh for purely footballing reasons of course we can now move on and make the the necessary purchases required to begin our rebuilding. The problem is I think Wenger has left it too late and tonight the curtain could come crashing down on our ever present participation in the champs league proper. We are not equipped and udinese are no mugs. It will take a performance of real guts and desire to get through and I'm very concerned. Ah well Fu*k it the table is booked at the Si bar at la manga club for 8.30 so I have a full back position!!! But does Arsene? All the best Jay

No need to be bitter Jay, leave that to the bitters. You should be over the moon that someone was stupid enough to pay you £22 million for someone they could have got for nothing in 9 months time. Could it be that they realised that in nine months when he could choose who to go to, it would have been to Manchester but not to Eastlands. Look on the bright side mate you can loan him back again in six months with half his wages being paid by City.
Good Luck tonight, Jay, apart from the money grabbing traitors you have had some bad luck with injuries so you just need to scrape through tonight by any means, then your manager had better get jigging in the market instead of having all that money burning a hole in his pocket.
Cheers, Dakey
