To use a slightly modified recent quote from one of our esteemed forum members " All right, Jay ?????????? hows it going?"
Van Der Sar and Ferdinand over their problems, fit and playing again. The outstanding Rooney top premier league scorer, team now back on top of the pile, oh and by the way, a nice little 48.5 million pounds operating profit to boot! Crisis? what crisis.

City Dave [My old mate Dave Roy] and all you other misty eyed blues,
The recession is going to carry on a little while longer for all those Sat Nav companies who had hoped to post record profits selling Sat Navs to thousands of City fans trying to find their way to Wembley!

Jay05, my friend.
I posted a contribution some time ago when I pointed out that Arsenal were in contention due to Utd And Chelsea dropping their standards and not because the Gunners had improved. Now that Utd and Chelsea have regained their standards Arsenal have dropped back into the pack as I predicted would happen. I take no pleasure in reminding you of that, but until Arsen starts buying some quality to back up the obvious spine of good players that you have, then things will not improve and you will not win anything of note. Sorry if that hurts but that is reality! on the plus side of things, you are still a mile in front of City, Villa, Spurs and anyone else for that matter.
cheers Dakey

Hi All......particularly my friends Jay & Billy.......I hope they appreciated that master class from Rooney & Nani today. I really thought today would be a tough fixture, but Nani has really suprised us over the last 3 games. It seems he finally has come of age.
How many yards did Rooney make up for the 2nd goal. Lets hope he can keep that energy level up for the rest of the season & the world cup too!!

Nick,
looks like we posted at almost the same time, I was trying to be constructive while I think you was just euphoric and got carried away, but either way what a fantastic performance against a top quality team.
Cheers Dakey

Hi Dakes,
Yes maybe so. I have been really disapointed genearlly with Utd's form this season, but that performance & the 2nd half of Wednesday night suggests we are not far away now. It all looks a bit more encouraging now for the rest of the season. Today's performance reminded me of the Champions League semi at the Emirates last season. Some real pace on the break.

Hello fellas,
What can I say.....still too big a gap in quality for my liking. I honestly don't think Utd had to play that well today. I'm not saying they did not play well because they did and with two great break away goals and an audacious bit of skill from Nani + a great finish from Amunia It was over all too quick. What disapoints young Billy and I is that as in most of the games against Chelski and Utd it's the fight, effort and desire that is just not up to the same level. Winning the 2nd ball is as important as a beautiful one-two or a series of twelve passes with an exquisite finish!!!
Nani certainly looked a better player than I have seen before and gave Clichy a torrid time before his magic on the touchline. My real annoyance lays with Wenger and his persistance in playing Denilson. He does not cut it and was culpable for all three goals. His effort to stop Nani for the 1st goal was pathetic. He made no attempt to track Rooney's 80 yard dash for the second and his lack of touch and control gave the ball to Park in a dangerous position and the rest is history. He's not the only one that was lacking out there and it is obvious to us Gooners that the balanace is not right we need a proper hard working combative midfielder like (Flamini Fletcher Essien), a keeper and a fit RVP but alas its not to be. My final point is that football is like all things about confidence. Winning titles, champions leagues and FA Cups can only be achieved by teams that have earnt the right to do so. You earn that right by winning so called smaller cup competitions and gaining the "winning experience" Arsene's experiment whilst commendable for blooding and bringing young players through is so far a failed experiment because our young and very talented team does not have that all important "know how" maybe treating the domestic cup competitions with a little more importance will lead to a triumph that will in turn lead to our resurgance.
Yours a totally deflated
Gooner

Hi Jay,
Cleraly written from men who know there football......some great points here Jay. I had not realised Dennilson was such a soft touch, but as you identified he was clearly 'off the pace' in this match. Personally I think the OG was Nani's goal, if Almunia missed it, Park would have knocked it in.....but hey...no matter. I was worried when I saw the pairing of Evans & Brown - our weakest combination.......but the Arsenal lack anybody with any real presance at the moment at this time, so were untroubled.
I hope the Gooners can pick themselves up for the Chelski game - we both need them to drop points soon. Can't really see it, but you just never know in football.
keep your chin-up my friend & see you soon
Nick

'Evans & Brown - our weakest combination' .......................... you should be thanking your lucky stars you have someone as talented as young Jonny Evans in your team. He has a decade of greatness ahead of him with or without UTD - he'd be welcome at Goodison at any time.
What a strange decision by Venger to take Sol Campbell back and let Senderos go out on loan to a good club - I know which of them I'd pick any day !
The other team on Merseyside to play next week - can't wait

Hi Jeb,
I think you already know my views on Johnny Evans.......a definite star in the making - without doubt. All I am saying is that when he is paired with Wes & we are up against a decent attack they are not a strong combination. I am sure all Utd fans would agree that. Put either of them with either Vidic or Ferdinand & the jobs a good 'un, but together.......??. Yesterday they did very well together - but then the Gunners don't have a physically strong forward line do they....? However if that is our 'weak' pairing what does that make the Campbell / Silvestre pairing??? Any comment Jay?
Good luck at the w/e, I hope you beat YOUR "noisy neighbours" ....
Nick

Forget about the Utd victory over Gunners. The big result at the weekend was the mighty Rams rising like the pheonix from the ashes to slay Billy The Dwarf and Notts Florest!!!
...and to cap it off, watching Billy spit out his dummy, refuse to shake Cloughies hand, and then to make accusations that nigel assaulted him....well, priceless! He sure knows how to make himself look a prize t*t !!!!

Evans looks like a real prospect as does the other irish lad who's name escapes me but he belted one in against the hammers.
As for pumpkin head and campbell............ definitely NO COMMENT!!!!!
Fozzie that was great game to watch as a neutral, a proper old skool derby game..Magic!! Derby should be much further up the table on that sort of showing.

Hi Fozzie,
Yes good result for the Rams. Good news in our house too with the wife & all her family being Derbt fans. A good w/e for the Skelly's !! Just puzzles me why they can raise there game against Forest (which is understandable) but not in the more mundane fixtures. The jury must still be out on young Cloughie. I think if he had any other surname he would been gone by now...??. This result will kick them on I hope, which should lead to a better half & of course you are still in the Cup...

Not wrong. We cant understand how we can be so bad against so called lesser teams, and then turn it on against the better teams. As for NC, most of us harden fans accept that he has a major overhaul to get us back on course. You cant change your manager every year after poor result....believe me, we've tried that and you just end up using all the finances to pay off the staff and players they bought
I like what I see in NC, and project that in years to come he will build something great. Also has a massive affiliation to the area, and us Rams fans just love that! Certainly buys him more time than most
After Jewell, NC is a legend!!!
NC is even more popular now after he alledgedly stuck one on Billy Davies

Just when it looked like Chelsea were getting up a head of steam and you could not see them dropping any points, they struggle to beat Burnley and then draw against Hull. I have given up trying to predict results this season, I am just going to sit back, enjoy the ride and hope that we suffer fewer of these little hiccups than anyone else for the run in. It is just like Utd though, after the mauling of City and Arsenal to slip up at home to Portsmouth. It cant happen, can it?
Cheers Dakey
