not being funny dakey but that was a get out of jail scoreline, should have been 10-1
what is very worrying is that they arent even anywhere near as good as barca or real
the spanish league is by far the most advanced in the world
i really feel for my lot if we get one of them next
but my dream is to see us in the bernabeu so as long as we dont get barca i wont be disappointed

The really sad thing is it shows how bad your lot and the rest of England is at the moment. I agree - the best team in England at the moment were well outplayed by a really good side. I would add the obvious - I'm not overly concerned. The first priority this season is stopping anyone buying our championship.
Good point about Chelsea. They played well last night with a little help from the ref (was he Webb's German half brother?) but quite honestly they are going to be desperate for a good draw. They could easily get humiliated against a number of the teams left in. When Utd went out this season I wasn't too unhappy as it was clear we weren't good enough to win it this season either.
The premier league in the cabinet after a season of transition and ravaged by injuries will be a good result. Start building (not buying) again for the future.
What was your take on Drogba's cheating during the latter part of the game? What humoured me was him lying on the floor after (not) being hit in the face and peeping out of his eye to see what was going on. All the time with the word 'Respect' emblazoned on his sleeve! What a disgrace - he doesn't respect the officials by conning them and doesn't respect his fellow players by cheating them. The English game will be a better place when he finally slinks off.
Just heard City are keeping their good run of form - 2 - 0 down at half time. Keep it coming! Hope your boys maintain their form for next week at least.

Drogba was immense last night, yes he did the play acting bit to wind the napoli players up- after all the italains and the spanish are past masters at play acting- and they hated having it back- i thought it was hilarious!

Our form in Europe this year has been appalling from day one not just against Bilbao, in complete contrast to our league form which is close to being our best ever. After carrying the premier league with 3 finals in 4 years prior to this I think we can be forgiven for this seasons stinker. I was quiet after the Utd game because I was watching City go out to the Portuguese equivalent of Swansea. Now we just need to concentrate and close out the deal in the league for the FIFTH time in SIX years, something the rest of you can only dream about.

....remind me how many European Cups / Champions Leagues Chelski (or any team from Londaon) have won? That's right - fewer than the UK have won in Eurovision!
Just had that memory of JTs penalty come to mind again - never fails to make me smile every time Chelsea and the CL come up in the same sentence!
On to the bigger stuff now and what will no doubt be a tough game at Wolves. Could be 4 clear by Sunday afternoon. Mancini's admission that hiw players are tired (bless 'em) has only cheered me up more.

btw did you see the youth cup semi final first legt last night
chelsea trounced your lot 2-1 at the theatre of tears . but i must say nick barnbys son for for man u looked a class act.
he is already in england u18s.

I knew you would defend your skipper to the hilt, loyalty, although misguided on occasion, is a commendable attribute to have.
I wanted to watch the youth game last night, but the TV room was filled with burly Yorkshire scaffolders watching the Rugby League and seeing as they had allowed us to watch a full week of tremendous football we decided to let them have that one. I wont comment further on the Youth cup match as it is only half time, lets wait until the end at SB.

Well done man u- they beat a poor 10 man wolves 5-0 and should wrap up the league if chelsea can get somthing from a man city team in transtition..
But this is an eye on spain website, not a manchester eveing news.
As such Reall Madrid and Barcelona are the best 2 teams in the world by far imho with athletic bilbao a meagre 7th in la liga yet they out played man utd twice in 2 weeks and everyone here in spain is raving about them thrasing man u.
In a footnote well done Torres for 2 well earned couple of goals ( plus 2 assists) on course for an amazing Chelsea double (in my dreams!)
btw dakey-John terry was absent through injury! maybe ferddiand should have realised he aint good enough and not played the other night when he let a simple though ball pass over his head for the bilabo forward to stroke into the net! or is he just waiting to protect his brother in court so he gets the england captaincy back! ( and since when is calling someone black racist- half cast yes. snowflake yes. coloured yes),but white or black aint racist! and thats from my my black friends with white mothers!

I echo that mate, the medics did a fantastic job under pressure and that gives the lad a fighting chance. Heres hoping he pulls through. Its a sobering thought that if that can happen to a highly trained young athlete, what chance us middle aged tubs of lard?
George, we all know how good Barca and Real Madrid are but I liken Bilbaos' efforts against us the same as Blackburns win at xmas, we were complacent and under motivated and despite the rhetoric by Fergie before the tie we were just not interested in as you put it the "piss pot cup". We are trying manfully to stop City from buying our title and that is all that matters, we will resume our normal CL service next year duly chastened by this years experiences.
Finally, now we have relentlessly hunted down City and practically brought them to their knees, pray tell me when did they morph from being Englands Barcelona, breaking all premier league records, to a team in transition?

The key word there is 'again' The question is will we win one again before you actually win one? I know where the smart money will go mate. Do you really think the likes of Bilbao and Ajax would beat us if we were switched on to it? Have you learned nothing from the lessons we have given you over the last few years?

you must admit aside from winning the greatest thing about being a football fan is anticipation of the next cup draw
well at least as a cfc fan we are in 3
and your lot are only in any draw by default (because you screwed up the other games )- or in rooneys case should that mean grannies drawers!

Couldnt agree more mate, you stick to enjoying your cup draws and we will stick to winning, there everyone happy.
I have just watched the Chelsea v Leicester highlights as I missed it over the weekend and I must say that Chelsea look a different team than a few weeks back and I cant wait for weds as I fancy you strongly for at least a point at City. Next 4 fixtures for City, Chelsea and Sunderland at home and Arsenal and Stoke away, we have Fulham and QPR at home and Blackburn and Wigan away. Is there anyone out there who really seriously believes it will still be in the balance come 30th April at the Etihad?
By the way, the top 6 comp for Neils beer is hotting up going into the final furlong, I think I have the top four in the correct order at the moment although that can easily change. Not bad for "mr stupid" eh, Jay.
