Just like the WCC the community shield is not just a one off match, there is a qualification criteria, you are not just simply invited to the party like the Emirates cup etc. you have to win the league or the FA cup to get to compete for it and every other club or manager who wins it always refers to it on their CV, so why not us? I think after the torrid 9 years or so you have endured you would give your right arm for the gunners to play in it mate so dont kid yourself it means nothing. Ask RVP!

It's a friendly and I remember you saying that to citeh Dave when you weren't involved or when you lost it. So I think it's smacks of hipocrisy.

If mr Rooney doesnt put his spat out dummy back in his mouth and knuckle down then he will be spending world cup year in the stiffs. He will leave our club when the club says he can leave which is the way it should be. Also, if Fergie hadnt turned on him and left him outof the Real Madrid game then subbed him in most of the others, do you really think he would be looking to move to a poxy little bought and paid for Russian plaything..... no. I dont think so either!

No comparison mate, Wenger let RVP run down his contract and he had to sell with only a year left. RVP wanted to win things and if he thought that would have happened at Arsenal he would not have moved. Rooney, on the other hand has won everything but he crossed the great man in 2010 and I dont think he ever forgot that. His last action when he had decided to retire was to make Rooney pay for his previous indiscretion and he has quite deliberately turned the fans against him. Rooney never asked for a transfer and merely asked why he was out of favour and has never made one single direct quote against the club, but he has asked the club to openly support him by saying that he never asked for a move and no one at the club is going to come out and call Fergie a liar. Unfortunately that is the quandry Rooney is in and Moyes is left to deal with. One thing is certain though, he has no option but to get his head down and earn his place back in the side or he will just be left in the reserves and sold next year with a year left like RVP, but we will have a year to find a replacement. He will not be going to any club near the top of the premier league this year, that just will not happen and certainly not for the pittances that have been quoted.

I will have a little wager with you or anyone else that he will NOT be sold to another English club in this transfer window.
He will only be sold when it suits Utd and that is when we have chose his successor and signed him. you see we cannot be held to ransom by individual players as our business generates too much money and as such we will dictate terms not players.
In conclusion, he has not yet once come out and stated he wants to leave, he wants the club to back him over Sir Alex and that is clearly not going to happen. I am a big Rooney fan and have said several times that he was treated abysmally by Fergie towards the end, but the more I look at it the more it is obvious that Fergie wanted to go out on that note to repay him for his first transfer request that held the club to ransom in 2010. What I will finish on is that better players then him have left our club and it has not made a jot of difference in the big picture, I am looking forward to laughing heartily at everyone who is making us 3rd or 4th favourites for the title. Some people just never ever learn!

Man u are shite scared of selling rooney to chelsea as they dont want the same situation that arsenal had when they sold rpv and realised they are no longer a big force or liverpool when they sold torres in much the same way. Utd are running scared and rightly so, and for me its just hilarious cos i dont care of he comes or not. but just to see utd squirming is brilliant,

Thats like saying a pit bull terrier is scared of a poodle. Why would we sell to any rival when we dont have to? Would you sell your best players to us? I dont think so. You only got Torres from Liverpool because you offered £50 million for a busted flush. Liverpool realised that and snatched your hands off and Torres's performances generally since confirm he is shite, that is why Jose is trying to replace him.
One thing I will say though is everyone is getting excited thinking they have a chance now fergie has wrapped, but if we are top after our opening 5 games, by far the most difficult start anyone has ever been given, you might as well all just pack up and go home.

£50 million = 8 league goals last season and 15 in three seasons ..impressive George.....well spent. Even if you look at a total of 35 goals over three seasons It still works out at nearly £1.5 million a goal. Torres is an epic financial fail probably the biggest ever in world football. Now that is a record suited to chelski!! Lol Jay

there is a small chance of him going abroad this transfer window if we got a daft offer like Chelseas for Torres (a big chunk of whose goals last year were in the losers cup) and we manage to find a replacement, but that would be more likely in the Xmas window. We might even sell him to Chelsea in the Xmas window as if they carry on their recent league form they will no longer be a title rival!
I have heard on the grapevine that Moyes has told him that if he wants a transfer then he has to put it in writing.......thats the end of that saga then!!

Did you not beat Munich on pens to win the CL? Had you already won the game against Barca if the score remained the same in the Semi when he scored late on off the bench? I am not sure as I follow football not Chelsea, but I seem to recall those events happening.

beating barca meant the final was a formality. and the goal was important as it meant we didnt lose in the nou camp, they still had time to score twice and go through. and as for them emotion-priceless. winning back to back euro trophies -priceless. at least you have the community shield. thats your lot for this year!unless you want a wager?.

Despite your Waffle George, I knew I had my facts correct. You can piffle at the community shield but it is a Winners trophy unlike your losers cup. I will not disrespect the other clubs in the hunt as far as a wager goes but I will have one with you concerning who finishes higher between our clubs. (I have a wager on something already this season, can someone save me the job of trawling back through the posts and tell me what it is and with whom?)
