Has anybody used Arguscarhire.com. We normally use sol-mar car hire, these are considerably cheaper but want the money up front and havimng never heard of them I'm not sure whether to risk it.

Sorry, probably didn't explain properly. We normally use Solmar, but was searching through google and found this other company - Argus Car Hire. Was thinking of using them, as they are a lot cheaper but as they want the money upfront, just a little worried about paying in case we have any problems. If there is anyone out there who have use Argus, please can we have some feedback.
Cheers

Hi Rachel & Simon,
Argus Car Hire have been around for quite a number of years now. In fact, they used to advertise on TV on slots during the old Holiday Programme on BBC.
For your info, I've just got an amazing deal with Hertz. I picked it ip through www.travelsupermarket.com and seven days hire at the end of thios month through Hertz on a family sized car was £155- with unlimited mileage etc.. It was far cheaper than anyone else and very handy for me as I'm a Hertz Gold Card member too, although that didn't make it any cheaper.
The strange thing is that Hertz aren't at San Javier airport, they're represented by Solmar and the exact same rental direct through Solmar was £199- ..!!

Hi Rachel and Simon
Haven’t used them myself as I usually use DoYouSpain, but they are an established company that have been around for some time. I would recommend if you are pre-paying any company you do so with a credit card NOT debit card, as by paying by credit card, as long as the goods or service cost more than £100 but not more than £30,000 then you are protected by section 75 of the consumer credit act which makes the credit card company equally liable for your payment. In other words, if the company stops trading you can expect to be refunded all your losses from the credit card company.

Hi
Thanks for your advice. Yes I think credit card is a good idea!
I will give travelsupermarket.com a go too.
Thank you.

Hiya
A word of warning - I have just booked a car from San Javier for a week on the 23rd July - They appear to be running low. The only company that seems available is Sol Mar. My advise is to try and book as soon as you can over the Summer months. We had a horrible experience at easter and had to pay well over the odds to get a car
Cheers

Hello there
Do not know if anyone has mentioned F & C car hire. As we are resident we do not hire cars nowadays but used them several times for holidays. They had reasonable prices and cars picked up at airport. There is an office on Camposol or google them if interested.
