dakey . you are very quiet. last post you said you would win all your last matches easily. . before that you would beat the great man city. mystic meg- whats happened. all of a sudden you are out the fa cup. your lead in the pl is a slim 4 points with arse(who if they had spent wisely in the winter would be champs by now but the manger prefers to keep his dividends). and on your pathetic display against newcastle barca will wipe the floor with you( unless you get a fergie ref like you had ag chelsea), however in europe you are way behind barca and dont expect any refereeing favours from uefa this time..

Just watched the North London derby. Every now and then the premiership kicks up a couple of games that prove how fantastic the league is. This was certainly one of em. Both teams desperate for the win and ready to kick lumps out of each other. Not sure the Gung Ho, Cavalier approach suits our Mr Mancini's once defensive ideals though ha ha
Dave
Hope Dakey's not gone off sulking again and back on the booze. Its only a game mate and your lot will be good again sometime awww bless

Dont worry fellas, still here. Six points clear, better goal difference and only five games to go. I know we have to play Arsenal and Chelsea, but why should we worry about two teams that we have already dicked four times already this year? I can also see Stoke beating the bitters and Spurs pipping them for the Champions league spot like last year. Now that, along with us beating Real Madrid or Barca in the final will really be a nice finish, with all the southern softies nowhere yet again!
Cheers, Dakey

George,
I notice you got on to this topic with Kev and you really need to take off your blinkers. Since the Premiership began Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal, indeed lets throw in every London club, have won less then HALF of what Utd have won on their own! add Liverpools trophies even though they have not won the league and there is no contest. Narrow it down if you want, after the league arrives back this year we will have four titles and a champions league in the last five years, again we have eclipsed the entire London area on our own. God forbid, going forward when we throw Man Citys' potential into the mix I can see no other outcome but total domination by North West Clubs. Dont go on about 2nd and 3rd places and Championship clubs as second is nowhere and no one remembers runners up, ever!
I am also willing to back my team in the Final, if we get there, However, As you seem to think Barca are the best team ever and we are shite then you dont mention the odds you are giving me. I was going to place a 40 pound bet in the bookies anyway, whoever we play and I think it will be Real Madrid if we get through although that is not guaranteed as it would be disrespectful to Schalke to suggest it is a non contest. I would be perfectly willing to deflect that bet over to you instead if you have got the money to throw away and you give me the same odds as the bookies at the time.
Cheers, Dakey

George,
I completely forgot to mention our youth teams thrashing of your youngsters in last nights FA youth cup semi-final. Now that must be really worrying for all you Chelsea fans, as if its not bad enough that your expensively assembled team keeps getting taken apart by the mighty reds, your youth team have now accepted the same maulings and just roll over and let their bellies be tickled. As I say ,it has got to be worrying that now Eufa has taken steps to curb unearned spending that your next generation are as bad as the seniors. looking rosier by the minute for us thick Northerners.

George and the largely absent these days, Jay
I am just watching sky sports news while the wife recovers from a night out last night and they are trying their best to create a title race so I just thought I would do my own evaluation to see if they have got a point. Fellas, it makes depressing reading for you both. If we win our two home games against Everton and Blackpool and win the away game at Blackburn we would have 79 points. Chelsea and Arsenal can only get to that total if they both win their last 5 games each including both of you beating United. I know it is all ifs and buts, but even in your wildest fantasy that situation could never happen, could it?..............

Guys,
Just got back onto this as I'm over in Condado at the moment and only just got internet connection sorted. Lived without it for 2 years over here but can't bear to miss all the nonsense everyone but Dakey writes. More entertaining than the football itself.
Anyway - a few catch up points:
George - I included Birmingham in my list of Northern clubs as I thought you lot down South counted everyone north of the Watford gap as Northerners...
Dakey - I didn't know Chelsea had a youth team ? I didn't know they bought anyone who wasn't already an overpriced international (and couldn't hit a barn door from a couple of yards away). You're right that the maths of a challenge from either Chelsea or Arsenal don't stack up. Lets face it they can't win either way - we have to lose it. As for the CL - I have a feeling destiny says it will be Utd vs RM and Ronnie in the final at Wembley - with a Utd win! Having seen the game this week it will be hard for RM over 2 legs but Barce aren't unbeatable.
Don't think we'll hear from Jay for a good while.
Must get to a bar to see the lunchtime game and us stretch our lead...

...and Chicco strikes again. At this rate we'll be able to put out the reserves against Chelsea and the gooners as it won't matter by then.
Much as I hate to I must credit Chelsea though. They've put in a good run to at least make us glance over our shoulders. Pressure on Arsenal now for tomorrow.

Fellas,
4 games to go, two wins and a draw away from history. I, like you Kev, have to give Chelsea some credit for their current form, making us glance backwards to see where they are. I have to say though that they were written off some time ago so they are playing without pressure and just enjoying their football to see where it eventually leaves them. I am glad that they are bang in form and Torres has finally scored as now they will have absolutely no excuses come O/T. As Sir Alex said yesterday, people are saying we have to play Chelsea and Arsenal so its not over. What planet have they been on? We beat Arsenal in the FA cup and beat a flying Chelsea home and away in the CL. Why on earth do they think we are going to lose those games? it is just as likely that we will win or at least draw them both. Thats for later though, first we have to sort out Shalke and the priority is to be still in with a chance after the first leg unlike Inter to get us into our dream final, against Real Madrid as the Barca myth implodes on them just like last year and that will be frustrating as we will be denied the chance to put them in their place.
Just a final point though, Fergie got it wrong against City leaving out Chico and Giggs in our third priority competition who along with Rooney had been our best players of late. however, To play a weakened team against an in form Everton in the league with Chelsea breathing fire took courage and that is why Fergie is the absolute master and I for one hope his health endures into his eighties and beyond.
Cheers, Dakey

I have just endured a long trip from manchester through amsterdam to billund then on to esbjerg in denmark to meet my helicopter check-in tomorrow morning, so I have not seen any football or news today. Having just logged on in my hotel room to catch up, my heart bleeds for my mate Jay and his fellow gooners who almost overnight have become the laughing stock of English top flight football. When asked for a comment Arsen said; We have to win the next game and fight to the very end. Is the record stuck? he has been saying that since xmas! I think the time has come for him to depart, but like Benetez I hope not for while they are, were in charge it meant that we could keep on winning trophies with impunity. Anyone can make mistakes as long as you learn from them, but Wengers comments this weekend about not spending big to solve his obvious problems means he is no longer fit to manage such a great club and must step down immediately. Like the middle eastern dictators though I fear he will cling on at any cost to his crumbling empire.
Has anyone else got any opinions on the faltering gunners? Jay mate where are you? you have not done anything stupid have you. It is only a game after all!
Cheers, dakey

Coming to the end of a most enjoyable week on Condado. Fly home tomorrow but it has been great and the place is looking as good as ever. My enjoyment has only been enhanced by the performances of England's finest - Utd plough on relentlessly whilst Chelsea desperately try to resurrect their empty seaon and convince everyone they still have a chance of catching the best team in Europe (Yes Europe - Utd have to play competitive games every week not a couple of times a season like the second best team in Europe from Spain). Whilst this farce plays out Arsenal play the part of the guy whose trousers fall down whilst trying to maintain a little bit of dignity - I can't wait to play them this weekend. First though we have a CL semi final (4 in 5 years) and fly the flag for England again given the failure of our national counterparts from down south.
Wait a minute - don't City play tonight? Not sure really but if they are there could be more laughs in store. Of little relevence whatever.
Come on you reds !

Kev,
My type of post, mate. You will have people thinking I am posting under a false name as well as my own if you keep that up! Its funny though that for some reason our southern based friends have gone quiet all of a sudden, I wonder what has upset them so much? It cant be the abysmal performances of their teams can it? I mean even City have stepped up to the plate and shown a bit of northern bottle. Just a draw needed at the Emirates to set up the possibility of winning it against Chelsea at O/T. Now it couldnt have worked out better, the 19th title by doing the business against our two closest rivals. Magic!
Cheers, Dakey

Average Utd team eh, George? worst Utd team for decades eh, Jay? With hindsight, a master stroke to play a weakened team against the bitters in the tin pot cup, eh, Dave? Now if Barcelona had just put in that performance we would be drooling about them for weeks saying how they are the best team in history, eh, Jay and lets not forget that the Germans had just taken the holders to the cleaners home and away! 2-0 is a great score away in a two legged semi but it could easily have been double figures. Oh and by the way George you have not got back on since I asked you for bookies odds have you lost your bottle? Anyway, the gunners next then Chelski and that will be the title wrapped up, then we can all sit back and cheer on Stoke before the big CL final. Anyone else enjoying the run in?
Cheers, Dakey

Me again fellas, talking to myself again. I have just seen Fergies post match interview and he is talking about 6 or 7 changes against the gunners to keep everyone fresh. I dont always agree with him but playing what amounts to a reserve team worked against them in the FA Cup and that is his problem, Arsenal, whether home or away is just not a big game for us anymore. That might sting a bit Jay, but that is just the way it is:
