My point was not if players would come, but only that Utd are the only English club big enough to even try. Chelseas signing of Stones, Pedro and Falcao etc only shows that you pursue second rate players and granted some of them go on to establish themselves. Same with City and their buys they are all punts on second rate players, some of whom then come good. None of you even attempt to sign the mega players and laugh at Utd when we do. Di Maria is an example of top top players coming to Utd. He did not succeed but at the time of signing he was MOM in the CL final win and one of Madrids superstars who they wanted to keep. Those 3 big clubs are nervous of Utds approaches and laugh at the rest of you. Name me one top player from a top club that City, Arsenal and Chelsea have signed, just one! and I dont mean players from smaller clubs who have come good later or big club bench warmers like Sanchez or Toure

George, remind me, what top clubs did you sign those mentioned players from? more a case of taking a punt and them coming good as I said.

It's only useless info to folk who have no interest in the history of their club, I had a mate who's brother played for Man Utd for a season, he scored against England directly after their World Cup victory, I like knowing about everything football, unlike most Man Utd supporters.

De Gea has been dropped and will go when King Louis says. Di Maria, Van Persie and Falcao all binned unceremoniously by King Louis, not wanted. Signed Germanys current Captain from one of the big 3 clubs that I was talking about and yes we also sign the type of player you all sign the ones that we all take a punt on. Shaw and Shniderlin not doing too shabbily.
Now, why did everyone think that soon to be Englands greatest ever goalscorer and Utds greatest ever goalscorer with 33 CL goals to boot was past it at 29 years old. Can see why Jose moved heaven and earth trying to sign him before settling for the inferior nutter Costa.
Looking at it objectively without a hint of bias, I think we watched this years CL winners in action tonight in Belgium.
George, when are you due back in Condado so I can put your winnings in the clover for your arrival.

I am not sure Chaddy, probably some team in football pre history decades ago. It wouldnt be the same team that has won domestic silverware under the guidance of a rich owner but have never progressed past the last 16 in european modern football would it?
Dont you get some funny things leading up to the transfer deadline. I have been reading for the past 6 weeks that City are about to sign the ex Chelsea reserve who has had one good season in Germany. 6 weeks ago the deal was £40 million This morning it is at £54 million and rising and the deal is still not done. Hilarious!

Just been reported that they have offered the 'Chelsea reserve' £300k per week till 2021!!!!???. The poor kid is in shock, he is muttering to himself ' Do they mean me? surely not'.
George, a bit of insight here needed mate, he was at your club and couldnt break in to the team. What has he got that none of us outside the bitters have noticed. I mean, there isnt a queue of top clubs bidding for him is there. City appear to be in a bidding war with themselves.

de bruyne is never in a million years worth 54 mio. He didnt cut it at chelsea in the PL due to standard of league here and there is only 1 decent team in germany so not hard to impress in that league, i wouldnt pay for than 5 mio for him

That is exactly my point and by the way it was 54 million yesterday, who knows what it will be today. I cannot knock City for paying stupid money on players from smaller clubs who are basically unproven as it worked with Aguero, but that was a fluke and they scratch their heads wondering why they cannot progress into the CL later stages when it is obvious to the rest of us.

you are certainly getting the rub at the minute, I know that Mitrovic is a nutter but that was never a red card in a million years and another own goal to boot. Got to laugh at Liverpool and Chelsea but there are plenty of decent teams around the league and they wont be the last shock results. Swansea took 6 points off us last year so a bit of payback is required tomorrow although it wont be easy
