Jay,
Lot of paralels between you and Chelsea and us and City, They are another club who would be nowhere near silverware just on their own merits and have a sheister owner with unlimited wealth 'stolen' from the people of his country, similar to most oil barons from 3rd world countries actually. The difference is that while you have a prudent owner who makes sure the club is run properly, ours bought the club with money he didnt have ( and was shamefully allowed to do it) and continues to milk us dry. The fact that we are still competing at the very top is testament to the business model being robust enough to cope with the robbery that is going on within our club, but the sooner we manage to get shut of them the better!

I cannot by any means be construed as a Liverpool fan but your comment about history coming from a Spurs fan is a bit amusing. In the here and now they have the carling cup on the shelf and are competing in the FA cup final this weekend! I am sure you would settle for a bit of that 'recent history' wouldnt you?

But No I wouldn't...if Spurs had put out the tripe Pool has this year I would have shot myself. We've been on the right side and the wrong side of some great games this year with some fantastic play and great goals. In goal scoring Liverpool are in the same league as the likes of West Brom and Norwich.
My point is that Liverpool fans still delude themselves they are a force in English football based on history...they are a great cup team as nearly every game they turn up for generates into a 1-0 result (if you're lucky). There are some occassional exceptions but in general they somehow manage to turn nearly every game into one which has me reaching for the off switch.
Lets remember Liverpool had a constant flow of money from the CL, something which I don't see them getting ever again (constant I mean). I wonder how this will affect their signings in the next few seasons.
I'm sure you wouldn't take their season, (that is if City win the league and your prayers to Buddha go unanswered), just becasue of a piece of silverware. Or would you??

I hope after resting 6 players we are now fitter for lpool, because chelsea looked exhauested tonight after playing games twice a week since end of February which is much more then most english sides that have been playing since xmas for nothing but pride !

Thought it was a bit disrespectful again last night on sky when they said Spurs were challenging Arsenal for third spot, but no mention of Newcastle. My newly adopted friends from the sunny north east have as much chance as anyone albeit with tougher games and its any two from three, a situation where it is Arsenal who could miss out completely. They all have to bust a gut to get third with the very real possibility that 4th will not make it. Big battle at the top, big battle for third and a massive scrap at the bottom. It might lack a bit of quality at times but the premier league is second to none for sheer drama.

Well done chelsea. Drogba brilliant again at the ground where he always scores. 4 goasl in 4 seperate finals is a new record! The FA cup should be be renamed the chelsea fa cup !

save of the season and maybe the decade. inconclusive abouyt ball crossing the line. must be a clear gap between ball and line and there wasnt so great save cech and no goal. chelsea win fair and square.

I agree with Kev that you get more than your fair share of decisions, but today was not one of those occasions. No way was that ball over the line, A brilliant save by the keeper, but as an ex centre forward myself Carrol wants shooting for the miss. It is drummed into you as a young striker to head the ball firmly downwards into the ground in those situations and the keeper then has next to no chance. Dalgliesh, another manager just like Fergie against City, starting the game negatively got exactly what his team selection deserved, just like Fergie. I hope tomorrow sees the teams having a real go at it. I dont know about squeakey bum time for us, but it certainly is for the gunners with the very real possibility of missing out on CL next year and did you see Wengers tantrum again at the end?
On a final note George, We have won the FA Cup 11 times to your 6, The competition didnt start 6 years ago, if they are naming it after anyone I think we will take that accolade mate.

Just seen arsenals result from yesterday, I think jay might be joining you dakey if spurs win! maybe they wont be top london side after all! and a small interesting fact is that di matteo ( who jay likes to call the undertaker) but we like to call GOD has one more in 3 months than arsene wenger has won in over 7 years! mind you one day those arsenal young guns may win some thing- but it may be another 7 years as they will be 32 then ! Just shows that hansen was right albeit a few years later- you dont win nathing with kids!
