Dakey ain't it always the way. Two days after breaking down your unbeaten run for us you get demolished by the bottom team in the premiership.
Languageses>en GoogleCE
But is it wasn't silver lining in the league or CL.

i know it was only our reserves but ouch, it still hurts. cant complain too much, that reserve team basically has won the carling cup in 3 of the last 4 years. good luck to west ham, i dont know if i should count a reserve team defeat as the end of our unbeaten run, what do you lads think?

Jay,
I have always been loud and proud about my team and if I have jinxed them to dominate the English game for twenty years, I think I will carry on a little bit longer. I accept though that people will be queuing up to have a laugh when things go pear shaped, but i can put up with that a couple of times a season.
Cheers, Dakey

Do your jinxing powers work the other way round. Could you jinx a certain team out of an unlucky trophyless spell maybe?
xx
I know, I'm waiting for it!!!!
Stupid weather for a game tonight

Good Morning Dave,
Congratulations on your fine display in the "nothing Cup" that nobody cares about. Gordon Bennett, heaven forbid that you draw Rangers, it would be like having an invisible Berlin Wall along the half way line.
I have to agree with you on Evans, he is useless. I remember last year telling Jeb to get Moyes to take him off our hands, but I think Fergies boxing clever, he is waiting for a £23 million pound bid from City, which is your usual bid for shite players.
Cheers Dakey

What an absolute farce that was in Zurich today, We had the best bid by a country mile and finished last! I think Panorama are correct, what a bunch of bent freeloading morons who run FIFA, we should have nothing more to do with them and pull out altogether.
One thing that interested me about the bid was that one of the grounds we would use was a new 68,000 seater Liverpool Stadium. Add to that plans to extend Eastlands by 20,000 to make that 68,000. Are they having a laugh? they cant fill the ones they have already got, they must be extending the away supporter allocation to 25,000. Come to think of it, the bid was probably turned down because with things like that in it they couldnt take it seriously.
Cheers Dakey

Don't you think that maybe the BBC airing a programme accusing the guys (the ones they want to vote for their bid) of fraud a couple of days before the vote may have pissed some of them off a little.
Big jump going from being favourite to getting just 2 votes.
But the voting seems farcical...after Eng got the boot I'd expect the next round to be the same votes with the Eng votes then added to their second choices. But it seems another couple of people changed their mind from the first vote as well.

Agree big style guys. Totally gutted and unimpressed. Who are these non descript corrupt third world individuals. Only sensible thought is its two totally new areas of the world. But Qatar over Australia.
Been there, only 150 miles by about 90miles and giving them 11 years to get it ready. Also I don't ever remember meeting a happy chucklesome Russian person. Always very strange staring race.
Suppose it wont affect us Scots too much. Spain / Portugal would've been nice

Been reading some of the fallout. Some interesting comments:
1) Russia and Qatar had the two worst risk ratings or technical rating (not sure how this is rated but comes from their technical reports)
2) Russia and Qatar are the only two oil rich countries
I can understand the basis of Russia getting it but Qatar? Apparantley they only have 3 stadiums and are to build another 9 for the Cup. All of these will be within 20 miles of each other (so I read). Sounds great for getting to games but that means every countries supporters will be looking to stay in the same place. And I can only imagine the problems caused by supporters drinking in the 40-45 degree heat...or being squashed into the few airconditioned bars. If it comes off will be an amazing thing...air conditioned stadiums for the players and spectators.

Shane,
I read somewhere yesterday that Qatar is a strict no alcohol country. That should go down well with almost nobody. It just goes to show that putting together a professional bid counts for nothing. Fifa only have the power because we give it to them and empower them. like with darts and snooker, if the governing body is corrupt or inept then break away. we dont have to put up with all that shite. If the top footballing countries formed their own organisation, those little third world non entities can stew in their own bankrupt juices.

When it comes down to it...it's all about money. FIFA went where the money was.
Qatar has no alcohol policy for Muslims but has bars in the hotels but no drinking in public. Apparantley they will install "fun zones" where alcohol can be consumed outside...but it'll be 40+ degrees!

Shane,
That is not strictly true, all the serious commentators say that Englands bid would be the most profitable for FIFA, indeed, David Cameron said that the bid included investment throughout the world of football that would mean by 2015 England would be giving more money to world football than FIFA . No, it is more about 22 people corrupted by power doing little deals, with some of them, no doubt, getting their palms greased and we should refuse to have anything else to do with them until they change the system to one where the best bid wins on merit. By the way, that would then allow the Premier League to bring in video technology which these clowns continually refuse to accept.

Maybe the delegates went where the money was!!
There were probably some promises to fund things outside the world cup that made the bids very beneficial.
I have to say I am going to be very interested in seeing how Qatar goes. Everything will be so modern and advanced...but such a small place.
