Jay no one likes us because they are jealous of all our recent trophies.
Sad fact is even tottenham and swansea have got more trophies than the arse in recent years.

George Keep kidding yourself if you like. It's not what you do it's the way that you do it and that's what defines you. So suck it up and accept the truth. Arsenal utd. Liverpool and even sp*ds have got it and your mob will never have it. Jay

Jay,
you are quite correct in that we need to 'come good' and quickly. However, we are unbeaten in the CL and with more points than the rest so is there a need to 'come good' or do we just carry on as is? (we definately need to up the anti in the league though, I will grant you that)
We will be finding some answers very shortly on the depth of Arsenals improved form as Chelsea, Liverpool and Utd beckon after the gimmee this weekend.

Jay, show me an unhappy chelsea fan and ill agree. I think youll find there are alot more unhappy arse fans than chelsea fans because youre lot are incapable of winning trophies anymore. Who cares where the money comes from as long as its there.. Ask Blackburn fans if they are gutted then won the league because of financial input.
As for our hero Roman I think youll be gutted to find he is there for the long run and even if he left now his legacies of fantatstic training facilities and a superb youth set up will stay forever.
I think youll find loser wenger goes before Roman the Great..For a packet of sweets and a cheeky smile-lol.
Dakey i dont know if youve spotted it but no one likes manure either except manure fans- makes us kinda equal on that respct then-lol.Maybe something to do with your arrogance! But you lot are so arrogant you probably wouldnt ever spot that!

George
People dont like us because of our success over a long period. It is well known that the british dont like winners and latch on to the underdog. it is probably a good trait to have as well I think.
People dont like Chelsea, like they dont like City because you are in a completely false position relating to your clubs natural place in the pecking order, due to a one off owner adopting you as a plaything. In the past most people had a soft spot for both Chelsea and City as they strove manfully to improve under their own natural development. Now, people just have distain for you both and rightly so........ Oh and you both are not very likeable either.

Nothing wrong with City as they were and are still a very well supported club with decent fans who had to endure a lot of hard times but have been there through the thinner times. Chelski have always thought they were Charlie big potatoes even when they'd only so won the league a pathetic once in black & white!! They've bobbed about up and down the divisions throughout the decades and have been associated with the worst of fans including the fascist C18 group and of course have their racist leader Terry as there figure head. Is there any reason for the public to like them?? I think not! Simple as that. Jay

Jay,
You have got rose tinted glasses on as far as the detestable bitters are concerned, but closer to home you have it spot on with Chelsea cannot question a single point you make about them, its just that pre russian money they were a lot of peoples 2nd team just like the bitters were.... but not now for either of them.

George,
I will grant you that City have a loyal fan base of about one third of mancunians and those loyal fans followed the team down to the old third division with gates over 20,000 in that division and that is to be commended. Despite their spending of unearned income there has always been a 'higher level gate they can attract of around 50,000 for the top games and considerably less for lesser games. The owners will find that out if they push through the folly of expanding the ground. By the way, I dont know how they have worked that one in, that would be like me building an extention on my neighbours house, or a tenant in a Condado apartment extending the owners property. THEY DONT OWN THE GROUND!!.
Chelsea, however have no such fan base. When Chelsea struggle the gates plummet as all the hangers on melt back into wherever they have crawled from and some of the poorest gates have come at the 'Bridge' prior to the russian money temporarily changing things.

Check your facts about loyal fans George.......I remember the days, early eighties, when the mighty Chelsea were regularly attracting crowds of less than 10,000....!! That shows how loyal you lot are. As is rightly pointed out on here by the regular posters - the vast majority have come out of the woodwork in the Chelski era - cannot be compared to the Bitters at all - although some of the 'offers' being advertised to entice the bitters into the council house for CL games this season are unbelievable. The CL is a new comp for them, you'd think they would be queuing around the block for tickets, particualry as they only have 3 a season..!!

Skell,
As usual you talk complete sense unlike Chaddy. It is not the ticket price that is the problem, offering cut price tickets to some games is good business for any club including City as that attracts fans who otherwise might not be able to afford to go and once they are hooked they, and their children might not be poor forever. It is a way of building up the fan base gradually as well as alowing people from all walks of life to afford it. Having said all that, when you put on as many offers as City do and still dont fill the ground then you have a massive problem in that you just dont have enough supporters, simple as! to then toy with the idea of putting in more seats is absolute folly and will look even more ridiculous than ever.

Back to the football, couple of tough games now for the gunners so we will see if they have the stuff to maintain the current run. As for us, Abysmal at the back, still not playing any decent football, but the reason we will be in there at the end once we settle down is we have THREE forwards who given a fair run of games who will all score 20 plus goals in a season and that 60 or 70 goals will give any team a fighting chance. Nice to see the Moysiah making positive substitutions for a change and the fact that it paid off may just change his mindset in future.

Just to clarify... £5 for under 16s for the Norwich game. Not generally. I'd have thought we would all welcome clubs encouraging youngsters to get into games and get the bug for football. I guess not, another difference in the culture of various clubs. Good comeback yesterday which generated a good atmosphere in the Clover. Went to the Southampton game last week and don't think we're playing too badly. Just need the breaks to go our way up front and more confidence in defence. It'll come together and we're still not far behind which given everything is a statement about the strength of others too. Interesting game between the rich boys playthings this afternoon. Who will have the bottle to win it I wonder?

Quarter of the season gone and Torres first league goal, that says it all about him. As far as City are concerned, any team that allows a player like that to score cannot be serious contenders.
