I've been watching footie for 46 years and never seen a team 3rd in the league but playing such crap. Surely relying on that well known blue moaner Mr Webb to disallow perfectly good goals every week isn't the way forward. All gone quiet on the Shitty front.
And come on George. You must be chuffed holding Swansea to a draw. Haven't heard whether you've threatened any refs with broken legs and the like this afternoon but cheer up - you'll soon have your charismatic legend back leading you to more controversy.

Unlike me and you and also Jay and Neil and a few others who post irrespective of whether we are on the up or down, you will not hear a peep out of the bitters until and IF their fortunes turn around! Chaddy has renaged already and we will have to post about 50 derogatory posts to entice a comment out of Dave Roy who will be almost suicidal at this moment with Utd top. Dont worry Dave, when you make your exit from the CL this week you will be able to concentrate fully on earning a Europa league spot, or I would suggest resting your best players from league action (that you have no chance of winning) and save them for an all out assault on the FA cup in January.

One other thing that's hit the headlines today and I spoke to my lad about yesterday was Santos swapping shirts with RIP at half time.
Are these players seriously that thick (Terry obviously is) but all of them. They can't realise how damaging an action like that can be for the relationship of the fan to the player. They obviously have no clue about the way us fans feel about football and it shows us really where a lot of there heads are during the games in my opinion it's up there own ars*holes most of the time.

Another in a long line of players that have come to our county to ply their trade and don't get the culture of football in England and another one that I would gladly drive (even at 162 mph in the hard shoulder) to anywhere in the world to get him out of the Arsenal.

Do you remember at school when you played football and when one team were giving the other a tonking, at half time some of the winning teams good players would change sides with the oppositions bad players to even it up a bit........ I think that is all RVP and Santos were doing mate, nothing more.

Well,
CL coming up next and I thought I would cut the bitters some slack, because if you believe what you read they were drawn in the group of death..... then I decided to do some digging and came up with a surprising fact that the other 3 teams in their group are all living on past glories. Real Madrid are 3rd in Spain, but so far behind Barca its over already. The situation in Germany and Holland is even worse. Ajax and Dortmund are double figure points behind the leaders already and also have no chance of winning their respective leagues and these three teams have battered City to a pulp in their group games so far. Funny stat that isnt it fellas.
By the way, in our group that is suppossed to be easy, Galatasary are runaway leaders in Turkey and Bragge are vieing for top spot in Portugal with Benfica and Porto.
Sometimes you have to look behind the glamour of the name to get at the actual facts of the matter.

Thought it about time I returned to this thread, now normal service has been resumed....
All things considered I have to say, that is the worst Arsenal team I have seen at OT for over 20 years. As you have already admitted, the scoreline flattered guys, but as a Wenger fan of old, I just cannot fathom out some of his current thinking. I know Walcott has contract issues, but surely he has to start him this week..? Santos makes Potty & Raffa look world class full backs, which they clearly aren't, although have to say both are showing better from of late - which I believe is down to healthy competiton for places.
I know you are not a big admirer of the current Utd team, but I think things are developing nicely. Good competiton for places throughot the team, even Anderson seems to be getting better, and Kagawa will be the real deal by the end of the season.
As you & Dakes have rightly observed, the "New Money" men have all gone a bit quiet for now, but as the season ebbs & flows along I am sure they will be back soon.

Nice to see you posting again, the more the merrier. There have been plenty of epic games this season already but providing they buck their ideas up there is a real mouth watering tie coming up around March time..... City v Chelsea in a two legged Europa cup clash in front of two half empty stadiums. I cant wait for that one to come around!

Missed my first game for a while, just had a fantastic weekend in Dublin Watched our game in temple bar, shooting boots temporarily missing Who'd have thought a game between utd and arsenal would be popular with the Irish ha ha Gonna miss a couple more after next week. Off to South Africa. Wednesday should be a good test

Being as the City boys have given up after their few months of expensive glory can I ask if there are any scousers of the red variety out there? I'd like to thank you because, after the expensive over rated flops at the Etihad and the unbelievable racists at that Russian enclave down south, your boys are giving me an awful lot of pleasure. Rumour has it that Suarez might defect to Chelski because he'll feel more at home there and that would leave you with no forwards at all (unless they swap him for Tom Daley Fernando Torres)...

Nice to see you with a bit of fire in your belly, CL week this week mate and you have your long "beaten run" to uphold there mate. It looks like you are going to finish bottom in the group of "Dea.. dlegs", In fact that group is so bad on current form that only City have any chance of winning their respective domestic title and at such an early stage as well. You and Chelsea may turn it around but as things stand this year looks like being the worst ever showing of both the English Champions and the CL holders!. You are both causing us as a country a great deal of embarrassment, but its nice to see so I will accept that. Enjoy your globe hopping Dave, but you will have to come back eventually and watch the bitters again.
I am stuck on the Tiffany platform since they grounded the EC225 helicopters a couple of weeks ago after yet another one had to ditch in the north sea with a broken gearshaft. thats 4 of them now, one fatal in the last few years all with the same fault. Came on for a 3 day job and still stuck on here after 2 weeks and counting. The upside is I am first in the TV room to claim the remote control ( something I am very good at) so I control the matches we watch. The Rangers fans on here didnt realise that what they have been watching all these years isnt football as most people know it and are quite enjoying the Premier league fayre on offer instead. I am signing off now to reserve my armchair for this weeks offerings. I'll be back!!

Hope you and yours are all good.
What can I say about saturday.....I can't really argue with anything you have said even if it is hard to listen to. We simply are not firing on all cylinders but that goes right through the club. I like you have been watching football for a long time and I have noticed one thing that all proper successful teams have in order for them to win titles and competitions and that thing is unity. Unity right through from the youth team, reserve team manager, first team coach and board. We have had that in the past, Liverpool have had it and so have UTD.
Well mate we aint got it now!!! We might have the most beautiful self sustaining business model of all the clubs but with the boardroom we now have we are in right trouble. Nobody know's who, what or why Stan Kronke is involved in our club because he quite literally says schweet FA in any AGM's or meetings and as far as I know has never given an interview.
Last weeks AGM was a lock down controlled by another faceless corporate geezer(Ivan Gazidies) who skillfully evaded all pertinent questions relating to transfer policy, team performance and the board as a whole treated all the shareholders in the meeting like idiots patronising them and generally belittling anyone who dared to ask questions. It finished with a pompous Hill Wood thanking everyones interest in "their" affairs as if the affairs of the club were nothing do with the little people who are indeed shareholders.
It seems like a long time ago when Roy Keane mentioned the P S B's well our club has completely and utterly targetted that market. We have built an amazing sporting arena which is in my opinion the greatest of it's type in the country the problem is I hate it. If you were to go and watch cold play or springstein (heaven forbid) there you would probably say it's one of the best arena's in the world but on a matchday unless it's against UTD Sp*rs or Chelski it's an absolute joke. People use to take the piss about Highbury but that place use to generate a great buzz and atmosphere from the way it was set up. The new place has 25,000 new fans in it and I don't know any of them. The two middle tiers are where the focus is at Arsenal now mate, £3,500 a season ticket in club level and God only knows how much for the boxes which completely encircle the ground tells the story, a story of profit over passion.
For a bloke like me who meets his pals in the pub by the tube and walks in the ground 5 mins before kick off doesn't buy a programme and only goes in the shop once year I think my days are numbered. I really am beginning to believe they don't want us anymore. They want corporate souless fans to go and pay top dollar in the corporate souless seats in club level and Japanese, Scandanavian or American tourist fans to have my seat and spend loads of money buying pints and foot long hot dogs in the stadium and a couple of hundred quid in the shop.
Well if that's what they want then that is what there going to get. The club completely lacks heart and passion and is being driven on a profit not perfromance basis. The only performance they demand is that Arsenal get champions league qualification so that those corporate tickets get sold. Wenger said at the AGM that there are 5 trophies to aim at and that the FA CUP and Capital One are the bottom two. That means he see's the CL qualification as a trophy now!!!!
The season tickets are sold in early June and over the last two seasons major player sales are made in late July or early August once the tickets have been well and truly sold......do they think we're that stupid.
If you want passionless corporate spectators who probably earn massive amounts of money then you will get passionless football players who definitely earn to much money and that my old mate what we all saw at Old Trafford (apart from Jack Wilshire who is one of our own).
Nobody sings the players names anymore from 1-11 like we use to, the players don't relate to fans and fans don't relate to the players and whilst away support is excellent as it always has been the Emirates atmosphere is awful.
In the last few weeks we have beaten well at Norwich with a lack lustre performance, scaped past QPR with an offside goal and were 4 -0 down in 36 minutes against Reading. I know that was an amazing game but really 4-0 down to reading in 36 mins.........come on. Our new skipper passed the ball to RIP inside three minutes on sturday and the tone was set yet again.
Utd aren't the team they were but Ferguson is still the manager he was and the sum of the parts is what's its all about for you lot right now.
You know how I have always felt about the new money and that un-earnt income and not balancing the books is definitely not the way to do it but I have to be totally honest and say that doing it the Arsenal way right now is not the way either and whilst we might be able to hold our heads up high on one front I think we've been royally shafted by the current Arsenal. An Arsenal which for the first time I can say I really don't know anymore.

Jay - from the 'blardy' heart lad, it hurts doesn't it, all the money in the world doesn't buy happiness. I stopped going 5 years ago as you know (unlike Dakey who doesn't know where The Swamp is), couldn't stand the 'greed', the 'acting', and being treated like shite despite the fact we were paying guests.
Give me divvy 2 or divvy 3 anyday (away fans treated with respect and welcomed, except by South Yorkshire plod at Barnsley, Rotherham etc), and give me back Maine Rd, and as for Highbury then left me ticket back in manc once, rang up Highbury ticket office from the rattler, and they had a duplicate waiting for me when i got there ............ them were the days (you beat us as always tho), oh, and i were slim with hair and going out with Kelly Brook back then
