If the worst happens......... and Darren also ends up in the bar old George will be well pissed

Glad to hear it will always be just friendly banter in the club, the way it should be even with Dakey.

Come on the gooners.

Jay

watching the footie now glad its only a pint one down and could be alot more the game is a bit like sunday league at the mo.

I think Chelski are being a little unfair as they still have 11 on pitch and playing us of the park.

Doea anyone know were we can get a couple of full backs and quick !  WE are shite at the back.

26 mins gone and dreading the rest but you never know miricles happen

Sitting here in total shock.

cant believe i just watched a Chelsea team defend like that but as a Arsenal boy the smile is wide.

George will enjoy the beer and wont gloat, you can tell from the last post I was dreading the game and really thought we were gonna get stuffed.

Still we are on a great run at the mo and after the horrific start maybe just maybe the season has turned.

looking forward to watching footie in the bar as I have never seen a game there even thought I set it all up.

Bring on City in the carling (well maybe not with our fullbacks I better stay cautious)

Neil

 Well done neil, jay

Gota admit chelsea's defending was awful and arsenals finishing was better and they deserved the win.

Bring on the champions league and liverpool in the cup! Man city will cake walk the league and if we dont win it am happy for them to.

Well well,

What a turn around but I'm not shocked. Had a good feeling this morning and apart from two terrible mistakes from mertasacker I felt we were the better side and missed two absolute sitters early on. To be fair our goal keeper should of walked but we got lucky. Apart from that seeing the Terry practicing front crawl was the perfect end to his and my week. A massive win for the gooners and the 1st time since the 80's that chelski have let in 5 at the bridge. Wicked!!

Only downside is the chavs from chestnut have beaten Harlow 2 nil ...gutted!

Have a good weekend

Jay ;-)

Hey Jay, how ya doing mate?

Great win today and well deserved, also halted Cheski's persuit at the top.

Not a great performance at the Etihad today although the result was never in doubt even with 10 men.

Referee was an absolute disgrace!

Might take in the game at the Emirates in the league cup, could be fun

All the best

Tony

Nearly back Jay. Great result guys, watched on telly before our match, think the gods were against Chelsea's defence

Well read on our game Tony. First time we've had a ref perform like that for ages. Felt very sorry for Kompany. Was just slagging lazy Johnson when he scored a blinder whoops.

Going on team plane to valencia on tuesday should be good

Fellas,

Believe it or not, not watched any football today, Missus has had me out all day looking for tiles! Normal service has been resumed though and I am kicking myself for not putting money on us getting a couple of clean sheets in the two games immediately after the 'fluke'. I should have known better. I will have to watch MOD tomorrow morning but I must tip my hat to the Gunners, what a fantastic result. George tipping City to walk it before the end of October, shows what he knows about football and will make it all the more pleasing if we come through on the rails. Looking objectively forward, if we stay in touch into the new year, we will have a great chance as our run in is a lot easier on paper than Citys. Long way to go and we have not got anywhere near 'squeakey bum' time yet. I for one am going to enjoy the roller coaster ahead.

Cheers, Dakey

watched our narrow defeat to a fragile Manu in the condado sports club. Oh if we only had a striker  but Moysey will probably get young Jonny Evans in the January window and we'll hobble on with Louis and the kids coming through. It's a strange looking season with Spurs maybe emerging as number 2 or 3 to City, Chelski aging and in transition, Arsenal young and in transition, Liverpool living in false hope and Newcastle a surprise dark horse - at least things are more interesting than the two horse race of recent seasons

You can almost hear Fergies pep talk to Evans before the game, " Now son, I know you have had a nightmare, not only last week but all of last season. However, I have confidence in you now go out and prove me right......... " He lasted 30 seconds!! and almost gave a goal away. Thank goodness young Coleman miss hit the shot. At least he settled down after that.

Jeb, We may be fragile after last week but I feel a lot better  this monday than I did last monday I can tell you. I am glad that you like George have written us off already, Dont you ever learn?

Looking at the next 10 league fixtures, we dont play any of the so called big six teams wheras City have to play Liverpool home and away, Chelsea away and Arsenal at home. Come early January I think we will have a more balanced view of where we are after that, not now when people are getting carried away with one fluke result by the bitters coupled with victories over the leagues flotsam. Although they will have the big advantage of not having the distraction of CL football to worry about in the run in.

Cheers, Dakey

This is gonna hurt me but you have a point, Anytone who knows about footie should not be writing Utd off and if the title was decided B 4 Jan then us at the Arsenal would have one alot more than we have.

Its great to hear you call us one of the top 6 as a couple of weeks ago we were relegation fodder to most so its shows how a few weeks in footie is a long time.

The problem utd have in winning the league is the obvious weekness that have emerged and Fergie has hell off a job in correcting them and quickly whilst City do not seem to have any and now have quality cover in all positions so they are well set for a long hard season, Will the gap be to big by  Jan !!!!!

Can see City & Utd 1& 2

with Spurs, Arsenal Chelski, and poss Liverpool fighting for the other 2  (3rd Spurs 4th Arsenal or Chelski Im guessing)

But one thing is for sure intresting till the end.

Neil

Neil,

That is a highly intelligent post and I agree with every word of it. The only question is Utd or City to win it and although I am biased towards my own team I do try and be objective in my assessments as well. I agree, City are certainly looking good at the moment, but wasnt everyone handing Chelsea the title this time last year as well? They were smashing everyone and I got slated for merely pointing out that they had been given a relatively easy start and the time to judge them would be after sterner tests. We all know they subsequently failed on that score. Now I am saying, yes, Great result against Utd, but the other stern tests in the CL have seen City found wanting and the time to judge them is in January after the upcoming run of games against the top sides and then obviously at the end after the 'squeakey bum' period which they have never gone through as a team yet so who knows how they will react to that...  We all know how Utd usually deal with that later period of pressure dont we. On the subject of weaknesses, I dont think Kompany and Lescott have suddenly morphed into Franz Beckenbauer and Bobby Moore and Gail Clichy is more like Gail Tilesley than a top footballer so we all have our crosses to bear on that score.

Anyway Neil, it is a pleasure to engage in sensible debate with someone instead of the uneducated bile that usually drifts in my direction.

Cheers, Dakey

Hey Neil, Dakey

Good discussion and only time will tell - City have not had the sternest of tests but you can only beat what is put in front of you and it is only Tottenham who have given us a game so far, and that was only for 30 minutes! I do agree though it will not be until after Christmas until we see how the league is really mapped out although I am sure you would like to swap places right now!

Lescott jury is out and I am not his biggest fan although he seems to be improving all the time, still can't disguise a pass though!

Kompany hardly puts a foot wrong and was left wanting by Hart's parry at the weekend

Clichy or Evra - no competition so if Clichy is Gail Tilsley then Evra is Pepper Pig!!

I won't mention Jonny Evans or should I say Jonny English!

Still learning in the Champions league, shame we have one point less than utd which is a major drama, very early days in our progression, only 2 years into the plan - go to bed thinking where City will be in a few years, i am sure it will be nightmares for you Dakey

Enjoy

Tony

Tony, Mate

Like I said, we all have our crosses to bear, Evans is one of ours among a few others, but the sum of the parts is what counts in the end.

I know where City will be in a few years when we have seen off your immediate challenge, you will be where Chelsea are now, ageing and Struggling! It always happens when players are just there for the money and have no feeling for the club or area. you will be a club with no soul and still a half full stadium. Mark my words, it is inevitable.

Dakey

accept that you are intilled to your point but have a few points on contention

Cliche as an Arsenal fan was a big blow in losing him especially as Gibbs is again injured. Cliche was Quality and moving to City Does not make him less.

Tony

Agree Kompany is starting to become a consistant class act and you will not have to defend to well if you keep scoring at this rate .

I await the hic up though all teams have them botchurbelly up front is bound to implode and do someing realy stupid as good as he is.

Neil

PS Can we have a little input from other fans as I cant ref betwwen the Manchesters all season.

How about Stoke for all their new talent they still shorten the pitch against Newcastle just for the big throw and thump up field.

Big Sam A was a disgrace to football always favering the whallop over good footie the futher he slides down the leagues the better for all ( I hate Him)

And now Tony P at Stoke lets look at his big signings Crouch & K Jones anything in common with them !!!!!!!!! and now a short pitch is that what the prem stands for. Hope they get relegated even Wigan try and play footie these days.

Neil,

If you think Cliche is class that probably explains why you have gone so long without winning anything, even Mancini who bought him prefers Kolorov (not sure if thats spelt correct)

Lets all have a bit of fun and nail our colours to the mast. Lets all list our top six finishing positions and see who is closest. Mine is;

1) Utd 2) City 3) Spurs 4)Arsenal 5)Liverpool 6) Chelsea (just, from Newcastle)

Cheers, Dakey
